The Stamp Review Crew: Daydream Medallions Edition

Welcome back for another round of inspiration from the Stamp Review Crew This week we are featuring Daydream Medallions. I am #12 on the hop. You may have just left stop #11: the incredibly talented Shana Gaff.  If so, you are in the right spot.

I agreed to create a Christmas card using this set, and I am thrilled with how it turned out. And what about this awesome paper?  It’s from the new Holiday Catalog, which goes live August 28th.  I hope you enjoy today’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5″ by 5″.

  • Emboss! Each medallion was heat embossed with either Pool Party or Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  The silver embossing is shiny in person, and looks fabulous with the Brushed Silver mat. The end result looks so elegant.
  • Bling! A single Rhinestone adds a touch of sparkle.  It was the perfect accent for the Lost Lagoon image atop the stack of medallions.
  • Greetings! The Season’s Greetings sentiment, from the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set, was inked in Lost Lagoon to coordinate with the gorgeous All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Both the stamp set and paper are from the Holiday Catalog. It was then snipped out.  Although I am addicted to snipping, I rarely snip out sentiments.  However, I like the effect on this card.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Daydream Medallions card.  Won’t you let me know in your comment? Your comments are important to me.  After commenting, I hope you will scurry on to Stop #13 on the hop:  the beautiful Betty Traciak If you get lost along the way, visit The Stamp Review Crew blog for a list of all of the hoppers! Until next time…

A Sea Street Birthday for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! LeAnne, in honor of her granddaughter Cassidy’s 4th birthday, is challenging us to create a Clean and Simple Birthday Card for the little ones.  As I sat down to create this week’s card, I realized that I do not have many children’s sets any more.  The closest I came was Sea Street, with its adorable Octopus.  So, I put on my thinking cap, and he donned a party hat! Enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tip: A Child’s Birthday Card
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

    • Bright colors! I want the cards I create for the wee ones to be bright and cheery! So I stamped the Octopus from Sea Street in Pacific Point and the Fishies in Tangerine Tango.
    • Balloons!  Those octopus tentacles were just crying out for balloons. So I pulled out Sketched Birthday and stamped up three balloons in Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, and Hello Honey.  And while I was at it…I decided that Mr. Octopus surely would look cute wearing the Party Hat. I inked it up with Old Olive, and added a Bakers Twine bow.
    • Bling! I couldn’t resist adding Rhinestones to the trio of Starfish, which were stamped in Hello Honey. One is never too young to appreciate the beauty of bling!

I hope you enjoyed today’s cutie patootie card! It was quick to make, and easy, too! I find children’s cards to be a challenge  My area of expertise was with high school students.  But I think this card has a lot to offer in terms of a learning experience:  colors, shapes, counting, and a science lesson! What do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
