Bright and Beautiful for Pals Paper Arts

It’s Thursday and time to play with the Pals at Pals Paper Arts! The talented Nicole, our resident sketch artist, has a fun sketch for us this week.  I pulled out the Bright and Beautiful set, and created a holiday card featuring Brushed Gold cardstock.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Seeing stars! The Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is getting quite a workout at the Schach shack. But who can resist the beautiful texture it imparts to a holiday card? I know I can’t!
  • Stack of stars! A Brushed Gold star, cut using the Star Framelits and embossed with the Beautifully Baroque Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, forms the bottom layer of a stack of stars. The next star was stamped using Baked Brown Sugar ink. Next up is Brushed Gold again, followed by a Champagne Glimmer Star. I would have used Gold Glimmer Paper, but can you believe I don’t have any? I guess I need to order some.
  • A great greeting! A simple sentiment works perfectly for this card.  I selected “peace and joy” from the Good Greetings hostess set, inked with Baked Brown Sugar.  This is one set which truly is filled with “great greetings”!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I love the elegance of  Very Vanilla and Brushed Gold together.  What about you? Do YOU have a favorite elegant color combination? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me. If you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Quick and Easy Endless Wishes and Stars for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players.  This week the talented Sandy is hosting a Clean and Simple challenge with a twist:  Use gold or silver on your project.  Because Muffy and I are on the road and I was pressed for creating time, I was thrilled this card came together so quickly and easily.  It also helped that I had a fabulous sketch to use…last week’s Freshly Made Sketches #157.  Enjoy!

    The Stampin’ Schach’s Design Tips
This finished card is 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

    • Seeing stars! The star focal point of this card was made by using the Star Framelits, Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, and Brushed Gold cardstock.  A Gold Basic Metal Button with a Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine bow is the perfect accent.  Don’t you love how the Tree design peeks through the cutout?
    • Very merry!  The “Merry” sentiment is from one of my favorite holiday sentiment sets, Endless Wishes.  Call me crazy, but I just might buy a second Endless Wishes set to keep forever…just in case something would ever happen to my original set.  That’s how much I LOVE this set.
    • Lovely layers!  Yes, I may have gone a wee bit overboard with the layers on this card, but I like how Brushed Gold looks with Cherry Cobbler.  The card base is the new Kraft cardstock, which coordinates perfectly with the Under the Tree collection.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  I think it has a touch of country elegance.  What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me.  Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
