Boo to You for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week Jaydee is hosting a theme challenge:  Halloween! I opted to pull out the Freaky Friends stamp set and create a little vignette.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Hybrid Cards
This finished card measure 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Where there’s a will there’s…My Digital Studio! I needed a spooky tree for my creepy scene, and My Digital Studio came to the rescue.  This diabolical deciduous beauty was created using the MDS Download, Spook Central Designer Ensemble.  Not every branch is adhered down, so it adds depth.
  • Rest in peace! The Word Window punch, when paired with Smoky Slate cardstock, makes an awesome tombstone.  The lettering was added with a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Starry, starry night! For a whimsical touch, I used the Star pattern from the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper collection as my nightime sky.

I had such a fun time creating today’s card.  This is an adorable little stamp set. Although it lacks a sentiment, I thought “boo to you” from the Good Greetings host set was perfect.  What do you think of this set and today’s card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me. And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…

    Founder’s Circle 2014

Never, ever in my wildest dreams did I ever believe I would earn Stampin’ Up!’s Founder’s Circle.  For those of you who are not familiar with Founder’s Circle, it is an exclusive event for Stampin’ Up!’s top demonstrators in St. George, UT.

St. George is a beautiful location.  Its rock formations and desert clime are so opposite of green and mostly flat Iowa.  On the bus ride from the Las Vegas airport to our hotel, I drank in the views.

From the moment I departed the bus and stepped into the Marriott, I felt pampered, spoiled, and appreciated.

Of course, one of the highlights of Founder’s Circle is the trip to Kanab, where our stamps are made, ink pads are put together, and paper is packaged.

I even got to trim and cut apart one of the new Hostess sets…

and the Bright and Beautiful set.

I was in awe watching our photopolymer sets being made…and I am still not quite sure how things work.  But I know I love using them!

One of the highlights was the tour of Shelli’s apartment.

Of course, no trip to Kanab is complete without a picture in front of the “rock”.

    There were gorgeous centerpieces…

…plus opportunities to meet new friends, like Jen, the concept artist behind Endless Wishes.  The sentiments are written in her handwriting.

And let’s not forget time spent with old friends, too.

    There were  gifts galore…

    …and a decorated door.

I was off to see the Wizard at the Tuachan Center for the Arts.

And in the end, I helped decorate a tree for charity.

It was a glorious time, and one that I will cherish forever.  As I sat and talked to Shelli about showing dogs…it had been on my Bucket List…she asked if Founder’s Circle had been on my list.  Sadly, I told her it had not.  I never believed it was something I could achieve.  In her wisdom, she said to write it down and cross it off.  Isn’t that wonderful piece of  advice?  I LOVED it!!!

And so, as my routine returns to normal, I want to thank all of my loyal customers and the members of my Stampin’ Up! family, The Schach Pack Pals, for making this all happen. I truly love and appreciate you all.  Until next time…
