The Stamp Review Crew: Perfect Pennants Edition

SRC-Perfect-Pennants-banner

It’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew.  If this is your very first visit, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us  features the same stamp set.  The result is you see the versatility of the set and the amazing things you can create with it.  This week we are featuring Perfect Pennants.  I am Stop #8 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #7: the talented Deb Currier.  Her work is always fabulous.  I really like this set, and was inspired to create three different projects for you.  Enjoy today’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Card #1:  Quick and Easy Hello
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

Please note:  Blackberry Bliss goes amiss! As much as I tried to photograph today’s cards, I could not get the true Blackberry Bliss cardstock color to shine through.  It looked black in most of the photographs I took, under a myriad of lighting options.

IMG_1308Cardmaking doesn’t get any easier than this.  Shall we say, it’s as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Easy background!  Although the stencil that comes with the Artisan Embellishment Kit is perfect for creating spritzed or sponged backgrounds, it is also perfect as a stand alone background.  This one was adhered to Blackberry Bliss cardstock, leaving a 1/4″ border all the way around.  This was then adhered to a Whisper White card base.
  2. Easy sentiment! The “Hello” sentiment from Perfect Pennants was inked with Blackberry Bliss and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  It was easily punched out using the smallest Banner Framelit.
  3. Easy embellishments! A few Pearls were added to the centers of the roses, just to add a touch of elegance.

Card #2:  Banners
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Pennants! Pennants are so easy to make with Banner Framelits.  The larger one on today’s card features the beautiful pansy pattern from the new Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper collection.
  • Feeling sentimental! The sentiment was selectively inked using Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black Stampin’ Write Markers.  Being lighter in hue than Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry provides a nice constast to the black.
  • A sprinkling of butterflies! The Beautiful Wings Embosslits were used to create a trio of butterflies to accent the banners.  Of course, I could not resist the urge to add a few pearls.

Project #3:  A Birthday Tag and a Bag
This finished bag measure 2-3/4″ wide by 5-1/4″ long.  (Removing the mini-clothespin allows this bag to be tucked into an envelope for easy mailing of gift cards.)  Once again, this project is quick and easy!

IMG_1324

  •  Mini-delight! The Mini-Treat Bag Thinlits die is so much fun! In a matter of minutes, I created this treat bag, using the Party Hats pattern from the new Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper.
  • Layered sentiment!  I stamped the “Make a Wish” sentiment in Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock. I used the Banner Framelits to create a banner, and matted it onto Crushed Curry.  I inked the sentiment a second time with Tangelo Twist, and snipped out the center section of the sentiment and layered it onto the Night of Navy one.  I just happened to have a second Night of Navy sentiment handy, one where the “wish” section had not stamped perfectly.  Rather than throw it away, I used a 1/2″ punch to punch out the letter “a”.  I then popped it into position on top of the Tangelo Twist banner.
  • Finishing touches! I covered a clothespin with a snippet of coordinating paper, and added a simple Tangelo Twist ribbon to add a festive touch.

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects. Of course, if you have questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Now scoot along and visit the rest of the hoppers.  Next up is #8 on the list, the talented and creative Beth Beard! If you get lost along the way, visit The Stamp Review Crew for a list of all hoppers. Until next time…
