The Stamp Review Crew: Wondrous Wreath Edition

SRC-Wondrous-Wreath-bannerIt’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew.  If this is your very first visit, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us  features the same stamp set.  The result is you see the versatility of the set and the amazing things you can create with it.  This week we are featuring Wondrous Wreath.  I am Stop #6 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #5: the talented Deb Currier.  Her work is always fabulous.  As for me…I designed a Wedding Treat Bag.  Enjoy today’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

  • Score! To create an elegant look, I used the Diagonal Plate and the Simply Scored scoring tool to create the diamond background on this treat bag.   Of course, wedding treat bags call for Pearls, don’t you think?IMG_1516
  • Decorate! The Wreath was stamped in Always Artichoke (stamped off once) and the overlay was inked in Mossy Meadow.  The sweet little blossoms, punched in shades of Pink Pirouette, Soft Sky, So Saffron, and Wisteria Wonder, were created using the smallest flower die from the Flower Fair Framelits collection.  Pearls were added to the centers of each.  A few sequins add just a touch of sparkle.IMG_1511
  • Bow! A Sahara Sand lace bow is the final touch.

IMG_1523-001Wouldn’t this be adorable to hand out to guests as wedding favors…with a packet of flower seeds and a cute little poem tucked inside? Or maybe a square of chocolate? What do you think? Won’t you let me know in your comment today? Your comments are important to me, and I read each and every one! Of course, if you have any questions about today’s project, I am only an email away!  Now hop along to Stop #7, Kerry Willard Bray.  Her work never ceases to amaze me. And if you get lost along the way, you can find a list of all the hoppers at The Stamp Review Crew.  Until next time…

Moon Lake for The Paper Players…and a Sadie Update

IMG_1505It’s Sunday…and time to play with The Paper Players!  This week the wildly talented Joanne is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge:  Feathered Friends.  All you need to do is create a Clean and Simple card featuring a bird.  I inked up the Moon Lake stamp set for the first time, and had so much fun creating this clean and elegant card.  I hope you enjoy it…and the Sadie/Faith update!pp232The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Diamonds and Pearls! One of my favorite backgrounds is created using the Diagonal Plate and the Simply Scored tool.  I double scored the diagonals and added Pearls at the intersections.  The result is elegant and feminine.

  • Blender Pens and Inks! The Bird image was inked in Jet Black StazOn. It was then colored using Blender Pens and the following inks: Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Soft Suede, Soft Sky, Wisteria Wonder.  Of course, a few Crumb Cake speckles, add a vintage touch.

  • Border and Bow!  A double Very Vanilla satin bow looks perfect with the Doily border.  This border is one of the two Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

IMG_1506By keeping the colors light and delicate, and by adding elegant details, this Moon Lake image makes a beautiful, feminine card.

Sadie on CouchJust look at that ornery look in her eye! She looks like she is ready to spring into action at any minute!  Isn’t she just adorable?  It’s hard to keep a Boxer down!

Depositphotos_6435001_xsHer incision…albeit long…looks great!  Of course, she is receiving pain medication and antibiotics.  Now my mission is to get her medical bills paid off.  Of course, I will continue to keep you updated on her progress.

11004157_10152898279594230_1671979333_nI hope you enjoyed today’s card. I have used this layout before.  It’s a classic, don’t you think? Won’t you let me know what you think in your comment today? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one.  And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Guy Greetings for Pals Paper Arts

IMG_1491It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week is a color challenge: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Soft Suede.  I thought these colors would be perfect for a masculine card, so I pulled out the Guy Greetings set and created a birthday card. I hope you enjoy today’s design.PPA239The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Tin Lizzy! The Old Coupe image was inked with Soft Suede, and stamped onto Naturals Ivory cardstock.  An Ovals Collection framelit was used to cut it out.  A few speckles were added using the Gorgeous Grunge Speckles stamp.  To add depth, the car image was stamped a second time, snipped out, and popped atop the original using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

  • Seeing red! The Real Red panel sports embossed diamonds, courtesy of the Simply Scored scoring tool and the Diagonal Plate.   A few Pearls add a bit of interest, as does Linen Thread.

The diagonal lines were scored 1″ apart.

  • A “classic” banner!  The sentiment, “To A Classic” was inked in Soft Suede and stamped onto Naturals Ivory cardstock. Both ends were punched into a “V”, using the Hexagon Punch.

IMG_1490Even though this is a masculine card, I added the Pearls.  I felt like something was needed.  I tried Candy Dots, and they didn’t quite look right.  Buttons were a little large for my liking.  The men in my life are used to Pearls on their cards, so it won’t bother them one bit.

Before I leave you today, I do want to include another picture of Faith/Sadie.  This was taken after her surgery.  (If you have not been following the story of this brave little puppy, you can catch up by reading these previous posts: I Made a Difference Today and Faith Update.)  Isn’t she just the cutest thing ever?

Sadie in Crate I think these colors worked perfectly for a masculine card.  What do you think?  Won’t you let me know in your comment today? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one. And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
