Market Fresh for The Paper Players

IMG_2571-001It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the talented Claire is hosting a Theme Challenge: Clean and Simple Summer Treats. I decided to use my new Market Fresh stamp set and create a card featuring one of my favorite summer treats…Strawberries! Enjoy today’s card!

pp250Please note:  I am currently under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch as I write this.  If I do not have a chance to complete this post, you will know why.

Update: Well, I ended up losing power until sometime early Sunday morning.  After I shut my computer off, the sirens sounded, and we all headed to the basement.  Nothing says fun like three rambunctious puppies during a storm.  Muffy, Brody and Lexi have been through storm drills many, many times, and they performed liked real troopers.  Kim, Brady and I each took a puppy (Bunny is still here…she is not leaving until next weekend), and rode out the storm for over an hour.  By that time, the severe thunderstorm warning had expired, and the tornado watch was lifted for my county.  In the end, the only damage was our back fence was blown down.  Kim and Brady fixed it around 11:00 PM.  Although the picture is very dark, here are Jack and Lexi under the table in the basement:

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This folded card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Watercolor! The Strawberry image was heat embossed onto Very Vanilla card stock, and then carefully colored with Blender Pens and Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Hello Honey inks. Of course, I had to add a few mini-pearls.

  • Farmer’s Market! This Designer Series Paper is one of my new favorites!  From ginghams and dots like these two…to the cutest vegetables ever…I LOVE all of the patterns.

IMG_2571-002

  • Thick and rich! Although it sounds like I am describing candy, the same adjectives can be used to describe the new Thick Baker’s Twine.  I am so in love with the richness of the Cherry Cobbler twine, I just had to make TWO bows!

IMG_2571-003I think this stamp set could become one of my favorites.  “Thanks a Bunch” would make perfect “Thank-You” cards, and “Lettuce Celebrate” could be perfect for birthdays or party invites. What do you think?  Won’t you let me know in your comment today.  Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

You’ve Got This for The Paper Players

IMG_2556It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! The talented Sandy is hosting a color challenge for us this week:  Real Red, Pool Party, Island Indigo.  I have been wanting to play with some of the new products from the 2015 – 2016 Annual Catalog, and this seemed like the perfect time.  I hope you enjoy today’s card!

pp249The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

  • Crazy for Polka Dots! The patterns in the new Designer Series Paper Stacks are awesome! I selected the Soft Sky Polka Dots from the Subtle Collection for my background.

IMG_2556-001

  • Hello on a brick wall! The new Greetings Thinlits were used to create the Island Indigo “hello” die cut.  It looks great against new Brick Wall embossed backdrop.

IMG_2556-003

  • Floral fusion! Two new floral sets were used to create the floral focal point.  The Real Red watercolored Flower is from You’ve Got This, while the watercolored Old Olive Leaves are from Remarkable You.

IMG_2556-002I was a little concerned at first about using these leaves, because the style is a little different than the style of the flower…but I think they coordinate just fine.  What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me.  And remember…if you ever have a question about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

The Open Sea for Pals Paper Arts

IMG_2539It’s Thursday and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! It’s a color challenge week, and we have a beautiful combination of colors for you:  Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Sahara Sand.  Since I needed a birthday card for my husband, I opted to create  masculine card using The Open Sea stamp set. I hope you enjoy today’s card!

PPA255The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Float your boat! The Ship image was stamped a second time in Early Espresso, snipped out, and popped atop the original using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Using dimensionals is an easy way to add depth and perspective.

IMG_2539-003

  • Anchors away! The Anchor image was snipped out and adhered to the Globe image. It’s a great way to accent the Happy Birthday sentiment.

IMG_2539-002

  • A little twine is fine! Linen Thread was used to add a little texture. Silly me! I totally forgot to trim it a little shorter before I photographed it.  I guess I was in too big of a hurry to play with puppies!

IMG_2539-001This card is earmarked for my husband, Kim.  He hits the big 6-0 in a few days. Since he is younger than I am, I get teased that I robbed the cradle.  And cradle reminds me of baby which reminds me of puppies!  Here is an adorable picture I snapped of Chunkers and Jack:

IMG_3186They are such good helpers! They were just hanging  out at my feet, sleeping, while Kia was sleeping in Kim’s arms.

IMG_3174I hoped you enjoyed today’s masculine birthday card.  Won’t you let me know in your comments today? And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
