It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the talented Claire is hosting a Theme Challenge: Clean and Simple Summer Treats. I decided to use my new Market Fresh stamp set and create a card featuring one of my favorite summer treats…Strawberries! Enjoy today’s card!
Please note: I am currently under a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch as I write this. If I do not have a chance to complete this post, you will know why.
Update: Well, I ended up losing power until sometime early Sunday morning. After I shut my computer off, the sirens sounded, and we all headed to the basement. Nothing says fun like three rambunctious puppies during a storm. Muffy, Brody and Lexi have been through storm drills many, many times, and they performed liked real troopers. Kim, Brady and I each took a puppy (Bunny is still here…she is not leaving until next weekend), and rode out the storm for over an hour. By that time, the severe thunderstorm warning had expired, and the tornado watch was lifted for my county. In the end, the only damage was our back fence was blown down. Kim and Brady fixed it around 11:00 PM. Although the picture is very dark, here are Jack and Lexi under the table in the basement:
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This folded card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Watercolor! The Strawberry image was heat embossed onto Very Vanilla card stock, and then carefully colored with Blender Pens and Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, and Hello Honey inks. Of course, I had to add a few mini-pearls.
- Farmer’s Market! This Designer Series Paper is one of my new favorites! From ginghams and dots like these two…to the cutest vegetables ever…I LOVE all of the patterns.
- Thick and rich! Although it sounds like I am describing candy, the same adjectives can be used to describe the new Thick Baker’s Twine. I am so in love with the richness of the Cherry Cobbler twine, I just had to make TWO bows!
I think this stamp set could become one of my favorites. “Thanks a Bunch” would make perfect “Thank-You” cards, and “Lettuce Celebrate” could be perfect for birthdays or party invites. What do you think? Won’t you let me know in your comment today. Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
