Holiday Catalog Shares Information

It’s Time for The Stampin’ Schach’s 2016 Holiday Catalog Product Shares!

Catalog in MailboxWhy participate in shares? Shares are a way to sample the new Designer Series Papers, Ribbons, and Embellishments at a fraction of what it would cost you to purchase all of them yourself.  And the nice thing is I do all the ordering, cutting, counting and re-packaging for you!

How Shares Work

  • Simply  EMAIL ME (ann@thestampinschach.com or kimschach@msn.com) to reserve your spot in a share.  When your share fills, I will bill you via PayPal, or you may send a check. Per Stampin’ Up! guidelines I cannot send out invoices before August 25th.
  • On September 1st, I will place the orders for all filled shares.  Once I receive the products, I will put the troops to work, and cut, count, measure and package up your goodies pronto!  Because I want to get your shares mailed out before I leave for Founder’s Circle, I will expedite the order!!!
  • Your papers will be lovingly wrapped and identified to protect them; ribbons will be rolled or folded; and embellies will be placed into small plastic containers.  Once this task is completed, your shares will be sent out via the US Postal Service.

She Sells Sea Shells for The Paper Players and Brody News

IMG_2752It’s time to play with The Paper Players! This week the lovely LeAnne has a Clean and Simple Challenge for us…The Beach!  Now I am a dyed-in-the-wool Stampin’ Up! stamper, and I rarely ever use a non-Stampin’ Up! stamp.  But today I pulled out a never-used set by Our Craft Lounge called Treasured Friend.  It is a set I was given when I was designing for Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen back in 2010. I thought it was perfect for this challenge!

pp258The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Faux water coloring! Water coloring with Blender Pens and inks is quick and easy. I simply touch the tip of a Blender Pen to the ink pad itself, and color the image.  Since it’s easier to add color than to remove it, I always test the color on scratch paper to make certain it is not too dark.

  • Glitteriffic!  The Sea Shell and Sea Horse from By the Tide were water-colored and then glittered.  The new Fine Tip Glue Pen, available September 1st in the new Holiday Catalog, makes it a cinch to add glue…and glitter…exactly where you want it.  Dazzling Diamonds is my glitter of choice for adding a touch of bling.

  • Banner!  The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  One end was punched into a “V”,  courtesy of the Hexagon Punch.  The other end was curled around a small, round file.  If you don’t have small file, a wooden skewer works fine, too!

Here is your recipe for fun!

Brody

It is with sadness I have to report that Brody had a hemangiosarcoma removed from his side on Friday.  Hemangiosarcoma is an aggressive, malignant tumor which almost always carries a poor prognosis.  The exception to this is a hemangiosarcoma which  originates in the skin and has not yet metastasized to the internal organs. Brody’s did indeed originate in the skin, and the surgeon went quite deep and wide in an attempt to get it all, as you can see in this photo.

Brody We will know if she was successful when we get the results of the biopsy next week.  Of course, the entire family has been on an emotional roller coaster.  We can only hope and pray we caught it early enough…

I hope you enjoyed today’s card.  Even though I feel like a traitor to Stampin’ Up!, it was a perfect image for the challenge, don’t you agree? Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Market Fresh for Pals Paper Arts

IMG_2747It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! It’s a color challenge this week:  Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise.  At first, I was leaning toward something Halloween, but the Turquoise was throwing it off a wee bit.  I took a look in the catalog to see what Designer Papers had these colors in them.  I picked the Farmers Market paper, specifically the gorgeous gingham plaid pattern.  It wasn’t until the card was completed and I was writing my post that I realized the error of my ways.  Yikes!  This pattern paper is Blackberry Bliss.  But you know what? That’s the beauty of Stampin’ Up!  Everything coordinates so well!  At least the card stock I used is Rich Razzleberry, and so is the ink I used to watercolor the grapes. At any rate, I hope you enjoy my mistake!

PPA263The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

  • Great grapes! There is something about the Market Fresh stamp set that caught my eye when I saw it in the new Annual Catalog.  Maybe it is my love of water coloring which makes this set so appealing.  The images are perfect for faux water coloring, using Blender Pens and inks.  It was stamped with new Archival Basic Black ink (in the new Holiday Catalog).  I LOVE this ink.  The image was crisp and clean, and it worked perfectly with Blender Pens.  There was no smearing at all. I can’t wait for you to try it!

IMG_2747-001

  • Bump it up! One way to add depth is to snip out the banner and bump it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.  It is so easy to snip out,  but what a difference this makes!

IMG_2747-002

  • Layered ribbons!  Pear Pizzazz ribbon is layered over the new Rich Razzleberry Into the Woods 3/8″ Cotton Ribbon. What fabulous texture this ribbon has! Although you only see a snippet of it, it definitely adds to the card.

IMG_2747-004

  • Layered labels! The new Lots of Labels Framelits are perfect for layering. The Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz labels are the same size. The Pear Pizzazz one was simply cut in half!

IMG_2747-005Here is your recipe for fun:

Stamp Set: Market Fresh; Inks:  Archival Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise; Paper: Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Farmers Market Designer Series Paper; Other:  Big Shot, Lots of Labels Framelits, Blender Pens, Rich Razzleberry Into the Woods ribbon, Pear Pizzazz 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
