Layering Love for Pals Paper Arts

Layering Love The Stampin' Schach

It’s Thursday…and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week our sketch is courtesy of the talented Nicole Watt.  What an awesome sketch it is! I thought it would be perfect for showing off one of the sentiments from the new Layering Love stamp set…along with the yummy Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I hope you enjoy today’s quick and easy card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/4″ square.

Pop Of Pink certainly describes this Specialty Designer Series Paper collection perfectly.  I love the contrast between the Melon Mambo pattern and the class black and white.

This card is all about the layers, including the layered hearts created with the new Sweet & Sassy Framelits.

Of course, I had to add a bit of bling.  A single Rhinestone graces the tip of the heart.

This is such a classic sketch…and a perfect one for showcasing beautiful patterns or a meaningful sentiment. If you would like to recreate this card, here are the measurements:

  • Melon Mambo card stock:  5-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ scored at 5-1/4″ for the card base; 3″ x 3″ (for heart)
  • Basic Black card stock:  5″ x 5″;  4-5/16″ x  1-3/8″;  4-1/16″ x 3/8″; 3″ x 3″ (for heart)
  • Whisper White card stock: 3″ x 3″ (for heart)
  • Pop of Pink Black and White Dots: 4-5/8″ x 4-5/8″
  • Pop of Pink Melon Mambo:  4-1/4″ x 1-1/4″;  4″ x 1/4″

I made this card for my husband, who was such a good sport during 9 days on the road with Jackie and me.  It rained a few of the days at the American Boxer Club National Specialty Dog Show in Indianapolis, and Kim was awesome about taking Jackie out, since I had failed to pack suitable wet-weather shoes.  And when the temperatures plummeted in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on the weekend, Kim searched the mall for inexpensive sweatshirts for us.  We had packed for Indy weather, which reached into the mid-80’s one of the days.  Neither of us were prepared for overnight temperatures in the low-30’s.  Life lessons were learned about packing for dog shows in the spring!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card! And if you missed the post about Jackie the Boxer’s wins, please check out yesterday’s post.  As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…
