I just love it when I can play along with my two favorite challenges using the same card! Sandy at The Paper Players is challenging us to “Cut It Out!” (dies, punches, fussy cutting, etc.), while Jen Mitchell at Freshly Made Sketches has a stunner of a sketch for us. In fact, you’ll see me using this sketch again with my next card. That’s how awesome this sketch is! I hope you enjoy today’s friendship card…with it’s step-by-step tutorial!

The Stampin’ Schach Step-by-Step Tutorial
(Product numbers are found at the end of this post.)
Stamp Set: Awesomely Artistic
Ink: Basic Black Archival
Paper: Very Vanilla cardstock (4-1/4″ wide x 11″ long)
Basic Black cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″, 3-1/4″ x 3-3/8″, 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″)
Crushed Curry cardstock (2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″, 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″)
Always Artichoke cardstock (2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″)
Whisper White cardstock (2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″)
Urban Underground Designer Specialty Series Paper (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″, 2-5/8″ x 4-1/8″)
Other: Big Shot, Timeless Tags Thinlits, SNAIL, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Fine Tip Glue Pen, Metal Rimmed Pearls
- Create the card base by scoring the Very Vanilla cardstock at 5-1/2″.
- Adhere the Small Dot pattern Designer Series Paper to Basic Black cardstock. Attach to the card base.
- Stamp the word Friend in Basic Black ink on the Lined pattern Designer Series Paper. Mat onto Crushed Curry cardstock. Adhere the Basic Black cardstock onto the back of this panel. Adhere to the card base.
- Run the Daisy Timeless Tags Thinlit through the Big Shot with each of these three colors of cardstock: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke. Punch out and save all the pieces.

- Using the Fine Tip Glue Pen, glue the Basic Black die cut to a piece of Whisper White card stock. Trim around the outside. Glue the Crushed Curry petals, Basic Black center, and Always Artichoke leaves and stem into position.
- “Pop up” the inlaid flower on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish the center with a Metal Rimmed Pearl.

How easy is that! And this inlaid flower works perfectly with this sketch. This card is easy to change up, too, simply by changing out the paper. As for me, I challenged myself to use this fun paper with a somewhat masculine vibe just to see how it would look with a flower. I can always use friendship cards. Nothing compares to receiving a surprise friendship card in the mail.
As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

This little stamp is perfect for adding a touch of interest to anything. Keeping true to my nature, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add pearls.
