Spring Showers

Spring showers are inevitable here in my neck of the woods. In fact, as I write this post, it is cold, gray and drizzly. However, days like this never make me sad. I enjoy staying inside creating special cards for the special people who brighten up the rainy days. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

Spring Showers

The week the fabulous LeAnne is hosting our theme challenge. She has a very timely one for us: Spring Showers. This is such a fun theme. I opted to use cute critters playing in the rain. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my incredible Design Teammates, who work so hard to inspire you weekly, some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

Because I didn’t have any current products to fit this week’s challenge, I headed to my stash of retired goodies to see what I could find. I pulled out the Playing In The Rain bundle and a few large scraps of retired Rain or Shine specialty designer series paper and gave them some much needed attention. I LOVE it when the dies in a bundle can be used with images in the coordinating designer series paper. It makes it easy to create quick and fabulous cards.  In this case, the adorable fox and rabbit are showing us first-hand that rainy days are best when shared with friends. I used a retired Everyday Arches die to create the delightful raindrop arch. And speaking of raindrops, the raindrop embossed card base was created using the retired Raindrops embossing folder. Clear Opal Rounds and clear Ladybug Garden epoxy dots were used as embellishments. I am excited to send this card out to brighten someone’s day!

  1. It’s gray and raining here too but because it’s autumn, not spring – so it’s going to get worse before it gets better! I like that you’ve used the arch to build your design – it works like a window to the outside. The raindrop embossing folder is just perfect for this DSP too – very cohesive. 🙂

  2. Ann, your card is so cute! I still have some of that paper, the stamps and dies. I need to get it out and actually use it. This is the time of year when it will seem appropriate. You motivated me to create something with it today. (We didn’t get any rain yesterday….just a beautiful sunny day.)

  3. This is just the cutest! I love the arched layout, and I totally do NOT remember that raindrop embossing folder! But it sure is perfect for this card! We had rain today as well but I confess I did not look as happy about it as your pair here look! Thanks for making a fun card using my theme this week!

  4. I love that you, Joanne, and I all used that same DSP and even the same greeting and we came up with totally different cards : ) Playing in the Rain is one of my favorite suites and it’s fun to see it come out to play again. Love the embossed raindrop background and your cute layout with these rainy day pals. Happy Easter!

Ann, this is the cutest. I think I would keep these cuties in my stash. I love the DSP and these two cuties playing the rain made me smile! This card would brighten anyone’s day! Have a blessed Easter, My Friend!
