I have long been enchanted by unicorns. Along with their legendary beauty and magical qualities, they represent a purity and innocence that captures the imagination. Although they may only be an elusive dream, I choose to believe in unicorns and the strength, pride and uniqueness they represent. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players.
It’s theme week at The Paper Players, hosted by the incomparable Christy. She has a fun theme for us: Mythical Creatures, like leprechauns, unicorns, dragons, fairies, gnomes, mermaids, and more. While I went the unicorn route, I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my incredible Design Teammates, who work so hard to inspire you weekly, some “Comment Love”. Colors Of The Day
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
For this challenge I turned to a gorgeous 3D embossing folder: Lisa Hilton’s Believe In Unicorns. It truly is the star of today’s card. I used Fresh Freesia and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends to color the embossed blossoms and leaves. Smoky Slate ink and a Blender Pen were used to shade a few places on the unicorn for contrast. The entire unicorn was then outlined using a Blender Pen and retired Soft Sky ink. The mane was covered with retired Ice Stampin’ Glitter, while Distress brand glitter tinsel was used to embellish the horn. Then I die cut flowers from Fresh Freesia cardstock using the Delicate Whispers dies (available March 3rd). Leafy fronds were die cut from Lost Lagoon cardstock using Petals of Beauty dies (an Online Exclusive). The blossoms and fronds were then adhered to the mane. Next, Stampin’ Up! Basic Rhinestones and Prism Pawsitively Dazzling Gems were used to embellish the flowers. Finally, a Bubble Bath pink bow was added, to cover up a mistake. Thank goodness for ribbon! Needless to say, this card is staying at home. It will be framed and displayed with Nueve’s plaques and awards. After all, he loves unicorns as much as I do!
