A Dove for PP764

It is Clean and Simple week at The Paper Players! Our talented host, Stef, has selected a timely theme: Make a Clean and Simple card featuring your favorite holiday image, such as a Santa, a Menorah, candles, presents, ornaments, a Christmas tree and more. Yep! It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

I pulled out the retired Peace on Earth dies and created a dove card. I can’t wait to see what you create. Just remember it is Clean and Simple week. Make sure your creations meet the following criteria:

Have minimal layers and embellishments
Have plenty of open space
Are simple and uncluttered

Colors for a Dove for PP764

While there are many iconic images of the holiday season, my favorite is a dove. There is something innately calming and spiritual about a dove. To me, a dove represents the season’s messages of hope and goodwill, of peace and love, of harmony and family. I LOVE Stampin’ Up!’s retired Detailed Dove dies. They produce a beautiful and elegant representation of a dove. Perched upon an ornate rectangle, die cut using a Peace on Earth die, she forms the focal point of my card. The lovely, embossed background was made using the Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder. Embellishments were kept to a minimum, with three gold flower accents complimenting the gold olive branch she holds in her beak. Although I would love to keep her and frame her, giving her a prominent place on my mantle, she will instead be winging her way to my son and his wife to adorn his mantle.

  1. Ann, I love that you went all white. I love all that wonderful texture, and the fact that you didn’t add a sentiment. The card didn’t need it, and not having it allows us to focus on all that wonderful detail. Gorgeous. I know they will love and cherish it.
    hugs

  2. Wow, this is a stunner! That dove is just beautiful! The embossing really makes it stand out and the gold branch and dots are the perfect embellishment!

  3. Ann, I really think the dove is such a beautiful symbol of Christmas. This white on white card is so elegant and classic. The gold elements are lovely! Your card is CAS perfection!

  5. Texture on texture, gold on white – nothing could be more perfect in my book! This is a lovely CAS card. 🙂

  6. Ann, you’ve created a simply stunning CAS card! White on white is wonderful when done as beautifully as you have here. Love the touches of gold and the pretty embossing. That is one gorgeous dove too and I join you loving the representation of peace and love. And no doubt, your son and DIL will cherish receiving this beauty!

  7. LOVE this card Ann! classic white, simple yet classy

  8. Gorgeous card, Ann! I love all the layers of white & the pop of gold!
I always have to have some color on my cards (or a lot of color!).
I just bought the EF & plan to use it on my Christmas cards this year.
    Thanks for sharing!!!

  9. Such a lovely card, Ann! I generally steer clear of any all-white challenges that come up this time of year because I can’t wrap my brain around no color (except your little pop of gold), but you made it look effortlessly elegant here! I do like Colleen’s idea of using the dove dies to make ornaments, that would be beautiful.

  10. Stunning card and I do have that retired Dove set.
Not only cards; but I also made several doves from that set and used as tree ornaments.
Can’t help but not love them Doves; meaning of Peace & Joy on Earth.
Big Hugs to them sweet, beautiful ‘kids’ of yours

  11. Oh my, that is stunning, elegant, magnificent! Love it. Thanks for sharing.
