Peace, Joy, Love In Purple

Another week has passed and another Sunday is here. It’s time to play with The Paper Players PP759!

Peace Joy Love in purple

This week, the amazing Elizabeth is hosting our color challenge. I love the colors she has selected for us: Purple and Green. I elected to create a holiday floral card in shades of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Blackberry Bliss, with touches of Old Olive and Shaded Spruce. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But like I always say, before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my incredible “Teamies”, who work so hard to inspire you weekly, some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

One of my favorite stamp sets from the September – December Mini Catalog is the Christmas Greenery set. This is a Two-Step Stampin’ set which means that adding colors to the image is just a stamp away. I used the little nosegay image, with Old Olive and Shaded Spruce colored greenery and Highland Heather colored petals. I used Blackberry Bliss, stamped off once, for the bow. Blackberry Bliss was also used to stamp the sentiment, which is from the retired Dove of Hope stamp set. The nosegay was die cut out and placed upon a backdrop created with the Peaceful Greenery 3D embossing folder and the Peace on Earth dies. I kept the embellishments very simple, using basic rhinestones for the centers of the blossoms. Sometimes you can’t go wrong with classic bling!

  1. Ann, this is so pretty! I love the embossed background, and your signature rhinestones are perfectly placed. Your choice of the banner sentiment was perfect as it draws the eye to the focal image. Fabulous card.

The simple flower posy looks lovely in those soft purples Ann, but the embossed frame is the thing that really steals the show!! Just beautiful!

  3. I’ve just got that embossing folder and so glad that I did. I hadn’t seen the potential for Christmas in the colours but your card is so sweet! You’re right about classic bling – adding it to the flower centres was a nice touch, although I had to look closely at the photo because at first I thought you’d added something gold to the centres. 🙂

  4. Just delightful! All the little details (love that little bow) make this a stand-out! The embossed background is wonderful too!

  5. VERY pretty card, Ann! Definitely my style! I love those flowers and, of course, purple! The embossed background really makes the centerpiece of the card shine. It would also make a lovely birthday card.

  6. Such a lovely card with a beautiful color combination. All looks well balanced to go with that embossed background.
    Very elegant card

  7. Your Christmas floral card is just beautiful Ann! I love die cut beneath the nosegay and the lovely embossed background. It’s a perfect way to use these colors!

  8. This color combination is perfect! Simple but elegant, with that touch of bling and a white background.

  9. I love that you went with multiple shades of the challenge colors and you got a sweet floral card in the end. Love that embossed background and the rhinestones on the flowers too!

  10. Beautiful card and versatile also….would make a wonderful sympathy card.
