The Season For Baking

The Christmas holiday season truly is the season for baking at the Schach house. That is probably why I absolutely had to purchase the Homemade Treats bundle, one of the new Online Exclusives. If this is also your season for baking, you may want to give this bundle a closer look. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week I have the honor and pleasure of hosting our monthly theme challenge. My choice for your stamping fun this week is: Food, Glorious Food! Simply feature any type of food or drink on your project. I opted for gingerbread cookies, but the “foodie” in me can’t wait to see what you choose. However, before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my incredible “Teamies”, who work so hard to inspire you weekly, some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day! And don’t forget to stop by and say “hello” to the newest member of our team, Christy Stanford!

When I think of gingerbread cookies, I think of a Christmas rooted in traditions. That is probably why I gravitated toward traditional red and green holiday colors, such as the hues found in the Traditions of Christmas designer series paper collection. The cookie and rolling pin images were inked in Pecan Pie and stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock, their color adding warmth. Looking at the cookies, I can almost smell molasses and spices. The piping bag and oven mitt were stamped in Real Red and adorned with Old Olive linen thread bows. Of course, what better way to add a touch of bling than with a sprinkling of Traditional Sparkling Sequins.

Baking gingerbread is my most favourite holiday activity Ann and this card is such a wonderful reminder of the tradition. I love all the little details, right down the the piping bag and festive oven glove – just fabulous! I wish you lived closer – I would bring you some yummy gingerbread for sure!

  4. I don’t even know where to begin, Ann! The baking sheet with the cute gingerbread cookies is delightful, as are the accompanying baking elements. Love the layers of paper, the postage die cut and the sweet sentiment. Fabulous card, my friend!

  5. This is super cute, Ann. I like the layering that leads the eye to the main event. The baking tray of biscuits is actually very festive. I like the wee bows on the icing bag and oven mitt too – nice touches.

  6. Ann… I can smell the treats now! No baking for me this year… usually I start making shortbread now, socking it away for the holidays. With so much butter in it, the cookies last forever. No time this year… counting on all my friends to back. Super card!!

  7. Great yumy card😋 congrats 💐☺️ happy day

  8. Such a sweet card. Great card to put anyone in the baking mood.
A wonderful batch of cookies, put on a giving plate makes for a nice neighborly gift.
Of course one has to make a lovely card to go along with the giving plate full of delicious cookies

  12. Ann, nothing shouts Christmas like gingerbread cookies! I love all the sweet images in your creative cooking scene. Red and green certainly are go to colors for traditions! And by the way, I DO love cookies! This theme is so fun this week!

  13. I just love this, Ann! I ordered that stamp set and die bundle last week and I look forward to getting it into my hot little hands, though I am more inclined to make gingerbread muffins than gingerbread man cookies. I’m sure I will be baking several batches of cookies for the hubs to take into work : )

  14. Sweet! I love this card. It is what I imagined with this set. I enjoy making treats for neighbors etc at Christmas and include a card. This will be perfect to go with a treat even if they are store bought cookies. Add a red ribbon bow and you have a cute and fun treat. Thanks for the colors you used. Just a great fun card.

  15. I love your card it is colorful and whimsical. What is better than fresh cookies at Christmas!

  16. Adorable!
