Peace On Earth Card

It’s never too early to get a start on holiday cards. My preorder products from the September – December Mini Catalog have inspired me to do just that. This elegant Peace On Earth card may be the one I decide to create for my family and friends. Time will tell. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week the talented Jaydee is hosting our sketch challenge. Don’t you LOVE this sketch? The fact that the center element can be ANY shape makes it so versatile.

We can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather up your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my “Teamies” some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

The only thing that was difficult about today’s card was getting a good picture of it! With paper as gorgeous as this pattern from the Peaceful Garden designer series paper collection, you do not need to add a lot of extras. The large Peace on Earth sentiment, from the aptly named Peace On Earth stamp set, was die cut using one of the dies from the Peace On Earth die set.

I was drawn to this bundle because of the doves. Along with a sparkly die cut leafy stem and Faceted Snowflake embellishments, the doves are the perfect accents for the sentiment. The combination of fonts on the sentiment is truly lovely. I can’t wait to make a few more of these!

Hi, Everybody! It’s me, Nueve! I’ve got good news to share. I DID it! I was a very good boy all weekend and did what I was told to do and earned my first Rally Obedience title. Mom was so proud of me! We took a picture with my ribbons.

peace on earth

It was super hot out and I wanted to be inside with the air ‘ditioner. But Uncle Q kept being bad, just like he was at the show. He kept sticking his head in my picture and wanted to get my ribbons. At the show, he didn’t do what the judge wanted him to do. He just did his own thing like jumping the jump THREE times. He was only supposed to jump it once. When he tried to jump it a fourth time, he had to leave the ring. People laughed, but Mom didn’t think he was very funny.

Sixxy was very good and earned her first qualification toward her Rally Advanced title. She only needs to qualify two more times and she will have her third obedience title. I was very proud of my sister. Mom wanted all three of us to have our picture taken together. Once again, Uncle Q wasn’t being very ‘bedient. He slobbered on Sixxy’s head and then didn’t want to sit pretty. Mom says Uncle Q travels to the beat of a different drum. I think that means he just does what he wants to do.

Nueve, Sixx and Uncle Q

But not me! I always try to do the right thing. I make Mom and Dad proud. It’s just one of the many things I do. It’s part of my job. I am a Working Dog. I am Good Boy Nueve!

  2. Ann, I love that you chose a neutral color scheme for a Christmas card. It works beautifully with your wonderful white doves and I am in love with the font on that sentiment. Absolutely fabulous use of the sketch. Thanks for rocking my challenge this week. Oh… and good job you two. Uncle Q – you are my kind of dog 🙂

  3. Ann, this card is so your style, at least how I envision it! Elegant, sophisticated and utterly beautiful. I haven’t looked hard at my holiday mini, I’ll have to take a second peek at this bundle, it’s wonderful.

Good Neuve and Sixxy! Love the photos! The one with Uncle Q photo bombing it made me giggle. What character! Thanks for sharing.

I love this card Ann! Those papers are beautiful and the doves and central sentiment really make the most of this layout. Beautiful! Congratulations to the pups too!

  5. Oh, so calmingly beautiful! The background is a perfect counterbalance to the doves. Congratulations to The Boxer Gang! Uncle Q reminds me of my rascally kitty Marco Polo…he was exactly like that!

I loved hearing from Nueve. Congrats to him on him on his big win to Sixxy on her qualification! Uncle Q for sure does his own thing. I laughed out loud hearing about his antics. I also laughed at the picture of you with the 3 pups…you have a grip on Q’s collar. Tooooo funny!!! It’s nice to see a picture of you and the kids. I hope you have time to rest before your next adventure. Huggs from Florida!

  11. Loving your card Ann. In fact I have had that page marked since I received the mini catalog. I think that will be a very popular set.
