Masculine You Can Do Amazing Things Card

Being the mother of one son, Brady, I have made my share of masculine cards throughout the years. My son has saved them all. When I visited him in June, he was displaying some of his favorites in his office. Viewing them was like a walk down memory lane. I created this masculine “You Can Do Amazing Things” card specifically with Brady in mind. The colors will look great with his office decor, while the image will remind him of so many weekend trips he has made to the waterfront. It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players!

This week it is the talented Stef’s turn to host our Theme challenge. Her choice: By the Water! It is a fabulous theme. With so many different “by the water” paper and stamps available, I am expecting a variety of cards in the gallery. I am so excited to see what YOU create! But as I always say, before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my “Teamies” some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

Oops, I did it again! I let the designer paper do all the work. The workhorse this time is one of my favorites, Beautiful Gallery. This pattern was perfect for the “By The Water” theme, and perfect for making a card for Brady. I used one of the Perennial Postage dies to die cut the section of the paper I wanted to use. I then used the same die to cut two backings from lightweight cardboard to add depth and dimension and adhered them to the designer paper. Next, I flipped the original piece of paper (from which I had die cut the scene) over to the coordinating woodgrain side and fit the scene into the die cut space like a puzzle piece. No waste! This card was SO easy…and sometimes easy is best!

Another fabulous card for Brady’s collection Ann – I love the way the reverse design frames that peaceful scene too. These papers are so great!

  2. Oh, the delightful ways to use Beautiful Gallery DSP! This card you created would be welcomed by everyone, but it is a special card for those men in our lives. Well done as usual, Ann!

Ann, I love every detail on this gorgeous card! So clever to use both sides of the DSP. The woodgrain is just perfect to showcase this fabulous water scene! This will certainly brighten someone’s day!

  4. Great masculine card, Ann! Super mix of the papers too while the choice of die really adds a pop of interest. Lovely work!

  5. What a beautiful, calm scene Ann. The boats in the harbor with the cloudy sky and the muted colors look fabulous. And no waste, using both sides of one sheet of dsp, plus the dimension gives additional life to the scene. Gorgeous!

  6. This card is amazing! I love how you added some dimension to the diecut piece and were able to use the reverse side for the background! So clever! The ribbon and sentiment treatment are pretty cool too!

Such a serene, wonderful male card!!

  8. Your card is very serene & I’m sure Brady will treasure it! Beautiful Gallery is such lovely DSP. I love that you flipped the paper to use the backside. Genius!!
    Have a great week!!

  9. Ditto on Bonnielee’s comment, as that is what I pretty much I was going to say.
Brady is going to love and cherish your card.
I just love it when the DSP does all the work for us. Making a bundle of cards for my sister-in-law’s birthday come Nov. using the DSP that I have.
Enjoy your day and the rest of the week.
    Stay safe and keep cool.
