It’s Sunday and time to play with The Paper Players! This week we have a color challenge from Claire, our sweet hostess. When I first saw her hues, my mind turned to Halloween. After all, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie are three of my “go-to” spooky colors. Even the addition of Cherry Cobbler as a fourth color did not sway me from thinking Halloween. However, I decided to go a different route with this color challenge from Claire, as you shall see!

Yep, I went the floral route, and I can’t say I regret my decision. If only you could see this card in real life, with the vibrancy of the Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler petals! While I went the floral route, there are lots of options to pursue with these colors. I can’t wait to see what YOU create. But before you head off to gather your stamps, papers and inks, please stop by and leave my “Teamies” some “Comment Love”. It brightens our day!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
Today’s lovely blossoms from the Gallery Blooms stamp set were colored using Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I LOVE how the petal colors blended so well. They look so vibrant in person. I used the Gallery Bloom dies to create a frame from Marbled Elegance paper. Although it appears black in the photo, the lattice die cut, made using the retired Linked Together die, is actually Blackberry Bliss, as is the sentiment. I wanted to add texture to the overall design, so I went with one of my favorite retired embossing folders … the Crosshatch pattern from the Basics 3D embossing folders collection. However, any subtle pattern would have worked. Because I love the elegant look of Cherry Cobbler and gold, I matted the frame onto gold Textured Metallic paper and added three gold Flower Accents. Out of all the cards I have made throughout the years, I think this is one of my favorites.

Ann, I love how the two layers of your background echo each other and you have used the colors beautifully. Your card is rich in both color and texture. Gorgeous.

So beautiful Ann! I love the mottled frame and trellis detail, but the depth of colour on your blooms is just gorgeous – so rich and unusual to see them coloured in this way. Gorgeous!
Ann, I can see why this card is a favorite. Your coloring of the flowers is extraordinary and I can only imagine the vibrancy IRL. The background texture and the lattice are just a stunning setting for your beautiful flowers! I was thinking of Halloween too but I’m glad you opted for florals!
You have used these colors beautifully! Love the gold accents….love it all, actually!
Beautiful! What’s not to love about this card? You know I’m going to love the textured background. The richly coloured blooms against the lattice is perfect but it’s the touches of gold that knock this one right out of the park. 🙂
That lattice die cut is the perfect touch. It really sets off the flowers. You have a great eye for embossing folders!
Very pretty card! Reds & oranges are not usually my go-to colors but I really like what you’ve done. The flowers are so pretty & are a beautiful focal point!
Ann… gorgeous blending… love the florals!
Yes, this card is beautiful! I love everything about it and I just happen to have this floral bundle on my desk waiting for me! I may have to do some CAS-ing!
This is one gorgeous card. All I can say is well done!
Wonderful color combination and such a beautiful card you made using those colors.
It so reminds me of a Fall card colored card cause it is something different besides fallen leaves, pumpkins, etc.
Great coloring by the way.
Enjoy your day.
Absolutely beautiful!
Gorgeous!
