Thank You For Everything

I think thank you cards are so important. They serve as a visual reminder of how much you appreciate someone’s kindness.  I make more thank you cards than any other type of card.  This floral “Thank You For Everything” card is heading out to a very special person.  I hope she likes it. It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players!

Thank You For Everything
This week sweet Claire has a sketch for us. You know me and sketches! A good sketch definitely serves as the foundation for any card. Claire’s sketch is SO versatile. While you can use any shape as the focal element, I used a circle to serve as the backdrop for a bouquet of dainty floral die cuts. I can’t wait to see what YOU create!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

The Dainty Delight dies were used to make this lovely bouquet which will brighten up anyone’s day. I used a Lost Lagoon print from the Inked Botanicals designer series paper collection to create the leaves, while Crushed Curry and Early Espresso cardstocks were used to create the daisies. A Lemon Lolly print from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ designer series paper collection and Bubble Bath Soft Shimmer paper were used to create the other flowers in this sweet little nosegay.

Ponderings From The Princess

Hey everybody! It’s me, Princess Sixx!  I have amazing news, and my mom is going to let me share it.  Not only am I a Princess, I am now a CHAMPION Princess! I became a champion in Florida. Michelle came with us and showed me.  The judge liked me SO much, not only was I a winner, I was Best of Winners!  Michelle was in my favorite color, pink. I look good with her in pink.  See how big my ribbon is!

Thank you for everything

Here is a picture of me the next day with the judge and Michelle:

Thank You For EverythingHe thought I was very pretty. He touched my face a lot while Michelle was helping me pose pretty. We took another picture, too, where Michelle was sitting down and admiring me. The judge is admiring me, too.

Thank You for everything

I’m sad because my show career is done. But Mom said I could work on being a trick dog, and I can also do FastCAT like Uncle Jackie did before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. In FastCAT you get to run really fast and chase a white bag. Uncle Jackie LOVED to run. Here is a picture of him running:

Doesn’t he look awesome? I’m going to be FastCAT Champion just like him!  Nueve showed at the dog show, too. He became a Bronze Grand Champion, and he won a bunch of ribbons. Here he is looking adoringly at Michelle:

Thank you for Everything

I can look adoringly at people, too, except I prefer to have people look adoringly at me! When you are a Princess, people adore you. Here are Michelle and Nueve in the show ring. She wore sparkly pants when she showed him. Here she is, looking adoringly at his tail. You have to hold your tail up when you are standing pretty in the show ring. Nueve is looking adoringly at meatballs. He gets to eat meatballs when he stands and looks handsome.

Thank you for everything

Nueve and I spent 14 sleeps on the road. But when we were in Tampa, Mom made sure we had a house so we could have a yard to run in.  We packed lots of toys, so we had things to play with.  thank you for everything

The only problem with the yard was that Mom got stung by fire ants. She had 9 stings on her ankle.  We think she stepped into a nest when she was outside with us at night. Her ankle looks awful. She’s got big blisters and got dizzy and sick to her tummy.  A fire ant even came inside the house on her pants. But she’s a good mom.  She said she was glad it was her that got stung instead of me or Nueve.  I licked her face to make her feel better. Nueve did, too. Then we both looked at her adoringly. It’s just something we do. I am a working dog…and a Princess!

  1. Very pretty and colorful card. It would cheer anyone up. How fun to read about Princess and her win.

  2. Joanne James - The Crafty Owl

This card is beautiful Ann and I love the floral bouquet you created. I find the colour combo a real surprise – I would never have chosen it but it works so well. This card is really pretty! Congratulations to the pups on their wins – Princess Sixx is such a superstar!

  3. Ann, what a gorgeous profusion of florals – just beautiful. Congrats on the wins…. and ouch on the fire ants – those guys are nasty!
    hugs

  4. What a delightful bouquet you created….and I think I now MUST have some of that ribbon…it’s yummy! Congrats to the pups on all their wins….how exciting. Not so exciting about the fire ants. When I visited my aunt in FL, that was the FIRST thing she told us about! Hope your ankle is better!!

  5. This is such a pretty card, Ann! You’ve created it in a group of colors I wouldn’t think to combine, but they’re really great together and show very well against the white embossed background.
    Xoxo, Fran

  6. Beautiful card!!! I hope your foot is better!! Fire Ants are the pits!!! Congratulations Princess Sixx!!! Retiring can be the pits but it sounds like you have plans so that is good!!

  7. Claire Broadwater

Ann, this card is beyond gorgeous!!!!!!! Holy cow–every detail draws you in. The embossing, the ribbon and all those beautiful blooms to make this bouquet. The color combo is so pretty, too! YOU certainly made my sketch SHINE this week.
Now, on to Miss Sixx—whoop whoop! She is just so fabulous! Congratulations!

  8. A charming card and beautiful dogs. Love them and congrats to both. Thanks so much for sharing your dogs, I look forward to seeing their pictures. Don’t stop doing that!

  9. Ann, your card is gorgeous! The lucky person getting it is going to love it!

Congratulations, to your Princess Sixx……….and to Nueve!

  10. Ann, your card is wonderful. I love the collage you put together. Oh, if I had known, I would have come to the show. It’s only 2 1/2 hr. from me if you showed in Tampa and 1 hr. from Venice. Congrats to the Princess and Nueve. I always love Michele’s dresses! Fire ants are despicable!! I can be anywhere and they will walk miles to find me! I usually put vinegar and ice on the bites and that calms them down. I have a friend who is in the same boat but they will even get into the house to find him!! Hope the itch and pain subsides quickly.

  11. Great sketch and such a beautiful card Ann.
Congratulations to Sixx and Nueve on your wins
I also make A lot of Thank You cards.
As of right now I have 60 thank you cards done for Veterans Day (Nov. 11) of which will be going to a restaurant and handed out to the veterans that come in and eat. Each card is different in some way, shape or form.
I have another batch of cards started that will be taken to the American Legion for all the Veterans there.
    Have a great day.
    Hugs to Sixx and Nueve

  12. Congratulations Princess Sixx and Nueve! Hope your Mom is feeling better. Fire ant bites can be very nasty.

  13. Bonnielee McGuire

Absolutely gorgeous, as are the babies! Oh, and Michelle too of course. Why does the sign say Venice, FL? That’s where I live! I have a funny story to tell you about fire ants but will do that more privately : ) I’m sure you don’t see anything funny about them right now. The retired list is amazing, I need more time to look at that. Thanks for everything.

    • Hi, Bonnie! The Greater Venice Dog Club is the kennel club who sponsored this particular show. Several kennel clubs got together and did 8 shows at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Also included was the Sarasota KC, Central Florida Working Dog Club, St. Petersburg Dog Club, Tampa Bay Boxer Club, and some other breed specialty clubs. It was a huge show, with 16 rings.
