An Elegant Christmas Card for PP416

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the talented Anne Marie has a sketch challenge for us.  How fun is that! Like I have always said, a good sketch is the foundation of any card…and this sketch is awesome!

elegant Christmas cardI have been waiting for the perfect sketch on which to use All Is Bright Designer Series Paper, and this one fit the bill. I hope you enjoy today’s elegant Christmas card.

I love the look of Mossy Meadow and Gold Foil together.  It’s elegant, yet warm.   I started with a Gold Foil card base, and added a layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock which had been embossed with the Swirls & Curls Textured Impression™ Embossing Folder. This is such an elegant folder, and although only a small section is peeking out, it adds needed texture.  Notice how I also embossed the Gold Foil band.

elegant Christmas cardThe sentiment, from the Peaceful Noel stamp set, was heat embossed in gold onto Mint Macaron cardstock.  Like all of the panels on the card, it was matted onto Gold Foil. The mint colored cardstock coordinates well with the designer paper, and is a much softer look than Whisper White or Very Vanilla.

elegant Christmas cardWhen I was finished,  my original card, looked like this:

While pretty, it just seemed to be a little too plain for me.  Even my husband, Kim, thought it needed a little something.  Luckily I had the new Snowfall Thinlits Dies.  These thinlits will be available for purchase for a limited time beginning November 1 – 30.  I die cut the swirl of snowflakes from Gold Foil, and adhered them to the Cherry Cobbler panel.  Of course, I just had to add red rhinestones to the snowflakes, so I removed them from the sentiment, and added a few more.
