Holly Berry Happiness Cards for The Paper Players

img_1738-001The Paper Players had a lovely sketch this week which is the foundation for today’s card.  I always love it when layers are tilted, and Sandy’s sketch is a classic!  This card, which features the Holly Berry Happiness set,  is quick and easy.  Since I couldn’t decide on a background for the plaid panel, I photographed both of them.

img_1750Maybe I’ll emboss the Cherry Cobbler panel with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and create a third version. But, that will have to wait for later! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.

Because this card is so simple, it needs very little explanation, other than the Holly image.   Here is a little “Mini-Tutorial” to explain how to recreate the look.

  1. Create a 2-1/2” Whisper White oval and coordinating Gold Foil scalloped oval with the Layering Ovals framelits. Emboss the white oval with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and layer onto the gold foil oval.  Adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  2. Stamp the Bow and Holly Spray Outlines in Archival Basic Black ink. Use the correlating solid images with Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green inks to fill in.  Snip out the spray, and punch out the bow with the Holly Berry Builder Punch.  Adhere to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  3. Stamp and fill in two Single Leaves. Add to the spray as pictured, popping up on dimensionals.
  4. Embellish with Pearls as shown.

Holly Berry Happiness is a fun holiday set.  In case you are inspired to create other projects with it, here are a card and gift box I made earlier this year.

  1. Very pretty card! I love the gold foil detail with the plaid background!

  2. My favorite of the cards is the first one on that great embossed background and that little box is such a great project too! I really like that plaid paper!!!

  3. Your signature pearls are perfect on the holly leaves. Love the embossed oval behind them. Both cards are beautiful, but I think I like the cable knit embossed one best.

  4. LOVE ’em all!! I have yet to buy the Cable Knit Embossing Folder but seeing your cards, I may have to add it to my list! 🙂

  5. Ann I absolutely LOVE how you did these! The stacked holly leaves and bow, with the plaid is FANTASTIC! Every color looks great and special… love the plaid! Hugs.

  6. I love the white cable knit background; provides a crisp wintry background for the holly. The pearls add a touch of snowflakes to the scene! Another great creation, Ann!

  7. Gorgeous cards as usual Ann, but if I had to choose, I think the white cable knit background looks so awesome. Such a clean pretty, cold and snowy feel to it.

  8. So polished and sophisticated for the holidays! Love the dash of texture.

  9. Eva ulous creation as always and the flowers are amazing……TFS!

  10. Ann it’s always a joy to see one of your cards in gallery, and I love both versions today! Also love the gift box, wow is that gorgeous! So glad you played along with my sketch this week at The Paper Players!

  11. Chris R. from Iowa

Hard to choose but something about the white cable has such warm eye appeal. Actually though I like the 3rd version with the holly on the left and the red plaid the best! I usually love my greens but something about the red plaid just really drew me in and then that box is even better! Yet, if I happen to find one of these cards in my mailbox it will be my favorite!

  12. Gorgeous cards Ann – I think I am favouring the white with the cable knit embossing one, I just love all the texture on your card! I am loving the gold borders in the layering too – these cards are so elegant and have a wonderfully luxurious feel to them. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week – always a pleasure to see you in the gallery!

  13. Very pretty card! What stamp set was used for the sentiment?

    • Thanks! The sentiment is from a retired set called Peaceful Wreath. The only reason I did not sell this set is because of this one sentiment. However, “Peace” can be found in a few current sets, namely Banners for Christmas (Peaceful), Stitched with Cheer (Peace & Happiness to you and those you love), both from the Holiday Catalog, and Reason for the Season and Holly Jolly Greetings from the Annual Catalog. I was in a hurry this morning, and grabbed my favorite Peace! lol

  14. THey are both beautiful, but I am partial to the white embossed background! But really, they both are gorgeous in their traditional colors and images! And I just found a geranium outside with a couple of buds trying to bloom!! Thanks for playing with us, always happy to have to with us, Ann!

  15. Warm and cozy for the holidays! Both cards are terrific…..love the gold!

  16. Love the cable knit background. I’m going to buying that soon as well as some others items with Christmas money!

  17. Your cards are always so classy…. I prefer the red background but would like your ‘3rd’ version…the red to be embossed… beautiful cards, no matter which…
