Merry Mice for Freshly Made Sketches

img_1316

I have always loved the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I remember filling in for the talented Rita Wright during her leave of absence a few years back.  Although I am a vintage and distressed gal at heart, I LOVE a clean card and admire those who are masters at creating them, like the designers at FMS.  I was thrilled to have a few spare minutes this evening to create a card specifically for Jennifer Brum’s classic sketch.  I hope you enjoy this Merry Mice card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ tall.

Our sweet, caroling mouse is sporting a Mint Macaron shirt and hat, Soft Suede pants, and a Cherry Cobbler scarf.  To simulate water coloring, I used Blender Pens and inks.  Isn’t he just adorable? I wish you could see the Clear Wink of Stella on the snowflakes, whiskers and tail.  It’s so subtle, but adds just the perfect amount of shimmer.

A strip of Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper adds a splash of festive color, while Emerald Envy Taffeta Ribbon adds a touch of texture.  Even more texture is imparted with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I don’t usually create what I would call “cutesy” cards, but this one is an exception.  Who can resist this little guy?  I can’t wait to use the rest of the images in this set.   This may be the year when everyone on my Christmas card list receives a different design. How fun would that be!
