Love Sparkles … An Occasions’ Sneak Peek

img_1296

Woo hoo!  I am taking advantage of some free time to play with new stamp sets from the Occasions Catalog.  As I mentioned yesterday, these are sets I received at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage event this past weekend.  Today’s card is made using the “Thank You” sentiment from the Love Sparkles set.  I am entering it in The Paper Players’ “Count Your Blessings” challenge.  In this challenge, we are being asked the question, “For what are we thankful?” I am thankful for a friend who is making Jackie a new show lead.  Because she loves fairies and pixies, I thought this card would be perfect for her.  Enjoy!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ when folded.

The Watercolor Wash background stamp was used to create the background for this card.  I colored the stamp with Pool Party, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers.  I then spritzed it with a little Stampin’ Mist cleaner to allow the colors to bleed.  I usually use water, but I had a dog sleeping on my feet, and didn’t want to disturb his slumber by waking him up and running upstairs to fill my empty spritzer.  The Stampin’ Mist worked just fine.

img_1289The sentiment and trail of stardust was inked in Archival Basic Gray ink.  Rhinestones and Clear Wink of Stella add the perfect sparkly touch!

The adorable little pixie-in-flight is sporting Bitty Butterfly Punch wings inked in Soft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum.  Wink of Stella “fairy dust” accents her Soft Sky dress.  As you may have noticed, she is carrying a Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper wand with a Silver Metallic Star tip.  Don’t you just LOVE it?

img_1306I really think the font in this stamp set is adorable.  It will work well with several other sets I own…and with new ones in the upcoming Occasions Catalog.

img_1308-001I hope you enjoyed today’s peek! I really need to be working on holiday cards, but I am having so much fun with these new sets.  However, I do have a couple of Christmas card designs in my head, so stay tuned!

As always, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  I’ll leave you with a picture of my #1 Squirrel Watcher.  Until next time…

Like I usually say, it is all in the details and boy, what details you have! Love it. I am not big into fairies and such but your card and the other are just too much fun. Love that background. Maybe you could call it a different technique since you used the Stampin Mist instead of water. Do I dare ask who was sleeping – Jack or Brody? What are the others up to these days?
