Seaside Shore for Pals Paper Arts

IMG_3220-001It’s Thursday…and time to play at PPA! This week our fun sketch is courtesy of Mary Fish.  I thought the three squares would be perfect for showing off the three fish images from the Seaside Shore stamp set.  In fact, this would be a versatile sketch for showcasing trios of any similar images.  I kept the card clean and simple, and used patterns from the By the Shore Designer Series Paper collection.  I hope you enjoy this week’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This folded card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

Don’t you love it when Designer Paper makes our job easier?  The subtle background paper in shades of blue imitated the depths of the ocean, and seemed a perfect choice to set off the three squares.  What an awesome summer vibe it gives off when paired with the busier Calypso Coral “Starfish” pattern!

I stamped all three fish images in Dapper Denim, and easily snipped them out.  Popped atop Stampin’ Dimensionals, they add depth and dimension to the card.  Of course, I could not resist adding pearl eyes.

What better sentiment for a nautical card than “Ahoy, there!”  Once again, I put my paper snips to work.  Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to “pop” it up.

Even with the paper snipping, it did not take long to create today’s card. I actually spent more time trying to track down the origin of the word “ahoy”.  Suffice it to say, I really did not find a satisfactory answer, although I did find a plethora of trivia along the way!

As always, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  6. Super cute and simple card for your sketch challenge. I DO understand the “search” though… can’t tell you how many times I go on the “hunt” for something and either 1) get side tracked and forget what I was after… or 2). give up only to find it right under my nose after the hunt through 40 drawers! Hugs

  7. Perfect card for the start of summer!
