It’s Thursday…and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week, Lisa Ann Bernard has provided us with a classic sketch. Feeling the urge to play with products from the new catalog, I pulled out the Birthday Fiesta stamp set. Now you might be thinking, “This does not really look like a set Ann Schach would purchase.” If you thought this, you are right! But at the urging of my son, Brady, I bit the bullet and ordered it. And you know what…I discovered I LOVE it and the adorable coordinating Festive Birthday Designer Series paper. I think it is the llama which captured my heart. In fact, you’ll see a second card I created with this set coming up in a few weeks when I rejoin the crew at The Paper Players as a one-time guest…but more about that in another post. I hope you enjoy today’s card!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card is 4-1/4″ wide and 5-1/2″ long when folded.
- Do the mambo! What do you do when you don’t have a Melon Mambo doily, and you absolutely, positively want to use one? Why, you just create your own! I used a brayer to color the back of a 2015 – 2017 In Color doily. These happen to be white on the back. Ta-DA!!! Instant Melon Mambo doily!

- Bump it up! To make this Emerald Envy Cactus appear closer, I bumped it up on Stampin’ Dimensionals, while using SNAIL to adhere the cactus in the background. The Melon Mambo circles are from the new Brights Enamel Shapes. I LOVE them!

- Party on! Someone said the sentiment “Fiesta like there’s no mañana” isn’t grammatically correct, but I still think it is cute. This time I inked it in Archival Basic Black, and created a banner. I like that you can selectively ink the word “Fiesta” and just use it, if you would like.

What do you think of this set? One of the pluses is you can purchase it as a bundle with the Fiesta Time Framelits Dies so you do not have to fussy cut the coordinating images. What a time saver! Hopefully I will be able to send this card out after this weekend. We will be in Wheaton, IL for the Tree Town Boxer Specialty, and if Jackie wins, we will definitely be Fiesta-ing like there is no tomorrow! As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away!

So cute, Ann! Love seeing this suite up close and personal. Great idea to have the llama don a sombrero!
Ann, I taught high school Spanish for 30 years and I never found an appropriate translation for the English verb “to party”…so don’t be worried that it’s not grammatically correct. It’s the sentiment behind it that makes it perfectly acceptable!! Now that I see your tarjeta magnífica (magnificent card), I want that set!
I just love this, Ann! This set is such fun and your card definitely reflects that! Are Enamel Dots taking over for pearls? They’re perfect on this card!
This puts me in full fiesta mode. Love all the cropped party elements!
After I got the designer series paper and saw how pretty it is, I too liked this suite a lot better
Oh that llama is so darn cute! This card is adorable…..so bright and fun!
What a fun card! And, yes, this does not look like an ‘Ann’ set. Glad Brady talked you into it. Best of luck this weekend.
Fun fun card Ann! I was on the fence about this set but you are making it much more alluring! And, like the others, I was surprised that it was your card.
Ann this is ADORABLE! Love the “fun” feel to it and it would make a great card for my dear friend in AZ. Love the bright colors and the whole layout is just FUN! Hugs
I didn’t realize it was your card on the site either until I saw your name. Talk about getting out of the comfort zone or thinking outside the box! But, this is a fun set and a very fun card. Love all the little details. As they would say on that old Saturday Night Live sketch – “Party on Garth!”
I saw your card on Paper Pals first and didn’t even realize it was yours…where are the pearls? So cute though and thanks for the tip about the brayer. I wouldn’t have thought of that. Good luck to your handsome boy Jackie!
Wow Ann, I love this card! So bright and festive, it will bring a big smile to the recipient’s face for sure!
