It’s Thursday…and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! It has been several weeks since I typed these words into a post. But here I am, back on the Pals Paper Arts Design Team. There have been some changes made and our challenge blog has a new look, as you will note. Plus, there is a Sketch Team and a Color Team. I am on the Sketch Team. I hope you will enjoy today’s card, which features the Botanical Gardens Suite from the Occasions Catalog.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips … The Botanical Gardens Suite
This folded card measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.
- Tropical delight! The Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous, and a great choice for a layout such as we see in this sketch. For my coordinating card stock, I selected Mint Macaron, Basic Black and Cajun Craze. Of course, every paper looks a little better when wearing Pearls!
- The Star of the Show! Who can deny this stunning flower is the star of this card! Creating it was a breeze. I simply zipped card stock through the Big Shot with the appropriate framelits from the Botanical Builder collection. What’s great is it folds flat for mailing.
- The perfect sentiment! Since the Botanical Blooms stamp set does not include any sentiments, I turned to another bloomin’ set, Birthday Blooms. I am absolutely in love with its three sentiments. Since this card will be winging its way to a dear friend, what could be more perfect? I attribute the crispness of the stamping to Archival Basic Black Ink. It is my new go-to black.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. One of my goals this year is to actually send out the cards I make, so this one is headed to a dear friend who is a fellow demonstrator. I hope it passes muster. It always makes me a wee bit nervous to send out my cards to other stampers. But regardless, good or bad, my cards will be heading out to blogging friends and family!
Before I say good-by, let me include a picture of one of my little stamping helpers, Kia. Kia and her littermates turned 9 months old on the 4th.
You might remember how little Kia loved sleeping in her Daddy’s arms. Well, here she is, fifty pounds heavier.
As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

So glad you are back! A beautiful card to start the new year with rich colors and a gorgeous flower! Looks like Kia is still a snuggler!
Ann, so glad you are back at PPA. I love the snowflake in the flower today.
Beautiful card, Anne! So fun to see some of the new items! So Kia is still a lap dog for nap time…….so funny!
What a fun and rich card! Love the touch of pearls on there. That flower attached to the sentiment is just the best! Looking forward to more stunning creations from you.
Ah Kia is so cute in daddy’s arms! Such a difference 9 months makes!
I am so glad you decided to come back to the team. I love seeing your take on the challenges. Gorgeous card. Beautiful colors and details in the layers.
Gorgeous card, Ann! Love the use of the black to set everything off and that sentiment is perfect. Welcome back!
Ann this is so pretty! Love your sketch too… This can go from simple to complex depending on the DSP used too. I am happy to see some flowers as I’m tired of the snow.
I did noticed the new site for PPA and I like the two teams idea too. Looking forward to the 2016 energy. I am soooooo busy and on the road more and more with work, that I tend to CASE a LOT! Hugs.
What a gorgeous card! The colors are so rich and you have the perfect balance of pattern!
