Reason for the Season for The Paper Players

IMG_4894-001It’s been quite some time since I have made a card.  Caring for my husband, who had been quite ill, and taking care of the mini-Muffins, caused me to place stamping on the back burner.  But the passing of fall and the advent of winter has put me in a reflective mood, and the urge to create is slowly returning.  What better way to get back into card making than with a challenge?

Today’s card was designed for The Paper Players Challenge # 271 “Clean and Simple Christmas”.   Enjoy!

pp271The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.

  • Glitter! The Festive Flower Builder Punch was used to create the leaves of this poinsettia.  The veins were stamped with Soft Suede, and then traced using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.   A wash of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter creates a flower which is so stunning in person.

  • A vintage touch! The vintage styled sentiment was inked in Soft Suede.  The Curvy Corner Trio Punch created a wonderful accent…especially when embellished with pearls.

  • Diamonds and pearls! The diamond embossed background, accented with pearls, was created using the Diagonal Plate and the Simply Scored tool.

Jackie’s First Time in the Ring

Of course, no post would be complete without a picture of one of the mini-Muffins.  Although this picture is a month old, it captures Jack’s love of the show ring.  He is just like Muffy in that respect!

IMG_4544These past few weeks he is recovering from surgery.  Unfortunately he had a reaction to a spider bite, and the necrotic tissue had to be removed.

Jack Headshot after surgeryBut he is doing great, and will be back in the ring strutting his stuff the first weekend in December!

I hope you enjoyed today’s card, and the pictures of Jack. Of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

I have been looking to pick up the ‘Reason for the Season’ stamp set but hadn’t realised as a relative newbie to Stampin’ Up that there had been an accompanying punch.
