The Stamp Review Crew: Mixed Bunch Edition

It’s time for another round of inspiration from The Stamp Review Crew.  If this is your very first visit, we are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators whose mission is to do a blog hop on the first and third Mondays of each month. Our hops are unique because each of us  features the same stamp set.  The result is that you see the versatility of the set and the amazing things you can create with it.  This week we are featuring Mixed Bunch.  I am Stop #14 on the hop. You may have just left Stop #13: the incredible Kerry Willard Bray. Her work is always fabulous.  Since I am still needing Christmas cards, I could not overlook the opportunity to create a holiday card using the Mixed Bunch stamp set. Enjoy today’s hop!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Lovely in layers! The Ornate Blossom from Mixed Bunch was inked in Cherry Cobbler and stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock.  This was repeated for a total of three blossoms.  One was punched using the Blossom Punch, and two were hand snipped. They were then layered using dimensionals.  The Ornate Center was also inked in Cherry Cobbler and punched using the 3/4″ Circle Punch.

  • Lovely in pearls! The center oval was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Since each of those little dots was crying out for a pearl, I obliged.

  • Lovely in lace! The Filigree Frame Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds a touch of lacy elegance to the corners of this card.  What an easy way to step-up any card!

What do you think of today’s card? Does it look “holiday-ish” enough to send out?  I hope so, because the addressing marathon starts tomorrow.  Woo hoo! If you remember, I was really late sending out cards last year.  Now there are those who will argue that ten days before Christmas is not early…but for me it is!  Of course, if you have questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Now scoot along and visit the rest of the hoppers.  Next up is #1 on the list, the talented and creative Nancy Smith! If you get lost along the way, visit The Stamp Review Crew for a list of all the hoppers. Until next time…
