It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players. This week the talented Sandy is hosting a Clean and Simple challenge with a twist: Use gold or silver on your project. Because Muffy and I are on the road and I was pressed for creating time, I was thrilled this card came together so quickly and easily. It also helped that I had a fabulous sketch to use…last week’s Freshly Made Sketches #157. Enjoy!
The Stampin’ Schach’s Design Tips
This finished card is 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Seeing stars! The star focal point of this card was made by using the Star Framelits, Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper, and Brushed Gold cardstock. A Gold Basic Metal Button with a Gold Metallic Baker’s Twine bow is the perfect accent. Don’t you love how the Tree design peeks through the cutout?
- Very merry! The “Merry” sentiment is from one of my favorite holiday sentiment sets, Endless Wishes. Call me crazy, but I just might buy a second Endless Wishes set to keep forever…just in case something would ever happen to my original set. That’s how much I LOVE this set.
- Lovely layers! Yes, I may have gone a wee bit overboard with the layers on this card, but I like how Brushed Gold looks with Cherry Cobbler. The card base is the new Kraft cardstock, which coordinates perfectly with the Under the Tree collection.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I think it has a touch of country elegance. What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me. Of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…

Ann this card is all kinds of gorgeous!! I love the layering and the inlaid star which has so much interest. Christmas country chic indeed!
Ann, this color combo is fabulous – so rich. The repetition of the stars on the embossing folder and on the front of the card make my heart happy! Gorgeous card.

Love that you managed to use several layers but still make this clean and simple. Love the peek-a-boo star and your use of the Kraft DSP. Gorgeous!

Agreed it is a touch of country – but it’s sophisticated and less busy. Terrific color combos and love the star embossing background. Very nice Ann.
Awwwww beautiful card Ann and I also love the pattern paper. Nicely coordinated, thanks
Ann, this card emanates country! I am in love with all those wonderful layers and layout! Looks like you have some stenciled pasted stars on that background…perfect!
Lovely card, Ann; and all those layers! Noticed no pearls, but that is ok! Brings to mind such a wonderful scene: curled up on the couch in front of a glowing fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate or apple cider; watching the snow gently falling outside and gazing at the Christmas tree with the lights sparkling off the decorations with Christmas music playing in the background! My favorite time of year!
Very inspiring card, Ann! Thank you for sharing. I love those layers!
Your card has such a country charm feel to it, so soft and warm, I LOVE it! The layers of colors work perfect together.
Your layered star is awesome! I love the elegant but country feel of your card. Very pretty!
