Easy Fall Fest for Pals Paper Arts

It’s Thursday and time to play with the Pals at Pals Paper Arts!  This week is a color challenge: Tangelo Twist, Basic Black, Very Vanilla.  To me, the colors screamed “Halloween”.  I pulled out the Fall Fest stamp set, along with the adorable Halloween sentiment from Mingle All the Way, and created my own little pumpkin patch. I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Great pumpkins! While Charlie Brown’s friend Linus may have been waiting all night for the Great Pumpkin to show up, Stampin’ Up! blessed us with great pumpkins in the Fall Fest set. Suitable just for fall, or stamped as jack-o-lanterns, these pumpkins are awesome!  I added Always Artichoke stems and Linen Thread bows to dress them up.
  • Cute to the max! The adorable Halloween sentiment from the Mingle All the Way stamp set is the reason I purchased this set.  I inked it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and filled in the outlined letters using a Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • Typeset and texture! Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper pairs perfectly with 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon.  The subtle print does not detract from either the pumpkins or the sentiment!

As you can see, I removed the stitching from the sides of the burlap ribbon. I am never quite sure whether to leave it on or rip it out.  What about you? What do you do when you use ribbon with edges like this? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? As always, your comments are important to me. And remember…if you ever have a question about the cards I create, or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…

  1. Super cute Ann! I can almost hear your “Jack-O-Lanterns” singing the sentiment. Love it!

  2. These are the cutest pumpkins, Ann! And I would never think to put the little “patch” at the top of the card ~ clever!

  3. What a fun collection! It made me smile!

  4. Ann, this is such an adorable card. Those pumpkins are absolutely delightful! It is such a fun Halloween card!

As to your question regarding whether or not to remove the stitching on the burlap ribbon, I always leave the stitching on the long edge of the burlap ribbon and just snip off remnants of the thread if I fray the ends. It never occurred to me to remove the stitching but maybe you are on to something! Update us with your thoughts!

  5. Love your card and all the texture you added by using the Typeset dsp and linen thread!

  6. That is so cute, I’m still smiling! Love the bows. I guess I remove edges if I want to fray the ribbon. Thanks for sharing.

  10. So cute! love your little pumpkin guys and the linen thread is fab!
I have to ask if you “really” the new tangelo twist… so far I do NOT… it’s just seems like a dirty orange. I try and try but it look like I stamp my orange pad by mistake after I was using a Basic Brown! Never an even color. Do you have any tricks?
