It’s time to play with The Paper Players! I am excited to be the host of our theme challenge this week: Happy Fall, Y’all! Fall is my favorite time of year. I can feel it in the air! I love the crisp temperatures… the turning leaves..pumpkins…apple cider! I love it all…so happy fall, y’all! Let’s celebrate with a quick and easy Fall Fest card!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.
- When the frost is on the pumpkin! I love the trio of pumpkins from Fall Fest…and I like to switch up the colors. Some are inked in Tangelo Twist while one is inked in Cajun Craze. Always Artichoke stems were snipped out and adorned with Linen Thread bows. Of course, a little distressing was in order, so I used Soft Suede and a Sponge Dauber to ink the edges.
- The colors of fall! A trio of Leaves, once again from the Fall Fest set, were inked in Hello Honey, Always Artichoke, and Cajun Craze. The stems were camouflaged with pearls, and the edges were distressed like the pumpkins.
- Hello fall! What a perfect sentiment for this challenge! I inked the Hello Fall sentiment from For All Things twice…once in Soft Suede and once in Cajun Craze. I then cut out the Fall part and overlayed it. In retrospect, I think I will re-do the sentiment and use Stampin’ Write Markers and selectively ink. But as they say, “Hindsight is 20-20!”
The Muffy Chronicles
I am actually writing this post in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin where Muffy and I are staying while she attends the Kenosha Kennel Club dog show in Wilmot. Muffy had a wonderful day in the ring Saturday, winning Best of Opposite, losing only to her half-brother, GR CH CH Happy’s Tails Kit Kat Saves the Day and Stealsaheart, who won Best of Breed. My guess is that the results will be the same for today…especially since Muffy was stung by a bee Thursday night. Prednisone brought down the swelling on her face, but she still has a few hives.
However, she had so much fun at the show. After she was done, we “meeted and greeted” people. She is such a great ambassador for the Boxer breed. Oh…and in case you ever wondered, she LOVES motels. However, she is a pillow hog. Seriously, Muffy…do you really need all FOUR pillows?
I hope you enjoyed today’s card! I am not happy with the sentiment, so I can’t wait until I return home to change it. I will be interested in knowing what you think? Won’t you let me know in your comment today? Your comments are important to me. And remember, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

A fabulous card, Ann! Love the cluster of pumpkins in all their shades of fall. The pearl accents and sweet linen bows just steal my heart! Love it!
Anne, you have created so much gorgeous texture on this card. I love the horizontal stripes from the woodgrain embossing folder, paired with the vertical stripes of the pumpkins. The tied twine is just a fabulous way to finish them off

Love your card, Ann,and especially love hearing all about Muffy. She’s a doll and I hope get gets all the points she needs!! I love dogs anyway, but hearing about her sheet and pillows at the motel was the neatest!! What a darling she is in those pictures. On the card sentiment, personally I do not like the exclamation point on that saying at all!! It reads like, “FALLI” I actually cut the exclamation point off my stamp and use it as HELLO FALL. That exclamation point isn’t needed and myabe it’s the font they used that bothers me. Anyway, I do like how you colored it. Keep sharing pictures of your cutie Muffy with us!! Smiles, Laura
I love your fall card and I LIKE the way you did the sentiment! I don’think you need to ‘re-do’ it. Also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your Muffy!:)
This is such a beautiful fall card. And your dogs are just cute stuff!
TFS
Ann, I love this card. The only problem I have with this sentiment is the exclamation point is so close to the last L of fall that I don’t think it shows up very well when stamped. I like your idea of using markers and selective coloring the letters, that way the exclamation point can be colored different so it shows better.
woow Ann I love the pumpkin on your card and the texture behind it really great fall card and I just joining again the challenge at paper players hope you like to visiting my blog and see my Fall card..would be so happy to get some love from you…hugs, Monika
What a fabulous fall card!! I LOVE IT!! I hated to hear about Muffy’s bee sting! Bless her heart! I hope she is doing much better! 🙂
That’s a truly beautiful card -and dog too : )
Ann I absolutely love your card. I really like how you used three colors for your pumpkins, but I must say… I never thought about cajun craze. Very interesting. I also wanted to ask does the tangelo twist seem “brown” to you. Mine is very brown, and I was expecting more orange? just saying.
Love Muffy on her sheet… so cute. hugs .
I so love fall and your card evokes great anticipation to me for the crisp, cool days soon to come. The pumpkins and leaves are beautiful and the pearls sure do dress it up. Love this, Ann!
Hi Ann! Gosh, your card sure makes me long for hayrides, roasted marshmallows, and fleece to keep warm in! The pumpkins are darling, especially with the linen bows! Those tiny leaves are something sweet as well. ; ) Muffy looks like she suffered with that bee sting, poor girl! I’m so sorry she had to go through that. She’s recovering nicely on the bed however. Funny how they take over the bed…mine does as well. It’s just easier to work around them than make them move! lol Have safe travels!
What a great challenge Ann, and what a wonderful “bouquet” of leaves and pumpkins! I love the twine bows on each one. I hope Muffy is feeling better by now, and what a generous Mom you are to share your pillows!
Ann, I love your pumpkin patch with the sweet little leaves and pearls at the side. You always have so many fun details in your cards!
I love your Fall card. The colors that you chose are so perfect! I think your sentiment is perfect and I love that you added the pearls. 🙂 I’m so sorry to read that Muffy was stung by a bee and had an allergic reaction. But very glad to hear that she is taking prednisone and is doing well. 🙂
Mary
One look at Muffy I had wondered if she was stung by a bee! Prednisone does wonders. So glad she still can compete. Oh those brothers, even half brothers trying to steal her spotlight!
The card is wonderful esp with those signature pearls with the pumpkins. Love the distressing. It would be interesting to see the difference in the sentiment but it is fine the way it is if you ask me.
Have a safe trip back.

Lovely pumpkins Ann and I love the colouring, they really stand out against the woodgrain background! Love how you managed to incorporate those signature pearls too!
Lovely fall card…I love the colors you’ve combined! And poor Muffy….I can sympathize with her, having been stung on my face a few years back. I sort of resembled those pumpkins on your card…..!!!
Such a lovely card! The wood grain background combined with those rustic pumpkins and leaves makes me long for fall. Gorgeous colors!
Oh, poor Muffy; so glad you had good medicine to help with the sting! It would be so much fun to see one of her shows; so happy for you that she is having such success. She is a beautiful lady! Love the pictures and stories of the sheet and pillows!
Now, the card, as usual, is a wonderful display of gorgeous fall colors! Love! the distressing and twine bows and, of course, the signature touch of pearls!
Take care, Ann; so appreciate the time you take to share your life and talents with us! Travel safe! Hugs

I hope Muffy recovers quickly from her bee sting. She is a definite cutie!

Those pumpkins sure are popular! Love the cluster on the wood background.
Ah,yes! There is the original Ann Shach vintage card look I love! Love the distressing and of course, the pearl finish! I have been missing your posts but I do understand Muffy’s time table and desire to win. You are a good puppy mom. So sorry to see her poor face with the swelling. Congrats on her win. I hope you have 2 beds as it looks like she is a bed hog as well as a pillow hog! Wish I could meet Muffy and you as well. Wishing Muffy good luck!
Beautiful. I love the pumpkins with the wood grain background!

Ann, I don’t see a darn thing wrong with the sentiment, I like it just the way it is! But I will be interested in seeing what you do differently with it! Love the different colored pumpkins and the twine bows, what a great fall card! I am ready for the season to change myself even though we’ve had a relatively cool summer! Congratulations to Muffy, she sure does look content on that big bed all to herself!
