Welcome back for another round of inspiration from the Stamp Review Crew! This week we are featuring Summer Silhouettes. I am #9 on the hop. You may have just left stop #8: Lisa Young. If so, you are in the right spot.
I had not inked up Summer Silhouettes until today’s card. To be perfectly honest, it scared me a little. But the more I allowed my mind to wander, the more the wheels started turning…and I thought back to my childhood days back on the farm. We had a chicken coop, complete with chicken wire. Vines would wind their way around the wire and bloom so prettily. In certain respects, the Mosaic Border reminded me of the chicken wire…and the basic design behind today’s card took seed. Enjoy!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.
- “Snip”-a-dee-do-dah! The Flowers were inked in Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist, and snipped out along with the Leaves, which were inked in Old Olive. The result is a cascade of leaves and flowers.
- Chicken wire! The Mosaic Border was inked in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped multiple times to simulate wire. Of course, a Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must.
- Deep thoughts! “You’re in My Thoughts”, from A Dozen Thoughts, seemed like the perfect sentiment to add to a card which will be winging its way to a friend who is having surgery. I love the font…don’t you?
As always, if you get lost along the way, the entire list of hoppers can be found on The Stamp Review Crew blog. I hope you have enjoyed the card I created. Does it make you think about vines climbing on a wire? Won’t you let me know in your comment today? And remember…if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Now hop along to #10 on the list, the talented Adriana Benitez. Until next time…

Bold and bright and beautiful Ann. Love the lattice background effect and the colors just pop!
Thanks for the chicken wire image. I hadn’t thought of that. I can imagine this scene in a farm yard now.
That’s some pretty chicken wire 😉
Truly a lovely card and I love hearing how it came about. TFS!
Pretty and cheerful.
Soooo prety and I love your back story of how you got to this design…I love this die and can’t wait to get mine! GORGEOUS card!
Sure does remind me of our chain link fence we had in Houston and there was morning glories on it part of the time and something else flowery another part. I, too, enjoy the stamp review group. Great card!

What a beautiful card! Hard to believe this was the first time you used it because you knocked it out of the park.
Beautiful color combination and I’m in awe of your fussy cutting. Fabulous. And I love that you rolled one edge of the little sentiment banner. Awesome card.
Not only am I impressed with your fussy cutting, Ann, but I can’t believe how perfectly lined up your background is! Wow!
Beautiful, Ann. You did a fantastic job with your chicken wire. Love the color combo, too.
Beautiful card! I can’t believe you haven’t used it yet. lol I never thought about it looking like chicken wire! lol
Absolutely wonderful!! Especially when you apply the story. And thanks again for this Stamp Review Crew idea – I love seeing what the others thought up.
Beautiful card Ann, also reminds me of the vines that wound themselves through the fences.
You’re so right about the wire, Ann! The snipping sure paid off, it looks awesome! Wonderful card!
Beautiful.
Yes, I can see morning glories or a clematis climbing up on the chicken wire.
