(This is my second post for today. To view my Paper Players Design Team card, scroll down.)

It has been hectic here at The Stampin’ Schach.  There have been happy tears and sad tears…and a whole lot of snipping and coloring going on, too!

Let’s start out with important Stampin’ Up! news!

And now onto Boxer Updates!

Lexi and I spent six days on the road in Kalamazoo, MI last week.  While I was looking forward to spending time stamping…I had brought along Lesson of the Month cards to finish up…I was thrown head first into a situation that encompassed all of my waking hours. With her assistant unable to make the trip, Lexi’s handler was left without any help.  In addition to assisting in getting dogs groomed and in the show ring, I agreed to room with and take care of four Boxers and a Great Dane.  All were very sweet dogs, and I survived…with no time for stamping or relaxing! I was up at the crack of dawn and in bed late. But what a new experience! I just love Otis the Dane.

Lexi did a fabulous job showing, and scored a MAJOR win! Just won more victory, and she will become Champion Lexi Lou! I will be certain to post her win picture just as soon as I receive it.  It’s hard to believe that we almost lost her in January.  She is so sleek and sassy now!

And guess who else is returning to the show ring this summer to pursue her Grand Champion title? Yep! Champion Do You Know the Muffin Man will be heading back and doing what she loves best…strutting her stuff in the ring.

And for those of you who have been wondering, she will be having REAL babies next spring…no more football…

or fish!

On a sadder note, brother Brody will not be returning to the ring as originally planned.  We spent time at the vet yesterday, and the decision was made to neuter him.  He has developed a prostate problem, and part of the course of treatment involves neutering him.  AKC rules do not allow altered dogs to show in conformation classes.

While the decision saddened me, I will always do what is best for my babies. I was looking forward to seeing him back in the ring again. He was a gorgeous boy who held such promise…his last victory being a Best of Breed win.  But regardless, he will always be a champion in my eyes.  Until next time…

  1. Oh my, so much activity and news! I’m glad that, although there is a sad result in some ways, surgery will help with Brody’s condition. Muffy will be such a wonderful mother. Congratulations to Lexi. What a wonderful comeback.

  2. So glad for the girls. I sure hope Dr. Rita can take care of Brody’s problem with that surgery and make a full and happy recovery! Since he won’t be on the circuit – maybe he can have some ‘puter time with some of his mom’s stamping buddies! I am sure he would have a lot to say about his sisters! Hugs and doggy kisses all the way around! Oh, and Otis was gorgeous too! Loved the comment about sleeping with him too!

  3. Oh Ann, I really love all your good news about Lexi & Muffy. But it brought tears to me eyes to hear Brody will be retired from showing. He truly is a beautiful dog; we are so partial to all black masks here in our house & he is gorgeous. Hopefully this will help his medical issues. Kudos to you for the great job of dog sitting.

  4. Brody IS STILL a very handsome and sweet boy – so sorry he will soon be out of competing but what is best is best for all concerned! Big congratulations to Lexi – she looks sooo beautiful! And very exciting news about Muffin…wonderful that she will finally have her own babies! Am sure you are back at home and getting caught up with your life! Please keep us posted on ‘the kids’! Have a great week!

  8. You have certainly had a wild weekend. And I am so glad for Lexi. But I am just glad that Brody has someone who loves him for his own sweet self and not worrying about just showing him.
