A Corner Garden for The Paper Player’s 200th Challenge

Can you believe it?  The Paper Players are celebrating our 200th challenge today!  For our 200th, we wanted to do something special.  Here is the scoop:

  •  Each one of the Design Team members selected a favorite past challenge.
  • Participants are invited to select ANY of the DT challenges, and make your project based on that challenge.  Please let us know which challenge you selected.
  • One randomly selected participant will receive ALL of the DT cards as a bonus for participating.

I selected Challenge # 142…Create a Clean and Simple One Layer Card.  I decided to ink up one of my new stamp sets from the 2014 Catalog.  I hope you enjoy my debut of Corner Garden.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Clean and Simple One-Layer Card
This card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Blendabilities! The Corner Garden background stamp was inked with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and then the fun began! The blossoms were colored and shaded using Stampin’ Up!’s new Blendabilities. These will be available to the general public in late June or July.
  • Sequins! Coastal Cabana Sequins, from the 2013 – 2015 In Color Sequin Assortment, are the perfect centers for the Coastal Cabana flowers which I “planted” in my corner garden.
  • “Bee” is for Brady!  It was my son Brady’s idea to add a little bee to my garden.  Because the flowers in this image are realistic, the bee needed to be realistic.  Luckily, the set Think Spring, from the retired 2014 Occasions Catalog, had the perfect little guy.  His sparkly wings are courtesy of Dazzling Diamonds.

I hope that all of you are having a wonderful Father’s Day! I was thrilled when Brady texted me and said he was coming home for two days.  He has not been home since Christmas.  The Boxers were elated to see him….and so was I.

Speaking of Boxers, Brody is recovering well from his operation.  For those of you who missed the original post, we had to neuter him in order to alleviate the symptoms of an enlarged prostrate and prostatitis.

And I have been waiting so long for one of Lexi’s Major Win pictures to arrive so I could post this news, but I just can’t wait any longer! I have to announce that little Lexi is now CHAMPION Burlwood’s Unlike Any Other.  Lexi ended the journey to her title at the Tree Towns Boxer Club Specialty last weekend in Wheaton, IL.  I will definitely post both of her major win pictures as soon as I get them.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card as much as I enjoyed creating it! Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? And remember, one lucky participant in this week’s Paper Player challenge will be receiving this card, as well as those from the rest of the design team.  As always, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

Brody is looking as handsome as ever. I so hoped his surgery will take care of his problems. Lexi is just a natural! You are going to have to build on an extra room just for all the stuff from their winnings! I am sure Muffy is one proud big sister telling the world she taught her everything there is to know about winning.

So glad Brady was able to come home. He had some amazing European adventures to share.
