Clean and simple is probably my favorite style of all cards, yet it is the most difficult of all styles for me to create. Therefore, this week’s Clean and Simple Spring Challenge at The Paper Players, hosted by the talented Jaydee, was definitely a challenge. While some people are fabulous clean and simple stampers, I have to work at it. I will be anxious to read what you think of this week’s attempt, using the Take Care stamp set.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Clean and Cute
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ long by 4-1/4″ wide.
- Nest! A few slivers of Baked Brown Sugar card stock makes the perfect nesting material to protect three Coastal Cabana eggs.
- Pink petals! What says spring better than trees in bloom? These little blossoms were punched from Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride card stock. Of course, who could resist adding a few little pearls?
- Fabulous font! “Welcome Spring” was simply printed off and made in to a banner. The font is a nostalgic one called Calamity Jane. And what better way to call attention to the sentiment than with a punched Perfect Plum butterfly!
Quick, easy, clean and simple…and fun to make. What do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in your comment? And remember, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…
Coming this Week:

Ann, I love it. The nest with the filling is genius and I love the little pop of color with the butterfly. Thank you for rocking my challenge!

I have always loved this stamp, but had not seen it used much. I love the way you turned it on its side. And, I agree. Clean and simple is harder than cluttered and difficult.
We definitely need to chase winter out of here and see spring around us. Great card to do that!
Cute card. I like the added slivers for the nest.
Ann, I think you did a fabulous job on the CAS challenge! Your card is so sweet and the perfect CAS reminder that spring is just around the corner!
I think your card is simplicity at its very best. No matter the style of your cards I think they are always beautiful.:)
I love the font of the stamp that you used, the birds nest and the tiny little blooms that you made.

When I get on your blog, I always go straight to your card. When I saw the card I looked up to make sure I was on your blog. I love your card and it does say you but in a clean way. Good job. Can you believe 70 yesterday, 30 and snow today. Got to love Missouri.

I love this card – so “spring-y”!!
Even a simple card from you Ann is a masterpiece. The dimension and realism of the nest are such sweet touches.
Absolutely adorable, Ann!!
I love all your cards, vintage, clean and simple, all of them. And, once again, you have created a lovely, adorable card. I love the nesting material. I always look at your cards and wonder why I have not bought whatever set you are using. You make all sets shine!
What a lovely spring card! Love how you made the nesting material! I think you did a great job with CAS! Now I’m wondering why I don’t have this set, I love anything bird related! Can’t wait to see what you have planned for us in March using Tea Party!
Beautiful……makes me believe spring is coming……I have my doubts this year!
Great card! Looking forward to spring! This is perfect for the new season! Great nest.
I love those little cupped blossoms, Ann! And the sweet blue eggs in the nest. Great use of white space. This is absolutely the hardest type of card for me to create, but you did a wonderful job!
This is really pretty Ann-a great welcome to spring with a nest and blooming tree-cas is difficult for me as well-so challenges are good to get us to try different stamping techniques and styles
I certainly think your card’s a hit!! it does look out of your comfort zone, but horray, for you, trying a different approach!
thanks for sharing & is this video (diagonal cuts) for everyone to view?
Beautiful, Ann! I love the added dimension of the fussy cutting on the nest and the nesting material is adorable! You did a great job working outside your comfort zone, Friend!
I love your cards whether they be clean or otherwise. This one is just perfect for spring. The nest is just adorable. Thanks for sharing.
So cute Ann! I think the nest and the flowers are adorable. You always have such nice cards. I love your blog and I am so happy Lexi is better. Tail wags from Cookie to all the furbabies and hugs from me to all!
Thanks for the homage to spring. I think we in the midwest are more than eager to see our snow covered terrain replaced with green grass, flowers and robins’ nests. As usual, your interpretation of the theme is beautiful
Love it! Screams spring and the colors are so fitting as well! Love how you perked the flowers up and then added a pearl!
I LOVE THIS! Your CAS card has just the right elements for a perfect spring greeting. I love birds, so I am not quite sure why I don’t have this set yet!! It’s adorable!
I think it’s absolutely adorable! The nest material was brilliant and I do like that font! The purple butterfly was the perfect touch. Another masterpiece!
