It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players. This week, the talented LeAnne has a trio of delectable colors for us: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Basic Black. These are absolutely beautiful colors together. However, I made a mistake initially, and totally overlooked the Pool Party, as you can seen in this picture:
When I discovered my mistake, I simply removed the Rich Razzleberry butterfly, and added one in Pool Party. I then removed the Pear Pizzazz/Always Artichoke leaves, which clashed terribly. It was an easy fix, and a crisis was averted! I hope you will join us this week at The Paper Players…we can’t wait to see what you create!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Brocade! The retired Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, from last year’s Holiday Catalog, provided just the look I wanted for my background. The Blossom image, from Stippled Blossoms, was inked in Rich Razzleberry and stamped off once. The stippling is courtesy of Jet Black StazOn ink. The result is a vintage brocade effect.
- Butterfly! The Butterfly image, from Papillon Potpourri, was inked in Pool Party, pearled, and perched atop a Rich Razzleberry Blossom.
- Banner! My Friend, from Six-Sided Sampler, was inked in Rich Razzleberry and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock. It was then adhered on top of 3/4″ Basic Black Chevron Ribbon.
The embossed back panel reminds me of a brocade jacket I had back in the ’80’s. How I wish I had that jacket back! What do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? And of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…
(Where in the world is Ann Schach this weekend? Wilmot, Wisconsin at the Kenosha Kennel Club dog show. Muffy is strutting her stuff!)

The background is stunning, Ann! I think both cards are gorgeous, too. I do have to agree with Nance above that how simply changing the color of an element creates such a different “feel” to the cards. Congrats to Miss Muffy! Whoo hoo!
Wowza Ann! Such beautiful cards! Those blossoms are gorgeous! Thanks for the inspiration!
Gorgeous Ann. I love the butterfly save ๐ The chevron ribbon is the perfect anchor and really brings the black in from the background. Fabulous!
Hugs

The color combo you were to use is fine, but I think I prefer the one you made “by mistake” using the Rich Razzleberry butterfly. Lovely design though!
Oh my goodness, the stamped and embossed background is lovely, Ann! Both cards are beautiful. It’s amazing how a small detail such as the color of the butterfly can change the whole feel! Beautiful card!
Elegant and classy! Good save, adding the little blue butterfly. And i too wish i had back some clothes i gave away!
Both versions are fabulous…but your addition of the last color with the butterfly is really charming! Too bad the leaves didn’t go with the new color…but they are fabulous with the original card!
These colors are so regal looking. The embossing folder works so well with the look of your flowers. Hope Muffy did well this weekend.
Hey, Linda…I did indeed stamp first and then embossed ๐
Both cards are stunning, so rich looking. Thank goodness you didn’t ask us which we liked the best! I don’t think I could choose! That embossing folder just added to the richness. So, did Muffy win?!?! Hope you had a safe and happy trip back home. The last show with the allergic reaction was so scary!

I am always inspired by your creativity. Thank-you for sharing. In today’s project did you stamp first and then emboss?

Ann both versions are just drop dead gorgeous! I love how you stamped first and them embossed the same layer. Stunning!

Beautiful card, love how you did the flowers!
I love your “save”, Ann! And congrats on your big win this weekend! How exciting! I am impressed that you can think clearly enough to stamp anything when these big events are looming! Thanks for making my colors look so lovely this week!
Ann such rich colors! wow.. both look fab! The embossing is wonderful!
Good luck with the show… and thanks for the comment on my fall card.
I’m still trying to figure out how to send the comments to my new email. hugs

Sounds like Muffy is fully recovered. Best of luck this weekend.
