A Calm Christmas for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the talented Sandy has an awesome sketch challenge for us. I gave the sketch just a little twist, and used the same pattern for both panels. The result is clean and elegant.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Sparkle plenty! After stamping the Dove from Calm Christmas in Island Indigo, it was snipped out and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Rhinestones and pearls add a touch of glam and sparkle!
  • Selective inking!  Using an Island Indigo Stampin’ Write Marker, only the word Peace was inked from the Peace on Earth sentiment.  Stamping onto textured card stock makes it look as if it were stamped onto canvas.
  • Argentum accent!  Stampin’ Up!’s new Silver Foil adds an awesome shine…especially when enhanced with rhinestones.

This is one of those cards that is so much prettier in person. I have always had a problem photographing rhinestones. However, it was very simple to make. I would like to create it again, using different colors and a different embossing folder. I am thinking Very Vanilla, Gold Foil, and only pearls.  Any suggestions on an ink color? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one. Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create and the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

  3. WOW! Such a fabulous card…so beautifully done and love all of your signature pearls all over the wings.

  4. Gorgeous card, Ann! Love the elegance of indigo, silver and white. All your glitz and glam is just fabulous, dah-ling!

  5. Love the card! I know this might sound odd, but I’m thinking lucky limeade and cherry cobbler both. Those colors pop so nicely and with the pearls…it would be stunning.

  6. Gorgeous! Unexpected! Magnificent! Personally, I have always liked green with silver, but red with gold. Worth a try?

  7. Quite stunning, Ann! The Island Indigo dove on the silver base is really beautiful and the rhinestones really kick up the bling factor another level.

  8. I thought this was especially nice with all the elements combining so well, especially the blue bird, jewels, the pearls, and the silver scallop.

  9. Cherry Cobbler was the first thing that popped into my mind but it looks like that was a lot of folks thought too. I LOVE Elegant Eggplant with gold and vanilla . It’s very rich looking together. Beautiful card BTW! I love teal and silver together 🙂

  10. Gorgeous! That foil behind your dove is stunning….I think gold and Cherry Cobbler would be pretty!

  11. Lovely card as always Ann! You really do make the most elegant cards.
If you do a gold version, I think Elegant Eggplant would look so regal! Of course, anything you choose would result in nothing less than stunning.

  12. What a stunning card. Awesome color choices and paper. My mom died just a month ago, so sorry that I have not been able to read my favorite blog or leave comments. Darlene

  13. Ann this is a whole lot of “gorgeous”! Wow. Love it. So peaceful….
I think the vanilla would look good in the brown tones…(espresso, brown sugar, crumb cake, or deep reds like cherry cobbler.
    hugs

  14. Absolutely gorgeous card! Love the dove….the colors….the pearls….well, everything!

  15. The dove looks so cool and ready to fly off the card with your trimming! The bottom photo really shows off that silver! So pretty! Fun touches of bling. With the gold version – how about how about old olive or even that espresso brown – I guess it depends on where all is placed. Any color you chose will be a winner. Don’t forget to show it to us!

  18. Ann, this is just beautiful! An elegant color combination! I’d love to see it in Cherry Cobbler with the gold foil and pearls!

  19. Oh, Ann! Beautiful card. Gold and vanilla sounds regal to me…how about SU “regal” bravo burgundy?

  20. Beautiful and blingy!

I would try Cherry Cobbler with the Gold Foil. I look forward to seeing your pearl-only version.

  22. This is such a wonderful color combination, Ann. The final photo really shows off that argentum paper…gorgeous! I think a card in gold would be equally pretty…maybe try cherry cobbler with the gold? Or a light blue. Classic!
