A Random Act of Kindness

I received a package in the mail today.  It’s presence knocked me totally off guard.  I wasn’t expecting anything from anyone, from anywhere.  Eagerly I opened it up.  A gift bag held a gift box and a hand-stamped monogrammed card with a message:  “Hi, Ann! I was shopping at the local bizarre the other day and I found this necklace. The moment I saw it, I immediately thought of you…”  The card was from fellow Pretty Pal, Maggie Mata of Maggie Made Cards.

As I opened the box, tears began to flow freely.  Maggie is deployed in the military. I think that is what really touched me.  Separated from family and friends, making personal sacrifices to serve and protect her country, Maggie thought of me and my furbabies. “It may not be from Tiffany’s, after all, I am in Kyrgyzstan.  But it’s the thought that counts…lol”,  Maggie wrote.

If it were from Tiffany’s I could not love it more than I already do.  It is the most perfect of gifts…given for no other reason than the thought that the recipient would like it…a gift truly given from the heart.  I will cherish it always, and the loving, caring person who sent it…

Until next time…
