Make a Wish for The Paper Players

It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! Today, the talented LeAnne Pugliese has a wonderful sketch for us, which I flipped it on its side. This sweet little card was created especially for LeAnne. It’s her birthday today. LeAnne, I hope that all your birthday wishes come true!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Quick and Easy Tips
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″.

When time is of the essence, these tips will help you save minutes!

  • Minimal stamping! Let the designer paper do the talking! Afternoon Picnic contains the sweetest little floral images that can be punched out in a flash. The printed stitching is a plus, too. Adding a few pearls into the center of the flowers adds a special touch.
  • No matting! The Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provides a perfect backdrop for unmatted elements. Once again, a time saver!
  • No fuss! Layering the sentiment banner over a designer paper banner adds interest. I only adhered the beginning of the sentiment banner in order to allow dimension.  This cute little sentiment from Sweet Essentials was inked in Wisteria Wonder. The Coastal Cabana polka dot banner adds a “pop” of unexpected color, and coordinates with the Coastal Cabana card base.

This is one of those weeks where I met myself coming and going.  I returned from Convention last Sunday, and Muffy and I left again on Thursday for the Waukesha, Wisconsin cluster of shows.  Muffy is showing in six shows over a five day period.  Of course, that much exertion requires a lot of beauty sleep.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. You know, we can all use a little quick and easy in our lives every once in awhile, and this card fills the bill. Won’t you let me know what you think of it in today’s comment? And remember, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away! Until next time…

  1. Ann….love the way you mingled all the different elements. A lovely piece of inspiration!

  2. So beautiful Ann! I love the soft colors combo and how the pretty polka dots compliment the pearls. It’s not an Ann-card without a touch of pearls! 🙂

  3. Awww look at those lips! That card turned me on my side too. It is very thought provoking. Here’s the masculine of the black sort of plaid. No wait, here’s the modern, trendy zig zag in green. Oops another turn, the beautiful delicate flowers. This card surely appeals to all the facets of a personality. I love it! happy Birthday Leanne.

  4. Very pretty card Ann, very inspirational. Don’t forget to take some R&R recharging the batteries is a good thing!

  5. Very sweet and special, and a good suggestion for the ds paper.

  6. What a pretty card! Love the soft look of the flowers in the focal point and the colors you used! Good luck to Muffy and I hope both of you get some beauty rest!

  7. Ann, I love the way that you let the DP do the talking. And I love the way you added the different shapes together. It all came together so beautiful.

With all that you have done in a matter of a week I’m surprised that you did not bump into yourself. 🙂 I hope that you made time to get some much needed rest just as Muffy did.

    Mary

  8. Beautiful card, Ann. I guess Muffy is tires – 6 meets in 5 days, whew. Makes me tired thinking about it.

I saw your Holiday Shares from yesterday. I would love to get some from you. I sent you an email – not sure you got it. Please contact me:

  9. I was certain those flowers were marker’ed and stamped but they’re paper! What a clever, time saver you are! Such a sweet little card. Travel safely, my friend! ((hugs))

  10. My first thought was “refreshing” and I have no idea why. I love all the texture, layers and patterns. It is so cool how the embossed dots, polka dot paper, and the pearls all tie it together. I love the cool soft colors as well. Then, that chevron piece just makes it plain fun even though the little flowers still are the showcase. Totally love it!

Have a safe trip back from all the shows. So, how many ribbons has she racked up this weekend?

Cookie is snoring as I type this. Wishing you a great time and get some sleep. Nothing like burning the candle at both ends… you are amazing!

  13. Pretty card. The punched-out DSP is a great idea and the pearls are the perfect addition.

  17. I really like the colors you put together in this card,Ann. The circular bit of DSP is not only beautiful, but it softens the look of the design. Beautiful! Sounds like Mom might need a nap here and there, too!

  18. Really nice! You inspire me with your ideas. On this card the colors really look great together and I would not have thought of using that combination myself. Hope you and Muffy both get some rest!
