Brody

People watching on a warm March day

Brody has been quite the trooper.  Weekend after weekend, show after show, he has watched either Muffy or Lexi, or both, hop in the van and head to a show.  Heartbroken at being left behind, he would mope around, and sometimes even refuse to eat. I would always feel so guilty, especially as I loaded up the girl’s show equipment.  He always loved the show ring so much.

Brody practicing his pitiful “Woe is me” look

Well…at the end of the month, Brody will get a chance to come along to a show.  Amy, the owner of the Twins’ father (BISS Ch. Happytail’s Dart Impact) is going to evaluate him to see if she thinks he can resume his show career.  It has been almost a year, and two surgeries, since Brody last set foot in the ring. He wears his scars proudly, and like me, he needs to lose a few pounds.  If Amy thinks he can be competitive, we will bring him back for limited showing.  We want him to be happy.

As always, your comments are important to me.  If you have questions about any of the Stampin’ Up! promotions and products, don’t hesitate to ask.  And please…join me Thursday for the Pals Paper Arts challenge! Until next time…

  1. Aw, I hope Brody gets a chance to do his thing again, bless his heart!
And by the way, I didn’t know SU is going to offer clear stamps. It’s about darn time! LOL

  2. I’ve been trying to catch up on some posts from taking vacation and I have to say yours are my first to check! I loved reading the good news. What a great start to my morning! I am so excited for Brody! What a beautiful dog! Keep us posted…I’s so excited to see how he does!!! Have a wonderful weekend Ann!

  3. Anxious for the full reveal. It has been a difficult day as I had to let my chocolate lab Koko go to a better place. Knowing it is the best decision but hard to do. It has been at the farm for 12 yrs. We think he was dumped at the corner. He had a gunshot wound and my mom nursed him back to health. I will miss our daily walk down the lane to the mailbox. Dar

  4. Gosh he is handsome! I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

  5. Great photos of Brody. He’s a winner in my book and doesn’t need a show ring but I guess he wouldn’t understand that. Good luck – I hope he can resume his “career”.

  6. Gorgeous watercoloring, Ann! the color combo is striking. And such sweet news about Brody. Hoping for the best! Hugs!

  7. Mary Cardini-Anderson

Your card sneak peek looks lovely. I look forward to seeing it tomorrow.

I had no idea that Brody had not been competing due to 2 surgeries. I hope he will be just fine and will be able to compete again very soon.

What a look on Brody’s face! Love it! Sure hope it works out for showing – he is #1 in my book! If not, maybe he can come visit me but then he would have to put up with Henry. Ummmm…

  22. And some people say that animals don’t know how to think! Ha! You go, Brody! Rooting for him and his family pals and his “mom,” whose cards win 1st. place every time. Nancy B

  23. I always look forward to the full reveal when you tease us with the sneak peeks. 🙂

Brody is such a handsome Boxer. And it is so sad that he is feeling left out to the extent that he sometimes won’t eat. When he was used to going along and being such a winner it must be hard on him to have to stay home. Praying that he can return to the ring even if it is limited.

  24. I bet the kids love seeing Brody as much as Brody loves seeing them! Can’t wait to see the rest of your card.

  25. Pretty sneak peek….but the news about Brody is wonderful….sending prayers his way that he can resume the show ring, once they do it, they love it.

  26. I love all your cards and originally subscribed to your blog for this. However, as a dog owner, and dog lover, I really enjoy the updates on your beautiful dogs. I hope all goes well for Brody. Good luck to all!

  27. Love your sneak peek! Those are two of my favorite in colors too.

Your poor Brody sounds like he’s been through quite a bit. I hope he will be able to resume a limited showing career. Love the “woe is me” look 🙂

  28. Best Wishes to Brody! He’ll do great in the ring again and hope he can compete! Oh, what we do for our furry kids! Thanks for sharing!

  29. Ann,
I don’t know why Brody wasn’t in the ring anymore but I hope he will be able to start over. I do think they do get sad when they can’t do what they have always gotten to do.
    Diana from WI

  30. Love the peek I can’t wait to see all of it.
Yes…for Brody…he will be so happy to go along with his sisters.
    Even if it is limited.
    Take care to all!

  31. Can’t wait to see the whole card!
Hope things go well for Brody!

    Happy Spring! (Brrrr!)

    Luann

  32. Brody sure has that “pitiful me” look down pat! No wonder you feel guilty! I am hoping he gets to compete. He is a good looking boy.

I love your artistry and always enjoy your cards. Do you think you will have some vintage/shabby chic cards again? Those are my all time favorites!

  33. So glad to hear that Brody is doing well and might be able to return to what he loves!

  34. Love the sneak peeks, Ann! And I am sneaking this comment in (just so busy with work) but I wanted to say that you, the Twins and Lexi are always on my mind. So I was thrilled to read that Brody may get a chance to enter shows again. My fingers and my Lexi’s paws are crossed for him!

  35. Ann, I love to read the updates on your “children”!! I have 2 four legged “children” too, but mine are rescue “children” and probably aren’t as well behaved as yours!!!:)

  36. I also can’t wait for the big reveal. Looks so nice and bright and cheerful Spring card.
Wishing all the best for Brody and hope he does well.

  37. Can’t wait to see this card!! You know it’s the other colors that excite me : ) Dear sweet Brody – sure hope he gets what he wants : )

  38. Love the sneak peek. The flowers are beautiful. Loved seeing and hearing about Brody. I hope all goes well with the trainer. He is a handsome boy.

  39. The sneak peek is beautiful, Ann! I can’t wait to see the reveal!

I’m so happy for Brody that he is getting another chance to be in the show ring again! I hope he is successful! Keeping my fingers crossed for him!

  40. Go get ’em, Brody! Such a handsome fellow, hopefully he does as well as he looks in these photos.
