For a Friend

Did you ever have one of those days when you just wanted to throw in the towel?  Call it quits?  Yesterday was one of those days for me.  I was ready to shut down The Stampin’ Schach, and put away the stamps.  Had it not been for the support of a good stamping friend, I would have done just that.

I was second guessing the cards that I create.  I am not a designer by any stretch of the imagination, but I wish I were.  I marvel at those who have the formal training and the innate artistic ability.  Yet I put my heart and soul into every card I make, and attack each project with a passion that comes from deep within. My cards are a part of me and they are a reflection of who I am.  It is important to me that you like what I do.

My friend talked me down off the proverbial “ledge”, and for that I am grateful.  I will be taking his advice to heart, and will be making some changes that will improve my blog while making me a happier person.  I made this card to show my appreciation for his concern and caring.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.

  • Lovely, layered butterflies! The Bitty Butterfly Punch is the perfect companion to the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  Don’t forget the Pearls!
  • Pretty and pearly!  The Stippled Blossoms image was inked in So Saffron, and overstamped in Calypso Coral.  At your discretion, you can tuck a Paper Doily behind the blossom for a frilly look!  And don’t forget the Pearls!
  • Banner with a twist! For a different look, paper snip around a rose, rather than cutting straight down the edge of the banner.  And oops…I forgot the Pearl! A small Pearl would be a perfect embellishment for the center of this little rose.

  2. I am a science teacher also, who has always struggled with the logic side of my brain and the creative side yearning to be released. You have been such an inspiration to me personally because you have released your creativity. Yes, the logic side does hamper our true freedom but it is who we are and you, for one, should never doubt your inspiration to others. Just look at the number of responses today!

  3. Ann, I am so happy that your friend got you off that horrible ledge. You may not think of yourself as a designer, but you are. Your projects always have a WOW factor and provide so much inspiration. Stay happy.

I think you can tell by how many comments you’ve received on this post that all of us fellow stampers want to talk you “down off that ledge!” LOL Your work is full of passion, beauty and skill. You inspire so many by sharing what you love. Remember it’s in sharing that you make a difference. ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Ann, your wonderful comment on my first entry (giraffe and balloons) into the Paper Players, brought me to your site and WHOA!! Your feelings of nearing the ledge echo mine – and I’m just a newcomer! I’m so glad your friend helped you to regain perspective, find new directions, and rekindle your passion for what, deep inside, you do love. I hope that all the comments – mine included – you receive also reveal how talented, creative and inspiring you are! The card-making community would be empty without you!! Your dedication to brightening our days – with your cards, with your comments – is appreciated immensely! Thank you for investing in all of us – and keep investing in yourself. You are one exponentially talented individual; please continue to share your gifts with us! Hugs from a ‘new’ friend!

  9. Ann, I think we all go through this from time to time. I often think it tends to happen right before we have a major creative breakthrough…it’s like a plant that’s outgrown its pot and needs to be transplanted so the roots can spread and grow. Hang in there…your breakthru is right around the corner. In the meantime, please know this: You are such a wonderful artist, and I truly am inspired and encouraged by your blog. We creative types are very critical of our own work, while others readily see the beauty found there. I’m glad you decided not to throw in the towel. I would miss my sessions with my crafty buddy. Sending you hugs!

  10. You card is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for showing us. kay v

  11. Oh, Ann! Don’t ever stop making your amazing cards. I have made so many of them and just love the up-scale style that you have. I love to make cards that are a challenge and reap the most compliments…so many of them are your designs! Thanks so much for sharing, Chris (Demo in London, ON, Canada)

  13. I am so guilty of lurking but not commenting and I am sorry for that as your cards are exquisite. I am more of a clean and simple card maker but when I want to do a special one I always turn to your examples and nice details. You are always prompt when answering my questions. I would sorely miss you if you quit. I love hearing about your ‘boys’. I also wonder how many bins of pearls you must have on hand. Love from a cyber friend, Leanna

  14. I’d hate to see you stop and close your blog. I check in every day to see the amazing cards you make. I truly love the pictures of your dog family and antics and awards.

  15. Ann I love your cards and your blog is my favorite one. The furbabies would miss all the cute pictures of their friends ( ok it would really be me missing them). I don’t know what brought you to the edge but I am so thankful for your friend to help you through this “bad spot” you were in. Your in my thoughts….take care!

  16. Very pretty card! I have been following your blog for a long time and look forward to it each and every time I open it. Your creations are always an inspiration!

  17. Your card is just lovely! I really love the way you snipped around the rose on the banner instead of making it straight and cutting it off.

There is no need to be on a ledge! You provide us all with so much inspiration, do keep your beautiful cards coming as well as updates on your beloved dogs!

  18. I love your card – the colors are awesome – and would love to win the “candy” you’re generously giving away. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. No, no, Ann! SO glad you’re off that ledge. You are my hero! How can you say you’re not a designer, when you design THE most stunning creations every day?
I don’t post frequently on your page, because you always have so many other comments (and coz I can bend your ear in the Pals Chat), but let me make up for the “failures to launch” posts in the past: YOU ARE WONDERFUL. Finding your website was the thing that validated my chosen style–you, with all your vintage-vibe, strings of pearls, and such lushly-rich creations!
Please stay off that ledge and in your Schach and keep those cards and letters coming!

  20. I follow at least 20 blogs for inspiration, and I have to say your’s in the the top 3, if not the top. Your creations are always artistic and creative. This card really appeals to me because it looks like Victorian which is one of my favorite styles. Please keep posting if you can.
    Thanks

  21. Are you kidding us? Your cards are the highlight of the blogging world! I can’t even find cards like yours in magazines. I envy your artistic eyes. You have more class and fine taste than most of the stampers (and non-stampers) around. I look to you as a leader and my inspiration. Keep stamping and posting. We need you. We also love your dogs. Thank you, Ann! Nancy B

  22. Ann
Your cards are so very special. You are a extremely talented lady. I check your blog site everyday. Thank you for sharing with us. God bless you.

  23. So glad you are off that ledge Ann! I love your cards and the stories of the twins plus one. Please keep sharing!

  24. Ann,
When I retired, I finally had time to surf for inspiration. Finding your blog was a turning point that allowed me to begin creating cards that friends truly enjoy and honestly compliment. I am not artistic by any stretch of the imagination, but a touch of pearls is often just the right addition to make an otherwise ordinary card outstanding. Your beautiful photos and detailed instructions have allowed me to brighten days for others. Thank you for sharing your talent with me. As a fellow Iowan and dog lover, I also love your behind the scenes comments and photos. Thank you for ‘listening’.

  25. Ann, I echo what each 108 comments before me has stated! You are so very talented! You state you are not a designer, but I disagree! Your knack for putting elements together is a gift.
I love coming to your blog and seeing your beautiful creations!
I can only aspire to be half the card maker that you are!
I love your style of blogging and I love love love seeing your furbabies! Thank you for sharing your talent with us each and every day!

  26. Some days I sit at my craft table and just look at things with nothing coming to mind. Don’t ever doubt yourself. We all have days that we don’t think we can create a thing. You are so talented at being able to put things together. This is a great “friend” card.

And you are so generous to be offering a fun stamp set as Blog Candy.

I don’t ever want to hear you say you are throwing in the towel!!!

  27. I follow your blog daily and have done for a number of years! Please please keep creating! You’re style is amazing and you put it together in the most unique ways! You are a designer! You inspire me to perfect my style! It gets hard when we don’t get feedback. But know that there are those of us that look forward to your creativity every morning!

  28. Hi Ann, I am so glad you didn’t jump! What would I do without you? I would have had to follow you over the edge also and that would be bad (smile). Your the inspiration I hold dear that makes me be an individual when I create.
Ann, I have said this more than once and it is so true that, you are an amazing artist and you are the best of the best in blog land my friend! I’m going out on a limb here saying this but…Everyone else makes the same looking cards CAS. You my friend don’t. You add your own personal style and flair coupled with elegance to every creation you share with us. We do see that you put your heart and soul into them and it shows. I’m comment # 105.

Self doubt is way station artists can’t afford to visit for long. Maybe you just had a patch of creators block. Don’t listen to those internal thoughts they are not true. Thank your dear friend for us and please don’t stop, we need you and you are so valued!
    Fondly, Patrice H

  29. You know I am a big fan of your beautiful work Ann-the key is dont compare yourself to anyone else-just continue being who you are-I get inspiration from your blog as do many others-in the words of Winston Churchill-“never, never give up”!!!

  30. you’re so important to ME & the rest of the guarantee friendship of your blog followers!! Take some time off, leave your stamping space, take a walk & when you come back, everything will look & feel differently!!

  31. Dear Ann
I’m on that ledge often so I do understand your feeling of wanting to pack it all in………..but I’m with all of your fans, please don’t!
I’m so sorry to be one of the ones who don’t comment. For many reasons I don’t comment on blogs but I’m going to start now since you’ve helped me to see it matters.
I save so, so many of your cards for inspiration although I must admit that I put you in the category of artist and I am so NOT an artist….I’m usually overwhelmed by your abilities!
You also just seem to me to be the nicest person and I just enjoy your blog.
This world of social media is harder for me–an “older” person to make peace with and just jump into and talk to people I don’t know but I promise to try harder.
Just don’t stop sharing your amazing and beautiful creations!!
    Thanks…….

  32. I’m glad that you are not going to stop blogging as I have subscribed to your posts to see your wonderful creativity! Keep on keeping on; I love it!

  33. Ann, you must never doubt your artistic ability! You make the most lovely cards I’ve ever seen on any blog! And more importantly, you have been a great demonstrator and friend! I’ve learned so much from you and from visiting your blog. Hang in there and Happy Stamping!

  34. I’m so thankful for friends and look forward to your beautiful creations – I am always inspired by your work and your blog. I hope your creative juices flow with ease and that you continue to enjoy stamping and blogging.

  35. I can understand the way you feel. I am often at that point with my stamping but I’m glad you talked it out. I am the stamping type that always looks to others for inspiration and you are one of my leading inspirations. Thank you for sharing yourself and your creations with us.

    Rubystampstoo@aol.com

  36. Your cards are gorgeous!!! I too am glad your off the ledge. BTW, your PPA Blog Hop card is stunning. Hugs, C

  37. I LOVE your blog. All of us have bad days and need to just walk away for a while. Please continue sharing your tremendous talent with those of us that look to others for inspiration.

    Linda

  38. I think you can tell by all the comments that you are truly appreciated and sure glad you didn’t throw the towel in. I enjoy your cards and your blog, so keep up the great work. Have a good day. Hugs n’ Stuff, Lynne

  39. I just LOVE your Blog! I just want you to know that. You are a very talented person and the fact that you share this creativity is a real plus to the world! This new card is soooo beautiful. I love the stark color contrast and the details. Flowers are so appropriate for this time of year when we are hoping for the flowers to start blooming…and NO MORE SNOW!!! Keep up the good work my friend. I give you a big BRAVO!!!

  40. I’m another person guilty of reading your blog, loving it, and not posting comments!

I’m glad you will still be here, and will try to be less of a “lurker” in future!

Thank you for all the inspiration x

  41. Ohmygosh!! Are you kidding me??? You’re a fabulous artist and I would be sooooo sad if you stopped creating and blogging! Big, big hugs and I’m so sorry for whatever happened to make you so upset.

Look at all these comments. You are LOVED, girl!! Please don’t doubt – ever!

  42. The effort and putting your heart in it is so much the best part of a homemade card. You get them and know you can’t throw them away…the biggest compliment you can have. Keep creating!!

  43. I love how you say “and don’t forget the pearls.” Those are your signature! I saw a card the other day on a challenge blog and before I even saw your name I knew it was yours because of your signature pearls! Thanks for always sharing with us.
    Gale

  44. OMGosh, Ann! It amazes me that you would second guess yourself and the creativity you pour into your cards. I used to subscribe to dozens of blogs, mostly of SU! demos. I have unsuscribed from all but 2, yours and Patty Bennett’s.
I have to say that I have saved more of your cards for future inspiration than any other demonstrator. Your card for the Harb. of Spring is probably one of my favs of yours since I first subscribed to your blog over 3 years ago.
That being said, I look forward to the changes to your blog that you’re planning. May they make YOUR life easier and more enjoyable.
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous creations as well as your adorable boxer babies with the world.

  45. Please don’t ever stop creating those beautiful cards! I am a new demonstrator and get discouraged but just keep plugging along. Love that blog candy!

  46. So sorry Ann. I have had a lot of those days lately. The blog hop helped a bit, now at least a couple thousand people have looked at our work. I really don’t know where to go from here, though. Perhaps we can help each other out. I am glad you decided to keep it up. Your cards make my day better on many days.

  47. Your cards are such an inspiration to me…..I love seeing all of your cards everyday. They make me smile…thank you for putting your heat and soul into the creativity of every card….hugs!!

  48. Beautiful card as are everyone that you create!! You are so talented and all the time you take to create a card absolutely shows. I could never give away a card like yours, as they are truly works’ of art, each and every one. I know, I throw a lot of cards
away and struggle to make every card, and am not happy unless it is 100% what I want. I do understand the frustration that comes with creating and some people can throw something together in 5 minutes, mine more like 5 hours, and they don’t even look as elegant as yours. I keep telling myself it is good exercise for the brain if nothing else!! Allow yourself a down day once in awhile, and the good days will seem even better. Thanks for taking the time to share all that you do!!! Jennifer, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

  49. So glad you’re not going over the edge. We certainly all have those days. You’re so creative & you add so many wonderful details to your cards. I love all the colors of this one. So bright & fun!

  50. This stamper is so happy you are in the world, creating inspirational cards….I can’t count the number of times I’ve used your designs and ideas for cards for my stamp clubs. Thank you a thousand times!

  51. Very pretty color combination – love your cards.

  52. Ann, Please don’t give up. I love your cards and don’t take the time to tell you when I do. You have a great style in your card making. Please keep creating and sharing.

  53. I love the vintage look on your card! Thank you for creating and sharing!

  54. I agree with everyone !!! I love your blog and reading about your dogs, and your life, wonderful cards you make, whether you copy the, completely or they are your own creation. Don’t change a thing, except get away from that ledge!!!!

  55. Ann, I am so glad you will continue making cards and blogging. Your work is always so gorgeous and beautifully made. I love every card you have made using this paper and stamps!! Hugs!

  56. You forgot a pearl–you definitely must have been having an off day!

Oh Ann, you certainly do have innate artistic ability. You are so very creative and it shows that you put your whole being into your creations. Most importantly, you are a wonderful, kind, and loving person.

    Stamp on!

  57. I think you are very talented! I love love love all your cards and know how much of yourself you put into them. I am an avid card maker and feel that every card I make is a little work of heart. Don’t stop creating!!

  58. Sweet Ann, all of us have days like that, you just to take a deep breath and go on… I’m so glad you have a friend whom you can trust and share your worries, and thank God you changed your mind bout closing your blog. I don’t comment at every post, but I do enjoy each one of your creations, your cheerful conversations and the endevours of your beloved dogs. Your style is unique and elegant and you are truly creative. Thanks for sharing your talents with us. Big hug!

  59. Oh my! I cannot believe that you would question your artistic ability! I LOVE your cards! I purchase a lot of SU items and I get so much inspiration from you with your cards using the SU products! Every card is gorgeous! Also, I so enjoy reading about you and your sweet dogs. It puts a big smile on my face! So, you keep on keepin’ on with those aweseome cards! Take care, hugs!!!

  60. No, no, no, you can’t shut down your blog and leave us Ann! I would be very sad and upset if that happened! Your cards are such an inspiration to me and don’t ever think you are not a designer. No one can put a card together like you can! I am always in awe of everything you create. I love how your blog is not just about cards but also about your family and beloved boxers. I’m sorry you were having a rough day but I am so glad your friend was there to talk you off that ledge. You are not just a blog that I visit everyday, you are also a very cherished friend!

  61. I have days like that sometimes, too! I usually just step away from things for a couple of days, and when I come back to scrapping/cardmaking, I’m recharged and ready to go!
Thanks so much for the chance to win!!

  62. Hi Ann! So sorry to hear that you were having one of those days. Your cards are such a JOY to me and bring me happiness! I’m thankful for your friend. Be true to yourself and remember how much we love you.

Onto your beautiful card…it reminds me of the South. Pretty colors, gorgeous roses, the fan shaped lace perfect on a hot sunny day with a tall glass of tea. I love it!!

  63. Oh wow, look at all the wonderful comments from all your on-line friends! Let’s just chalk it up to this weird weather, the time change and your snow shoveling event and FORGET ABOUT IT! We all love your blog, your creations, your wit and knowledge!

This card is wonderful and I know the recipient will appreciate it. This card is another one of your mini masterpieces and totally you!

    Enough said for now!

  67. Sweet Ann,

Your designs have always brightened my day…but I know only to well how depression can rob us of joy. My prayer is that the out pouring from all that follow your blog will comfort and re-energize you as we look forward to your future posts and incredible talent.

  68. Hello Ann, I am glad those “bad days” are few and far between. What ever inspires you gives us all inspiration to keep on creating too. If you never ever ever told me that you aren’t a trained artist…. who would have guessed it? A natural gift is a blessing TFS your human side. I am not one to comment on blogs as much as I should to show my appreciation. It’s great to see your lovely card today.

  69. I am so happy you are sticking by the stuff…I enjoy your cards, stories, your beautiful dogs….and, GORGEOUS CARDS….YAY, to your friend!….love the prize….very thoughtful!

  70. Ann!
Your cards are all beautiful and each and every card is inspring. You should never doubt yourself as we all have those days.

Thanks for the awesome cards you design as well as wonderful instructions.

  71. Your cards are so beautiful. I look forward to each and every one of them. I do know what it’s like to “hit the wall” and feel like you just need a break from it all, but don’t ever question your “design” ability. People like me count on you to “inspire” us down off that ledge every so often. Thank you for sharing your time and talent with us. I always try to remember…creativity is a part of who you already are, not what you’re taught to be.

  72. Ann, you can’t quit silly girl…you are my mentor! Glad you got past that ridiculous notion that you should give it up! So many people count on seeing your work of art – each and every one of them! No pressure ๐Ÿ˜‰

  79. Hi Ann, I was shocked to read how close you were to throwing in the towel, oh please don’t do it. I really appreciate your cardmaking creativity as you are so inspirational to me and I am sure many more of us as I saw on the comments before me. As a blogger myself for more than 6 years now there has been many days when I was thinking the same way. But, without anyone to convince me otherwise I realized something important by asking myself one question: “What else would I do if not cardmaking? My answer was nothing else is a passion to me for my spare time occupation.

So indeed, we all appreciate comments when we work so hard to produce regular blogs to keep our followers happy and coming back as well. I try when time permits to leave comments and have been leaving comments here since I came in contact with you. I would really miss your work Ann, so please stick around for all of us. Don’t question your work anymore, we all have our own style and we all love the style we come back for on each blog sent by you.

As long as it is a lit passion for you to enjoy making cards, don’t let comments bring you down…it goes up and down all the time, especially during Summer, we all get busier but I know I see the chart visits are as many just no time to comment is all. But we all love you and your work!

  88. How beautiful, Ann! I am so glad your friend helped you. I have always looked up to your art! Keep in mind, the majority of us are NOT trained designers (me included), but we make our projects from the heart. I do want others to like my work, but I also get so much out of the process/journey. In case you foget, you ROCK!

  89. Thanks to your friend for seeing you through your time of difficulty and doubt, and thank you Ann for deciding to continue your blog and sharing your creations. 95. Well just look at you girl – all those wonderful comments from your fans. And why are we your fans – because you pour yourself into your blog, your card details, your skills, your fur babies, your life – etc., and we love you for it Ann. We all do have those days when our estrogen level is too low or something hormonal, or something’s not quite right, but we love you and your heart. Please know that we care and understand. The bible tells us to share our burdens with one another so that we can come to your rescue in your time of need. Now aren’t you glad you were open and honest with all of us.!!!!

  96. I’m so sorry to hear that you were feeling so down. I, for one, look forward to your posts every day! And, I must say that you are positively wrong – you are a designer and a fabulous one at that. Classically trained, smashedly. This is your outlet and your passion, so how could your creations be anything but fabulous? I hope that your new plans include plans that make it fun for you. My modo for my passion is adapted from Stacy Julian and that is: it’s not about the product, it’s about the process.
I also want to add that I love your pups and your sense of humor. I wish you many blessings of peace and happiness. Know that you bring joy to so many, like me a relative stranger.

  97. I am so glad you were talked off the “ledge”. I love to visit your blog and I always love what you make even if I don’t get the chance to comment. This card is beautiful and I love the combo of So Saffron with Calypso Coral. I will have to add that to my list to try!

  98. OMG, Ann, who cares about formal training? You are an inspiration to me! They are each a work of ART!! I always think my cards don’t measure up to your perfectly detailed cards! And you make so many more than I do, for heaven’s sake, I’d be at a loss if you closed down the Stampin’ Schach!! Please never think that again! I love you and your cards. Keep it up! Sent with much love<3

  99. I had to check my calendar and make sure it was not April 1st when I first started reading your post today, Ann; I am sorry you were having a bad day in the studio BUT it would ruin my day if you ever did decide to shut down The Stampin’ Schach!! I don’t know how I missed yesterdays post, it must have been the 4 year old grandson that kept me hopping all day! BUT I see 208 other folks saw your post and delightful offer of blog candy! Keep stampin’ and sharing your stories and family pics, My Friend, and making our days brighter! You spend an incredible amount of time providing such wonderful detailed instructions and it does not go unnoticed! GBH! (Great Big Hug!)

  100. Oh, my, so glad that your friend talked to you and gave you some darn good readons for not throwing in the towel.
    You are a Great Inspiration.
I only wish that I was as creative as you when it comes to card making.
    I think All of your cards are outstanding. Just keep on doing what you do best; making masterpieces. :}

  101. Glad to hear you were pulled off the ledge!!! I enjoy your blog so much. You are such a gifted and talented card designer. You would not believe how many times I have used your card ideas and the complements those cards receive. Your cards are an extension of you, never doubt your vision. Each card shows your creativity, tallent and love for what you create. Plus, I like to hear about those three furry pups.

  102. You, my dear, have more artistic ability, skill, love, compassion, joy, style, etc, etc, etc than most people I know. Please do not leave us! I so look forward to your blog each time (and the pups too!). You always make me smile and sometimes twice in one blog if you include something about sassy Lexi! I’m sorry you had a bad day but am so grateful you have a good friend and we all know he will surely appreciate that card!

  104. I can’t believe you don’t realize how much we enjoy your blog! You blog is one of my favorites. Maybe your cards are so creative they really do inspire me. Maybe that is because you put a little of yourself in each one. Don’t ever doubt your talent we surely don’t!

  105. I’m thrilled you are not leaving the stamping world! I love your cards…I love all of the blogs and use so many for inspiration! I can definitely say I’m not a designer and depend on all of you for your wonderful guidance. Please keep on providing all of your lovely ideas!

  106. I have never left a comment here on your blog even though I have subscribed for a long time. I love your cards and am glad your friend was able to neutralize your negative thoughts! You bring such joy to me and others with your style of creating! Thank you for staying!

  109. I really enjoy doing the blog hops and seeing everyones creations

  110. I visit your blog almost daily and love your creations! I am thankful your friend talked you off that ledge:)

  111. Sorry to see that you were having a troublesome day Ann. Sometimes we are hardest on ourselves when it comes to the creations we make. I am so glad that someone was able to talk you “down from the ledge” as you are a very talented person. I am always amazed at your beautiful cards. Hang in there.

I am so glad that someone was able to talk you “down from the ledge” as you are a very talented person. I am always amazed at your beautiful cards. Hang in there.

  113. Oh, Ann. I’m like so many of the others who have confessed to not commenting on your blog very often. Sometimes I’ve tried, and something technical has prevented me from posting, so I’m really hoping that this one will go through.

Not every one of your cards is my style or one that I want to copy, but every single one is a card in which I can see your creativity, love, and passion for your art. And frequently your cards make me gasp with amazement at their complexity and beauty, as did yesterday’s Harbingers of Spring. That card is nothing short of exquisite! Bonus—I have the bird punch, and once I read your detailed commentary, breaking down the complexity into manageable steps, I knew that I could actually create something similar.

You are SO generous with your help. I remember when I first discovered your blog, being happily surprised when you speedily answered my question about how you did something. I very much appreciate the fact that you put a great deal of effort into your postings, telling us exactly what supplies you used and how you achieved certain effects.

Couple all of that with your delightful stories and pictures of the ‘kids’, and yours is a blog that I look forward to reading every day. Thank your friend for us, as well as yourself, for rescuing you from that ledge. You have no idea how much you would be missed.

  114. Ann
I’m sorry you were feeling so down. I know what you mean about second guessing your creations – I do it to just about every one of mine! I’m so happy that you have such a good friend ๐Ÿ™‚

  115. Oh Ann, please don’t give up blogging, the crafting world needs you! I for one turn to your blog on a regular basis, just to be inspired.

  116. Well, Ann, as you can see, no one agrees with you! Haha! So you just keep on making the beautiful cards and creations you’ve been doing, and don’t give up. We all LOVE your work, and there will always be days like this one. You may benefit from reading Tammy Hershberger’s recent post about her reevaluating stamping. Might encourage you. Thanks again, and hugs, Cheryl

  117. Beautiful, Beautiful card, you have such great talent. Don’t become discouraged, we all have days we would like to throw in the towel.

  118. Ann, I echo the comments from the others. I love your cards; they are so creative and beautiful! Reading the exploits of your fur babies- the ups and downs – is heartwarming. Your distress led me to make my first ever comment on a blog. I’m sorry I waited so long. ๐Ÿ™

  119. You are VERY talented! In fact, this morning, before I had even read this post, I excitedly showed your card from the previous day to the group of women I stamp with once a month. I told them, “You have got to see this card. It’s gorgeous!” Their jaws dropped when they saw it!

Then I come on here to hear you were ” on the ledge”. So I had to share this story with you. I’m glad you had a supportive friend.

  120. Wow beautiful and so much detail! I love it, thanks for sharing!

    be well -Vanessa

  121. Thank goodness for your friend! I love your blog, I love the cards and reading about the ‘kids’. You always inspire me to do more with my own cards and oh my gosh, the way you blend your coloring is amazing and looks so professional. You have talents far beyond what you know. And we, those of us who have come to find a small part of home where we can pull up a chair and sip a cup of coffee (or whatever drink), for just a few moments each day is priceless.

  122. Anne, please don’t go near that edge again. ๐Ÿ™‚ Your cards are stunning and provide great inspiration. Even when I’m not looking for ideas, I drop by your blog just to see your gorgeous creations (and hear news about your fur babies). You may not think of yourself as a designer, but you most certainly are. Please continue to share your amazing talent on your blog. –Doris

  123. I think most of us have been on the ledge at sometime questioning ourselves. Lucky for your readers, that your friend was a good listener who gave you encouragement to continue. Just know that I appreciate your talents and look forward to your creations. Dar

  124. So sorry you were having a bad day. I totally understand that feeling – it has happened to me many times. I love your card, especially how you overstamped the flower with the orange over the yellow. Very nice. Thanks for a chance to win blog candy

  125. Virginia S. Cox aka"Sam"

I am more or less in the same area as Janet. I never leave comments on any blog I read. I do enjoy your cards and your writings of your fur babies. I have a fur baby (8 lb. Yorkie) whom we just love and SPOIL. Keep up the good work. I just recently gave your blog site to a friend in FL. who is new to stamping and isn’t a demonstrator. I’m sure she will find a lot of inspiration from your cards.

  126. Ann,I am so glad you decided to continue blogging! I love your blog and I look forward to seeing your beautiful works of ART and reading about your furbabies and your family. I find lots of inspiration and learn so much here. You have an incredible God given sense of style and design than people that train for years would aspire to have.Thank you for sharing that with me!
I want to apologize for being guilty of reading and enjoying your blog every time you post but, in my busyness, only seldom posting my appreciation of your hard work and generosity. I will try to respond more often and show you how much I love your beautiful creations including your lovely card posted today! I love roses and this card makes me happy!
    Inky hugs,
    Janet

  127. Ann, your cards are sensational. I was lucky to receive one (“Remember When” with the old farm truck) and it is one of my most treasured pieces. The detail that you put into each one shows the dedication you have for the craft. It speaks to your style and your talent. I’m glad your friend was near to help you through.

  128. Thanks for my daily dose of inspiration!

  129. What would I do without The Stampin’ Schach? Phew, I’m glad you didn’t put it all away and are still here posting another gorgeous card! You, my friend, have so much talent and are an inspiration to so many of us! I may not comment on every card but I sure do look at each one and read your post. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations with us!

P.S. I also love reading about your fur babies too.

  130. Ann, I know those days well. I’m so sorry that you had a rough day. Big Hugs!!! Your cards are most definitely works of art and don’t you ever doubt that!

  131. No reason to be out there on a ledge because your cards are always so lovely. I love the romantic vintage feel that you create. You can tell that there is so much passion in the cards you make. Bless you and your friend. Keep doing what you do and create from your heart.

  132. Very pretty Ann! Your cards always are!

  133. Your cards are ALWAYS gorgeous! You have a lovely style and I always enjoy your site. Thank you.

  134. This card makes me happy. I can even overlook the blue : ) because the rest are my happy colors. Your friend also makes me happy – having talked you off the ledge. All of your cards are works of art. All of your blog posts, no matter what they are about, show what a kind, caring, intelligent, hugely talented person you are. Don’t go near that ledge again!!!

  135. So glad you climbed down off the ‘ledge’…

I love your cards and blog so please keep creating and sharing.
