It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week, the talented Nance Leedy has a fun quartet of colors for us: Regal Rose, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, and Early Espresso. I thought these colors would be perfect for an Easter card, so I pulled out the Everybunny stamp set, and paper-pieced to my heart’s content! I hope you enjoy today’s Bunny in a Balloon card!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Piecing
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.
- Piece, baby! The Bunny in the Balloon image was stamped four times onto the following papers: Whisper White card stock, Regal Rose Polka Dots from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack, Lucky Limeade Pin Dots from the Sunshine and Sprinkles collection, and Early Espresso Newsprint from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack. I then used my trusty Paper Snips, and snipped away, using the Whisper White image as my base. Multipurpose Liquid Glue was the perfect choice to adhere the smaller pieces.
- Buttons and banners! An Early Espresso button grounds the trio of banners and the sentiment. In keeping with my campaign to “Stamp Out Naked Buttons”, Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine makes the perfect little bow.
- Pull it together! Look for a common design element and run with it. For this card, it’s all about the circles: Polka dotted paper in two hues, pearls, a button, Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, circles on the balloon. The result is “cohesiveness”, instead of “non-cohesive mess”!
I want to share a sweet little picture I snapped while writing up this post. Big brother Brody loves his little sister, Lexi. Yes…he does have his “arm” around her. I wished I could have moved their toy out of the way, but I didn’t want to wake them. You know what they say about sleeping dogs…
I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and design tips. I know that I have been missing in action this past week. Of all the crazy things, I injured myself shoveling the wet, heavy snow we had here in southeast Iowa. Because I wanted to save the doctor’s fees for important things like stamps and dog toys, I self-diagnosed. But now I am second-guessing that decision, and I may have to break down and visit the doctor on Monday.
As always, your comments are important to me, so won’t you let me know what you think of today’s card? And of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away. Until next time…

I was smitten with your card as soon as I saw it! Then to come over to yoru blog and see those sweet sleepy pups. It’s a “two-fer” of cuteness! 🙂
Your card is just so cute! I love the flags and the pearls of course! When I think of pearls I think of you! 🙂
Oh Ann, I hope you actually did go to the doctor and are on the mend! Nasty snow! Your card is absolutely adorable! I love that you made an Easter card with my colors and the paper piecing on the balloon is fabulous. Love the pearl accents! ((hugs))
Dunno which is cuter, the dogs or the card…suffice to say they are each in their own way wonderful! TFS!
I love the card and the doggies are just to cute for words, but omg, I’m sending lots of healing thoughts your way.
Lovely card, really nice bright colours.
Oh this is darling! love the little bunny dropping the “pearl eggs” out of the basket!
Of course I LOVE polka dots too! hugs.
I’m so sorry you hurt yourself shoveling the mountains of snow you’ve been buried under… winter is not ready to give up yet, it seems.
Cute card – that image is adorable – and the paper piecing is so pretty.
Take care, I hope you feel better soon!
Hi Ann! What a sweet little Easter card! I love all the polka dots and especially the paper pieced balloon.
Ann, I LOVE your snuggly buddies pic! Aren’t they just the best! I have a pic on my fridge of my old set of labs doing exactly that and it still makes me smile to see. My new set has done it too, but not long enough for me to photo. Sigh.
Hope you got some rest this weekend and the doctor won’t be necessary. Positive vibes your way! Keep us posted and feel better.
Especially cute card. I love the way Brody’s tongue is sticking out in the photo with Lexi. Ann, I hope your shoulder is feeling better very soon.
What a sweet Easter card! Your paper piecing is amazing, and I love all of the polka dots. I hope you’re feeling better quickly!
What a darling card, Ann; and the bunny is helping you shower the earth with pearls! I will never be able to look at buttons the same again without thinking of the “Ann Schach Campaign to Stamp Out Naked Buttons”. I love reading your write-ups; they always make me laugh and I love your play on words; you are so creative in more ways than one! So sorry about your snow shoveling injury; hope it is nothing serious and that you mend quickly. Such a sweet picture of Brody and Lexi – his is such a good big brother! TAFS, Hugs

Super cute Easter card.
OMGosh, that is the sweetest picture! Brody sure is a loving big brother.
Hope you are feeling better. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order.
THis card spells “Happiness card” and it is so lovely. THank you for that beautiful card you shared as it also made me smile. Of course I know too well what a comment means from followers…it’s like gold and addictive too. Rest up Ann, it is probably just a muscle, but it could be something else too so follow your gutt feeling

Oh, Ann! This is adorable! Love this image and it looks great with the paper piecing.
I hope you are feeling better very soon! Take care of yourself!
Love the cute card with the circles and dots and all! I am still wondering why the set wasn’t made to read Hoppy Easter??? But, that is me but it would fit in real cute with the everybunny part. Your paper piecing snd snipping is just marvelous. Love the fur babies – with Brody’s pink tongue to match the card! More snow will be on the way today coupled with this rain turning to ice they say. Hope you are doing better.

Absolutely love your card and you’ve given me one to CASE when my set arrives. 🙂
My back has been paying the price for the snow, too! We haven’t had as much as you and my DH does most of it with a snowblower but I did just enough to start the “ache”.
What a loving big brother Brody is. That picture is just too cute!!!
Sweet little bunny…………..sweet “little” Lexi! Hope you are feeling better!
What a fun and detailed card, Ann! Thanks for sharing!
Love, love, love your card Ann!!! Love seeing your cards on a daily basis…they make my day!!!
What a happy spring card! Your paper-piecing is spot on with your color challenge. Take care of yourself–your fur babies need you. Hopefully that is the end of the snow for shoveling this year. We are at 60 already with rain on the way. Your photo is priceless. Dar
I am truly in awe of the paper piecing. Such patience! Beautiful card – and you’re right about the cohesive look with the repeated “circles”. Great picture of the “boys”. Hope you recover soon. Please send some wet snow to eastern New Mexico!
Such a cute card! Stamped it four times huh? What a stamper you are and you sure love your paper snips and pearls.
Adorable picture of the two fur-children.
Hope your back is better. That snow was so heavy I can see why your back is hurting.I feel for you:(.
Sorry to hear you are still hurting, Ann. That kind of injury is no fun! This bunny card, however, really brings a smile to my face. The colors are perfect and the whimsy factor is very high here. I love it! Please take good care of yourself. Hugs!
Very cute card!! Love the paper piecing and the banners the most! Everything you added really does pull the card together nicely.
What a cute Easter card, Ann! Love the polka dots, especially your paper piecing. The bunny stamp fits so perfectly in the oval, too.
Adorable card. The dogs are buties. The tip on working with two types of paper dots is very valuable, thanks. Every little idea passed onto other is helpful.
Those sweet sleeping faces are so wonderful! The card is fabulous and this color combo is super!! Please do see a doctor if not better by tomorrow. That snow is so awful when it is heavy!! Hope you are feeling much better today!
This is soooo adorable! Love these colors and all the paper piecing! What a sweet pic of Brody and Lexi! Love it when our dogs cuddle too! I hope you feel better soon and that it is nothing more than some pulled muscles from the shoveling!
As usual I always love your cards. Sorry to hear of your mishap hope when you finally go to the doctor it isn’t as bad as you think!
The pics of the dogs are so cute!
Inky Hugs,
Terry~
Love this cards. The pearls add the perfect touch. I hope you are getting better. I always pit off going to the doctors but sometimes they are really necessary. Love the picture.
Oh no….I hope you are okay and the doctor’s diagnosis is nothing more than strain and stress!!! Your card is adorable! What a cute sentiment and image…and of course, the paper piecing is marvelous! Rest up!
Love this card – have always loved pink and green together. The bunny is adorable and the pearls are precious! It’s funny though how people see things differently – you said it’s all about the circles and I wasn’t seeing circles at all. I was first taken by the banners – loved them – and then the polka dotted “stripes” on the balloon. Guess I have an angular mind : ) Love the babies and do hope you get better soon!
