It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! Today we have a theme challenge for you : “Love Is in the Air”. Here is a chance for you to get a head start on those romantic cards for Valentine’s Day. As for me, I opted to make a collage card. I don’t design these very often, because there is a fine line between clutter and collage. And trust me…I did take things off of this before I took the picture. I hope you enjoy “You Are Loved”.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Collage
This finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide x 4-1/4″ long.
- Ink-a-dink-a-do! The “Heart” image, from You Are Loved, was colored using Stampin’ Write Markers in hues of Primrose Petals, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Always Artichoke, and Soft Suede. I then “huffed” on it to remoisten the inks prior to stamping it onto Very Vanilla card stock. After adding a few Waterspots, courtesy of the French Foliage set, and a few Pearls, the image was then mounted onto a Primrose Petals Heart from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper collection.
- Postage Due! A few “Stamp” images from the Postage Due set are awesome add-ons for a collage card!
- Bow! A double Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Bow accents the Wonderful You banner from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. “Blossoms” from You Are Loved were tinted with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke and tediously snipped out. A “Love Ticket” from the Artisan Embellishment Kit was added to the vignette. Notice the gorgeous snippets of lace? They are also from the Artisan Embellishment Kit.
Not for the faint hearted, this card did indeed take several hours to complete. Will I send it out? I don’t think so. I think I will place it in a keepsake frame instead, and give it to Brady. He keeps every card I give him, and I know he would appreciate this one.
So how about it? Did you name all four stamp sets correctly in my In-Color ribbon give-away? If you said You Are Loved, Postage Due, Loving Thoughts, and French Foliage, you were spot on! And what do you think of my attempt at a collage card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one! Until next time…

This is fabulous! It came together beautifully, and the cherry bow unites all the elements. How do you make the pink heart?

Beautiful! Love this card Ann. I just ordered the cherry cobbler seam binding, embossing powder and valentines stamp set. Can’t wait to create with it.
Could be my all time favorite Ann Schach card – fabulous!
I would never try to pull off a collage but you have really created a beautiful card! Love the dark blue card base and the lace. It’s easy to see you put a lot of thought into this card!
Beautiful. Ann!
Keeping this short as I am typing this one handed. Beautiful granddaughter in my other arm!
Ann -I love all your cards – and this one blew me away – beautiful Card…
Ooo-la-la we should have all figured out you would have put your beloved French Foliage water spots in there! This is a gorgeous collage! I love the deep blue – makes everything just pop up and say hey, look at me, and me and me! Love all the little postage images too. Then, there are those signature pearls! Great job!
Hope little Lexi is winning the hearts of the judges and behaving. Looks like you should have good weather coming back. I will pretend you will honk as you drive past gong back home!

Beautiful card that should definitely be frame and treasured. Love the pearls around the heart.
Absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t get the French Foilage one either. I got the other 3. I know I am relatively new to all of this; but, you just continue to WOW me. I just love the flowers in this one. Actually, I love it all. I continue to learn every day and I hope I can become at least half as good as you. Thank you so much for sharing.
WOWZA I LOVE this card !! This is really my style, vintage and shabby !!!! LOVE it Ann !
Hi Ann, Gorgeous card!!! I had to check out today’s post to find out the 4th stamp set. French Foliage!!! Really???? Who would have known. I was thinking that it was the Color Spritzer Tool that produces those “spots”. I did not realized that those background words came from the Print Poetry DSP. I search everywhere in the catalog for all background images. So, did anyone name all four?
Wow!! This is a beauty…I don’t think I’d be able to send this one either!! You had me stumped on the stamps! Ha ha..beautiful job as always!
Brenna
WOW!!! Another stunning card!!!!
Ann, this is absolutely gorgeous! I could never pull this off, but you did it perfectly. The blue background is just perfect. An absolute keepsake! Thank you so much for sharing.
Oh my gosh Ann, I am picking my jaw up off the floor! What a gorgeous, stunning card! I love your choice of colors, the deep blue background, and all the wonderful details! I love collage cards but am not very good at creating them myself. I know Brady will cherish this!
Oh WOW! Great card Ann. I love all the bits and pieces you have put on it to give it a great shabby vintage feel.
What a lovely card. I so love a collage card, just have trouble creating one myself. Maybe I over think what to put together. Thank you for sharing your beautiful art work.

Gorgeous collage card!!! I love how you combined all the elements, Ann.
Now I am kicking myself because I had the instinct to add French Foliage to my previous comment but I just wasn’t positive. The watermark stamp from that set is your trademark!
Ann, this is just gorgeous. I totally agree that there is a fine line between “collage” and “cluttered” — and part of the reason that happens is because the stamps on a cluttered card are often not “to the right scale” of other stamps on the card. Another reason might be that the stamps do not blend well together or are just clumped on the card and not strategically placed. That makes all the difference. This card is superb!
How right you are! This card is definitely not for the faint of heart. Brady will certainly have a treasure with this card. Collage is so easy to overdue, but you have the perfect touch!
Your collage is absolutely gorgeous! Love it. Thanks for sharing. Denise M.
Oh my goodness, Ann, your mind is a wonderful place to be! Collage is funny isn’t it? I love plain, clean, simple, but once in a while a collage just thrills me…and yours is just exceptional! speaking of frames, that’s where your Christmas card is : )
Gorgeous! I love your choice of deep blue for the card base. It makes everything pop. Your stamped heart turned out so well…like watercolor. Collage cards can be tricky, but you hit the nail on the head with this one!
I am not a collage or shabby chic person either. I agree, there is a fine line between collage and too much stuff. But, I think you pulled this off well! The card is a pretty collage card. It is one I would CASE from you as I would tend to turn it into a card with too much stuff, which are cards I do not like. Thanks for sharing and you really pulled this off beautifully! Thanks for sharing.
