Stampin’ Up!’s Bootiful Occasions for the Pals

Need a fabulous sketch?  Pals Paper Arts has just the ticket with their challenge this week.  I inked up the adorable Wellies from Bootiful Occasions to create this sweet little card, suitable for anyone who needs a pick-me-up!  I hope you like it!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips:  Clean and Cute
This fnished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Mix and Match Textures! When teaming up textures, I prefer to pair simple with simple.  In this case, I used the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
  • Faux Watercoloring! The Wellies from Bootiful Occasions were inked with Melon Mambo and stamped onto Whisper White.  To prevent the outline from smearing, Marina Mist was carefully added using ink and a Blender Pen.  The soft coloring adds a touch of whimsey.

  • Blingin’ the ‘brella! Basic Pearls and Rhinestones were used to embellish the Umbrella from Rain or Shine.  Isn’t that sparkle splendid? It’s like sunshine on dew drops

  • Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda!  How about a little Daffodil Delight blossom adorning the umbrella handle instead of Melon Mambo?  The “pop” of color would have been totally unexpected and “delightful”.  As they say, hindsight is 20-20.

What do you think of today’s card?  Do you think the Daffodil Delight blossom would have worked better?  Won’t you let me know in today’s comment?  Your comments are important to me.  I do read each and every one of them.

Lexi, Muffy and I are off to Des Moines this weekend for a show.

Lexi Lou
Muffy Lin

Hopefully one of my girls will come home a winner.  Keep your fingers crossed for us please!  You can never guess the outcome ahead of time.  There are so many variables involved.  But regardless of the outcome, in my eyes, they are both beautiful girls.  Brody will be with Dad, cheering on his sisters from home.

Brody James

He is such a sweetie.  It breaks my heart that we have found more bumps, which we are keeping under observation.  If we are lucky, maybe they will disappear like the one last year.

  1. Love the boots, want a real pair and I think I am going to have to get that set for sure. I loved it right away, but have put off ordering it.

  2. Ooh! I love the embossing and the perfect details! So lovely! And your pups are just gorgeous! Congrats on their victories ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. All of those sweet little details add up to a beautiful card. I think I love the colors the most though! Another fine job.

  4. I am still kicking myself for not getting the Boots set…if for no other reason than these rain boots…your card is absolutely adorable…every bit of it – love it and thank you for sharing it!

  5. Ann this is sooooo stinkin’ adorable. Two of my favorite sets and leave it to you to put them together!!! WHY didn’t I see that? Probably because I’m ‘buried’ in STUFF! Thanks for the inspiration and I’ll just say right now I’m going to CASE this for a class. {smiles]
Have fun and Good Luck with the girls. I have a prayer in the wings for Brody too. hugs.

  6. Delightful card Ann! Those wellies are terrific and I love that you colored them so perfectly without embossing. Very skilled work! Usually mine get muddled along the line somewhere without embossing or using pigment ink.

Best of luck to the girls at the show and sending positive thoughts to Brody to be well!!

  7. Such a cute card, Ann! Love the two different textures and, of course, the cute pair of boots!

  8. This is just too cute Ann! Love the two embossing folders side by side and those boots are so adorable! Love the blinged up umbrella, it adds an elegant touch! I love the Melon Mambo flower as it is but I’m sure yellow would be pretty too!

Sending my very best wishes to Muffy and Lexi this weekend and lots of hugs for dear sweet Brody! I’m sorry to hear about new bumps and sending prayers that they too disappear!

  9. I totally forgot about those boots and should have known with that umbrella. This is just too cute and fun!

Good luck to the girls this weekend – both are so remarkable in their markings. Brody, hugs and good thoughts that all your bumps will be benign. A big hug to the big lug, he is one handsome fellow!

  10. Adorable card Ann. I think daffodil delight would have been a perfect touch (if you need to change an already perfect look). Good luck this weekend with the girls – they are lookers. And Brody is still my favorite (I’ve always loved the all black masks). I pray this latest lump disappears too – give him a hug from me.

  11. That card is STINKIN’ CUTE!!!!

  12. Oh my goodness….I love it all! The umbrella with the rhinestones and pearls is just fabulous. I will have to borrow my friends ‘Bootiful’ set; the boots are so cool. I’m not sure where the flower came from?? Is it in the new catalog? I did watch the video with coloring the flowers…ingenious, and I sent it on to a friend too who just became a S.U. Demonstrator so she is helping me learn too. She lives in another state so it is hard for me to learn long distance. Love the clouds and rain. OMG…I’m so excited about this one that I am just babbling with awe! And, I know I could make this card. Just way too cute! Awesome job!

  13. What a darling card! Love the colors, design and everything! Your dogs are beautiful too! Good luck with them ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Delightful card, Ann; love the sparkly raindrops on the ‘brella, the use of the two EF for your background and the whimsical coloring of the wellies! Oh, heck, I just love the whole card!! Good luck this week-end with the girls. Hugs for Brody; do hope the bumps disappear. Travel safe, Ann! Hugs

  15. So cute, Ann! I love the textured background and the sweet flower on the umbrella.

  16. Adorable card….you’ve married those two sets so well! AND I love the colors you’ve used too! Good luck with the pups!

  17. What a super fun blog post with great card crafting idea of the split background, pictures and stories of your pups! Thank you so much for taking all that extra time to share. I can’t speak for everybody else, but I sure do appreciate your personal stories and pics as much as I do your projects! ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Thursday!

  18. This is so – well, CAS!!!! At least for you! And the colors are perfect!

  19. So cute! I love the way you combined the new Clouds folder and the rain boots. And, I would definitely stay with the pink blossom. Good luck this week-end!

  20. Very cute card. Great bling. The cloud embossing folder could be used for so many different designs. Tell Lexi and Muffy I’m cheering for them this weekend in Des Moines. Sure hope that nothing comes of the new bumps on Brody. Lexi and Muffy look so much alike and Brody’s profile has such a bold, masculine look to him. ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. I love this card! Extremely cute & cleverly done!

Good luck to Lexi & Muffy and best wishes to Brody! They are all just so beautiful! They melt my heart and make me smile to see their pics. So thank you Ann for sharing them with us all.

  22. I really like this card and think of several ways to use it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Although the Daffodil Delight might look great too, I think I like it just the way it is.

Can’t wait to hear about the girls. ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. I love all the coordination pieces. You really did good. It makes me want to get some new goodies too.

PS My new e-mail is trygod25@gmail.com

  24. Cute and fun card. Love the colors and combination of pearls and rhinestones.

Good luck to the girls this weekend and my best wishes for Brody. Safe trip.

  25. Adorable! Love the bright boots and umbrella! Good luck this weekend – enjoy!

  26. You and Cindy both bedazzled your umbrellas! What a fantastic way to keep dry! Those boots are sweet, too!

  27. Those boxers are amazing . . . right down to their dignified middle names! Beautiful card . . . makes me want to walk in the rain. I want those boots!

  28. Now that is one cute card! Love the two different textures side by side.

  29. I have this bootie stamp and thank you so much for this lovely card. I also have a shower to go to and will certainly use your technique. Colors are super and love your twist on using the booties and umrella. Daffodil Delight Blossom would be a nice twist but the card is lovely as is. Thanks for sharing your talent.

  30. Love this card. It is just too cute!
Good luck to the Boxer girls. May they both be winners!
So sorry that Brody has more bumps. How stressful this must be for you and your family! Give all a hug.

  31. Such a cute card! Love that cloud embossing folder too! Such a cute combo with the boots and umbrella! Good Luck with the girls and pug hugs sent to Brody.

  32. GREAT card today! (but no pearls?- are you sure YOU did this one? ๐Ÿ™‚ Just kidding — best of luck to the girls…and prayers for Brody…was so-o-o good to meet you and chat at Leadership!

  33. This is so cute, Ann! I love the dual embossed panels joined by that strip of red. The rain boots are so fun, and the “raindrops” on the umbrella are fantastic.

  34. Great card. Love the side by side embossing using different folders. It’s a great look.

Good luck to your girls. Sending positive thoughts for Brody. He is so handsome. Love all the pictures.

  35. That is so cute and cute is not your norm, but you do it well : ) According to the “rules” color should be used as a gallon, a quart, and a pint – they don’t say anything about a fourth color being a drop, but since yellow is my favorite, I would have loved that. I’m particularly taken with the clouds on the left and the “rain” on the right – very clever and thought provoking. And oh my goodness those babies are delicious!! If I weren’t thousands of miles away I’d babysit your boy while you girls were gone!

  36. This is so pretty, Ann! I Iove the pop that the Melon Mambo adds to the white card and the simple contrasting textures are just perfect!

Wishing you all the best this weekend with Muffy and Lexi. Sending lots of positive thoughts for Brody.
