Just Thinking of the PPA
It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! With a new year, comes a new look! We are sporting a new banner and new badges. And we have more surprises in store, too. This year, each member of the Design Team will be selecting a winner for each challenge! How fun is that! So let’s get started with our first challenge of 2013, a delicious color challenge.
I cannot take credit for the brilliant idea of heat embossing the Just Thinking image. I got my inspiration directly from the new Spring Catalog. What an awesome look! Enjoy today’s elegant but easy card.
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Easy Elegance
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Seeing double! The image was inked with VersaMark and stamped onto Melon Mambo card stock. It was re-inked and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock, too. Both images were heat embossed using Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
- I’ve been framed! The Whisper White version was punched out using the Window Frames Framelits Dies.
- Snippity-do-dah! I snipped out the center of the Melon Mambo image, and also snipped along the outside.
- Two-tone and silky! Basic Black/Basic Gray Two Tone Ribbon makes a regal banner. Doesn’t it look fabulous against the Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper?
So there you have it! It’s an easy card, and not time intensive. Yet, it does have a rich, elegant look about it. I hope you enjoyed it…and I hope that you will join us in this week’s challenge. Remember, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one. Until next time…

Just beautiful, Ann. Love how you worked all of the litte details in. Fabulous!
The ribbon really makes this card! It adds just enough gray, I think. Very nice!
Wow Ann! What a beautiful card! I am loving that two-tone ribbon – just gorgeous! 🙂
Fabulous card…love the colors and that ribbon….all of it!
Hi Girl! Long time — Happy New Year, I hope your Christmas was wonderful.
Glad you are staying on this team — love seeing your gorgeous creations — love these fun colors together!!
Whoa, this is gorgeous! I love that polka dot paper and that ribbon especially! I had to chuckle – how did you decide to use a rhinestone instead of a pearl? Did you finally run out? Just kidding, I love this card with a rhinestone or pearl – it is really an eye catcher!
Good luck this weekend and have a safe trip!

Beautiful card, Ann! Love how you layered the main image, along with your embossing and snipping. Great ideas and wonderful inspiration!
Love the colors and the design.
So classy! Lovin that ribbon…….beautiful look!
SO CAS!!! Not a pearl in sight! Beautifully done. Love how the black on the Melon Mambo gives the illusion of another color in the mix!
Stunning!! I love it!! Ijust got this Stamp as a Christmas gift from a friend and haven’t inked it yet but I will now!!!
What a gorgeous card, Ann!
Love this, Ann! The ribbon banner and the embossing are gorgeous.
What a bright and fun card and color combo!
Gorgeous Ann! This is a stunning card and very clean. The embossing makes it look so elegant too. I love this new stamp!
Thinking of little Lexi today and hoping she did well.
Ann such a pretty card. Lovin’ the color combo too. Love how you made the framed image. So pretty and nice touch. I am assuming you snipped it as we don’t have a punch the size of the circle? bummer. Anyway… it’s beautiful.
PS: I am so glad to see the elements of this set and ribbon in “real size” on a card
I never thought the ribbon was that wide (even if it gave the dimensions…does that even make sense?)
Hugs
I literally said “WOW” when I saw your project. Beautiful use of the stamp (why didn’t I get it) and colors!
Beautiful – but so unlike you : )
Great card. Love the color combo.
Such fun, punchy colors, Ann! And I agree, the heat embossing really makes it pop! Nicely done!
Love it, Ann! This is a great card! Thanks for sharing. Good luck at the dog show!
