This cold and rainy day was tailor-made for staying inside and stamping. So with three contented Boxers by my side, I decided to design a quick and easy card. With its sprig of mistletoe, I think today’s card would be perfect for a significant other. I hope you enjoy “Christmas Love”!
The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips: Easy and Elegant
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- Hot Shot! Heat embossing is easy with Stampin’ Up!’s new Heat Tool. It is quiet enough that it allows sleeping Boxers to remain that way. For today’s card, I inked up the Mistletoe image from Christmas Blessings with VersaMark, and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The leaves were quickly tinted with Always Artichoke ink and a Blender Pen. Of course, every sprig of mistletoe needs Basic Pearl berries!
- Designer Sentiment! I used a VersaMarker to selectively ink the words “Christmas” and “love” on the two sentiment stamps from the Christmas Blessings set. These were heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The result…a custom sentiment perfect for a mistletoe card! No VersaMarker? Don’t despair. You can simply ink the words with Stampin’ Write Markers. If your heart is set on embossing, however, you can “paint” the words using VersaMark ink from the re-inker.
- Oops! Pearls to the rescue! When I discovered that my mat was a smidge too short for my card base, I did not panic! What else would I use to cover my blooper? Why Pearls, of course! And do I have a Pearl Tree in my back yard? I’ll never tell. You will just have to come and visit me to see!
Twins Update
Muffy and Brody thank you for the well wishes. Brody’s appetite has returned, and Muffy continues to grow stronger everyday. It appears from some of the emails I have received, that others have had similar episodes with their furbabies…including being placed on IV’s. Whatever the cause of it…let’s hope it does not come knocking at your door! Little Lexi is still healthy. It seems that she is a fashion maven who doesn’t approve of tassels on shoes. At least, I assume that is why she chewed them off mine. How can anything so cute be so naughty?

Would You Like a Free Spring Mini Catalog
If you would like to be added to my mailing list for a copy of the Spring Catalog, please email me. I would be more than happy to see that you receive a copy when they become available later in December.
I hope you enjoyed today’s card. I tried to design something that could be created in a relatively short time. Although I used the retired Snowburst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, you could substitute a different folder…or even a coordinating pattern from one of your favorite Designer Series Paper collections. So what do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one! Until next time…
Stamp Set: Christmas Blessings; Inks: VersaMark, Always Artichoke; Card Stock: Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Brushed Gold; Tools: Big Shot, Heat Tool, Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Blender Pen, Snowburst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (retired), VersaMarker (retired); Glitz and Glam: Basic Pearls

Oh, your pup stories give me a smile, especially about the tassels! Sorry to hear the others have been ill. ๐
Beautiful Easy and Elegant card! I love pearls, and of course always love to see how you use yours.
This is so elegant, Ann! I know I’m going to have to CASE it! Just have to! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Hi Ann, glad to hear that the boxers are recovering well. I love your elegant Christmas card. It is stunning! Love the sentiment.

Ann this is just beautiful. love love love the pearl mistletoe berries, but my oh my…. only you would think the front mat was a smidge too short and use a WHOLE ROW of those precious pearls. Wow!
Now whom ever gets this beauty better be worth all those.. ๐
Glad little Lexi is not sick and hope the twins are on the mend.
hugs
Beautiful, elegant card, Ann. And here I thought the row of pearls at the bottom was intentional (hee hee)!
I missed a few of your blog posts and didn’t realize Muffy and Brody were so sick! How frightening! So glad they are on the mend.
Your card is gorgeous! I just love that embossed background.
I don’t know what to say about Lexi…..she is a stinker. The first dog we had was young enough that she loved chewing on our shoes…..especially patten leather.
I always knew you had a pearl tree in your yard! Ha! The secret is out! What a gorgeous holiday card! The gold adds the perfect pop of glitz and glam. ๐
Love clean and simple and this shouts it out. Love the mistletoe and your added touches. I’m so glad the twins are doing better. And Lexi looks beautiful in her photo.
A very lovely card. Can you send me the “seeds” for your pearl tree? Dar
Beautiful card and look at all those pearls!
Glad the twins are getting better daily. Of course Lexi didn’t do anything she shouldn’t have. It had to be someone else! Great picture.
Wow! The pearls are the perfect finish for the mistletoe! The perfect Christmas colors and embossed background too! You just had a “happy accident”. Naughty Lexi!
Gorgeous card! I hadn’t even noticed the row of pearls at the bottom until I read it! That is wonderful way of adding to the design. I just loved the mistletoe to start with! I didn’t stamp anything while the weather was so crapy but I looked at lots of magazines.
So, glad the twins are better – Muffy ended up with the worst of it and it will take her a little longer to recover probably. Lexi is gorgeous but I bet she can be ornery just like a basset hound who is laying on my foot while I type this.
Thanks again for sharing your gorgeous card!

This is so pretty
OMG Ann, I’m so glad the ‘kids’ are better. Big hugs to both you and the doggies.
The card is beautiful!!
You are just creating one beautiful holiday card after another – you are so ahead of the game! And sweet Lexi doesn’t look naughty ๐
I love your and and the stories about your furbabies. I am not sure which I like best.
This card is just beautiful
Ooh ms Ann, only you , it’s so pretty , love your cards , your baby’s are also so pretty and getting big ! Nice job !!
Hugs frenchie !!!
Just beautiful, Ann! I love the clean and simple lines, yet it is also very elegant! I’d love nothing better than to come visit and see if you really have a pearl tree in your backyard but alas, I’m so far away! It would be an honor to sit and stamp with you!
So glad Muffy and Brody are feeling better and oh how I remember those days of our dear Rusty chewing up a number of my shoes! Hubby secretly was cheering until I came home one day with boxes of shoes to replace them! lol
Pearls to the rescue! Love it, Ann! This is a beautful card. Great fix. Bandit says “hi” to Lexi.
The Pearl Princess strikes again – just gorgeous. This card sings to my orderly, symmetrical side. Love it! I used a mistletoe image myself this weekend, but it was from the Peaceful Wishes set – one of my favorites. Lexi looks good enough to eat! Glad the twins are feeling better, that means you are too.
Gorgeous card and I love all those pearls and the embossing. You have me laughing between the pearls and Miss Lexi. ๐ She is just as beautiful as your card and a mess. TFS!
Simple and beautiful! Love it!
Having pets is just about like having kids again, I think. Your Lexi is beautiful!
I think you made a wonderful card. It is so hard to believe the Holidays are so close.
Also I am glad to hear the Twins are getting better. That was some nasty stuff they had. Hugs to your sick ones.( and Lexi too)
As for Lexi she must be a designer. Good luck on breaking her from the naughty things she does.
Beautiful card Ann. Love the photo of your Boxer.
