Farewell to Freshly Made Sketches

All good things must come to an end, and so it is with my position as a Guest Designer at Freshly Made Sketches.  I was thrilled to be selected as a part of this insanely talented group of stampers.  However, with Lexi  beginning her show career and my travels with her, Brady’s upcoming visits home,  and a myriad of Stampin’ Up! events which are being added to my calendar,  I felt that the time was right for me to step down.  I will miss the team at FMS, but I will treasure the time I spent with them.  And I know I will continue to play with them as time allows.  And so…for one last time…

It’s Wednesday, and time to play at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week, the talented Narelle has a classic sketch for us.  I hope you enjoy today’s card.  It’s easy!  The Big Shot does all the work.

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips
This finished card meaasures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Let it snow! The Snow Flurry die was used to make this pearl accented snowflake.  A scalloped circle punched from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper makes this icy confection “pop” off the page! And yes…that middle layer has been embossed!

  • Non-traditional! Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla make an elegant color combination when embossed with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impression Embossing Folder.

  • Versatile sentiment!  The Warm Winter Wishes sentiment, from Winter Memories, is perfect for a winter card.  This makes this card one which can be sent the entire winter season!

Lexi’s show debut is this week.  She and Muffy will be strutting their stuff in Sioux Falls, SD.  The girls and I leave early Thursday on the 7 hour drive.  We will return late Sunday.  This week has definitely gone to the dogs!  However, my Paper Players card is done and my Sunday post is ready.  Muffy and Lexi will be ready to update you on how they did during one of  next week’s post!

As always, your comments are important to me.  Won’t you let me know what you think of my final Freshly Made Sketches card?  And of course, if you ever have a question about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.  Until next time…

  1. Ann gorgeous card. Love the way you embossed the BG papers together, and wow… the scallop circle would never have come to my mind with the snowflake. I just Love how you used the ‘large’ snowflake, which I really struggle with. The two smaller ones are favorites, but I have a hard time with the large, so thanks for the inspiration as always.
Sorry to see you leave the FMS team, but as I’ve said before… I don’t know how you keep up with all the DTs that must want you on the their team. Good luck with Lexi and twins showings, and look forward to the updates. hugs.

  2. Beautiful Ann! Love all that embossing! Such an elegant card! I still have so much to learn from you! We will miss you dearly! I will be checking your blog daily!!!

  3. I’ve loved seeing your cards at FMS Ann – I do understand about heavy schedules though and fitting everything in. Jen left me a comment to say she could pick out my cards in a police line-up – I could say the same of yours! I love the texture and interest you add with all your little details – lovely card!

  4. Oh my Ann…this is amazing (do I write that all the time?) Love the embossed background with the layer inlaid, love the COLOURS!!! So cool! And the pearled up flake takes it over the edge of elegance. Wow! I understand about taking time for yourself, thank you for all of your hard work at FMS, I loved having you on the team my friend!
    Hugs,
    Lesley

  11. Beautiful card Ann! I haven’t had time to react to your goodbye yet; I’m off on a business trip and have had time to think of little else. I will miss you my new friend at FMS but I will continue to follow your blog and your fur-babies careers. Best of luck with the upcoming shows.

  14. Kim, You make some of the most gorgeous cards with such extra-special detail and touches. I love when you also post pics of your pooches. My favorite pic was when they were all looking out the window watching the kids on their way to school. I appreciate your blog a great deal. Enjoy your next adventure with your show dogs. 🙂
