Happy Halloween for Pals Paper Arts

It’s Thursday and time to play at Pals Paper Arts!  This week we are featuring a terrific trio of colors: Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, and Pumpkin Pie.  To me, these colors screamed Halloween! I hope you enjoy this little Greeting Card Kids cutie patootie witch, perched upon her paper-pieced and rhinestone studded pumpkin!

The Stampin’ Schach Design Tips

This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.

  • Paper piecing! This little witch is stylin’ with her Lucky Limeade paper pieced dress and socks.  Her pumpkin perch was also paper pieced and then blinged using Basic Rhinestones.  What do you think of the Spider Web embossed scallop circle behind her?
  • Banners!  Three banners, one in each of the challenge colors, form the perfect backdrop for the focal image! Textured Very Vanilla card stock allows the colors to “pop”!
  • Bow! A double bow, fashioned from gorgeous striped satin ribbon adds subtle sheen and texture!

This little cutie doesn’t have a home yet.  Maybe I will just tuck it into Brady’s Halloween goody box, along with some cookies, candy, nuts and popcorn. Nothing beats a goody box from home!

The house seems so quiet without little Lexi.  She will be spending the next month with her handler in Nebraska getting ready to hit the show circuit in October.  Actually, she is staying a little longer than originally planned, since I will be in Hilton Head for the Stampin’ Up! Getaway at the end of this month.  At this age, she is very impressionable, and I needed her to be with someone she knew and trusted.  Now the Twins are another story…they can stay with anyone and be perfectly fine.  Anybody want a pair of guests for a few days???

As always, your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them.  In fact, I can’t wait to catch up from my dog show weekend.  And of course, I am always more than willing to answer any questions about the cards I make and the techniques I use.  Remember, I am only an email away!  Until next time…

The Twins are welcome here anytime, I would love to have them visit my pack! What fun they would all have!

  5. What a wonderful card! I love how the ribbon mirrors the texture in those banner strips, and of course the image you chose is just perfect for this color challenge!

  6. I know that these colors are the challenge colors, but boy did you make them work well together. Such a bright and vibrant card. I love it.
I know that you will miss Lexie, but think of all of that uninterrupted sleep you will get! LOL! I hope you have a great time on your trip, HH is such a pretty place.

  7. Definitely a cutie patootie Ann. Halloween would have been my choice with these colors too. Lots of bling and elements – a real Ann card!
If the twins would like to vacation in NY they can visit me.

  8. I have a card from last year that needs a tweak – it is very similar in design. We were doing an assembly line and someone else colored my cute little witch and it is not how I would like it to be… but I think I want to layer it like this now! It’s already a scallop over a circle… not much work involved! :)I Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Cutie patootie indeed! I love the polka dot dress! Wonderful job all the way around! I really love that ribbon and gotta have some. Love, love all the details and I don’t even really get excited about Halloween!

I am trying to figure out how I could take care of the twins for you but not sure what Henry would think! Would Dr. Rita know of someone she would trust her own to?

  12. Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
    Eating her curds and whey,
    Along came a spider,
    Who sat down beside her
    And frightened Miss Muffet away!
LOL! This is what popped into my mind when I was looking at your adorable card! Love the DSP you selected, the bedazzled pumpkin and the way you cut the ends of the banners along with the textured background. Lucky Brady!!

Congratulations on the girls successful week-end also. Loved the pictures you shared in your previous post.
