It’s time for another fabulous Freshly Made Sketches challenge. For today’s classic sketch, designed by the talented Cindy Hall, I used one of my favorite new stamp sets, Postage Due. Enjoy the “Adventure”!
The finished card measures 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
- Color me wild! It’s all about color with this card! An Island Indigo textured panel is adhered to a Riding Hood Red card base. A textured More Mustard mat anchors the stamped images, while Cajun Craze card stock is used to create a Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. Oh…that More Mustard ric-rac? It is from the Bandstand Simply Scrappin’ Kit!
- Feeling adventurous? To coordinate with the Travel theme of this card, I wanted to use the word “adventure”. I used an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and inked only the word “adventure” in the sentiment from the Daring Adventure stamp set. I then stamped it onto Naturals Ivory card stock.
- The “pearl-fect” touch! A quintet of Basic Pearls add interest to a corner, while a single one graces the front wheel of the bicycle.
This past weekend, Muffy and Lexi hit the show ring. A big hug and a biscuit goes out to Muffy, who went Reserve Winner to a 5 Point Major. The “Reserve Winner” means that she was the second place Boxer female. The size of the show is rated from 1 to 5, with a 5 point major having the most dogs entered. At this show, there were 65 Boxers entered. Needless to say, we were all thrilled. I will definitely post her show picture as soon as I receive it.
However, I do have pictures of little Lexi as she competed in the puppy fun match at 4-1/2 months of age. It was super hot, so she had to wear a “cool coat”, which is a little coat cooled in ice water and then placed on them to keep them cool. Isn’t she a cutie patootie in Muffy’s leopard spotted coat? Here she is in her “first show”!

Little Lexi won her class, and was Best of Opposites to her brother Tyler, who won Best of Breed. She should have beat her brother, but she didn’t perform as well. Lexi prefers to do things her own way, like getting loose from her handler and running across the ring.
And as far as Brody is concerned, he was finally able to catch up on his sleep while his sisters were away!
So there you have it! I hope you enjoyed the puppy pictures. I couldn’t be prouder of my two beautiful ladies! And what do you think of today’s card? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them. Of course, if you have any questions about the cards I create, I am only an email away! Until next time…

Oh my gosh, this is beautiful! I love how you used this set to create a fabulous collage! These colors are gorgeous together! And only you could use pearls on a travel card and make it look elegant!
Congratulations to the Boxer Girls! It is always a treat to hear about how well they are doing in the show ring! You know we are their biggest fans! And Brody looks like he is enjoying the peace and quiet at least temporarily!
Wow …. fabulous card … love all the detailing, texture and colour!
Love the pics of your young ones!
Such wonderful layers, Ann!! My style leans towards UBERCAS, but I so admire you ladies who can put these layers together without it looking like a big mess (like mine), because the resulting texture is just devine.
Great card Ann but I’m afraid my favorite photos are of the girls. Could Lexi be getting her mischievousness (is that a word?) from her brother Brody? They are beautiful girls Ann and obviously well on their way to champions.
adorable – both the card & puppies!
hugs, m
Ann – Thanks for the update on the pups. I always look forward to those posts! Congrats to the girls!! Thanks for also including a pic of Brody. I hope that he’s doing well.
Love your card! And I always enjoy hearing about your “kids”. Congrats to the girls!!
Smiles, Laura
I wasn’t so sure about this set, but I’m glad I went ahead and got it!! So many lovely cards like yours for inspiration too!
Good job with your babies!!!
such a great card and a wonderful display of stamped images……so vintage looking.
Congratulations to Muffy and Lexi.
Hi Ann, I love how you have used this set. It is a set that is well and truly on my wish list – just waiting til the next quarter!! You have so many great finishing touches on there! So glad to see Lexi doing so well with her showings! She is beautiful!
I don’t know whether I should comment about your fantastic card (gorgeous colors) or your fantastic pups (gorgeous all around)! And awwww, Brody having a snooze is so sweet.
Good grief, you are gonna need a bigger house or just a whole room devoted to all the doggie awards and honors! Congrats to the girls – love the idea that she got away from the handler – did she just want to go see her brother? I am sure you and the handler were mortified! Lexi is getting to be such a big girl! Congrats esp. to Muffy too! Brody definitely needed to rest up for when you all came home and had stories to tell!
Love the card! Not sure if my favorite detail are the pearls in the corner or the pearls on the car tires/wheels! Love the rich colors.

Love those puppy pics! Exciting that Lexi won an award. 🙂
Hi Ann! Beautiful card – love the color palette! Love hearing about all your fur-babies! My Marley is a boxer-lab mix. She looks more like a lab but acts more like a boxer.
Love the rich colors and pearls on the bike and car wheels.
Congrats to Muffy & Lexi!
Looks like Brody enjoyed his boys’ weekend.
Pearls for wheels? I love it!!!! Congrats to the girls!
Your card is fabulous Ann. I like all the elements that you have going on. You sure can work those pearls into any theme lol.
Great pictures of the girls and I am sure that the boys had just as great a weekend.
Wow, love the colors and great design. Congrat’s to Muffy!
Your life is an adventure with those Boxer babies! And that Lexi has spunk! Kudos to the girls~! Oh and very pretty card 🙂
Oh little Lexi is too cute. Brightened my morning!
Your cards are always inspiring. I love the puppy pics because I am a huge dog lover…cats too but I don’t have one, Only have a border collie/lab mix I rescued.
As usual, awesome card. You have inspired me to ink up that set. Thanks for the updates on your four-legged kids and a huge congrats too!
Love the card and love the boxers! The gals are adorable and Brody is so handsome!!! Love those furbabies!
Wow Lexie you sure are a pretty girl!!!
Love your card Ann.
Ann I love your card really like the layout. Of course all the texture goes together fabulously and only you would show us how use pearls with bikes! Love that touch. Your banner is perfect accented by the little ‘stamp’ images. So nice.
PS: Also happy for the girls Big Adventure.. you must be so proud.
PSS: and I LOVE that stamp set. I almost didn’t get it but so glad I did. I’ve used a ton of times now in all sorts of colors, then in black/white, brown tones, etc. I think it’s going to be one of my Go-To sets…(I sure havea lot of those!)
Hugs
Look at how big Lexi is getting! How awesome for both of the girls! Hope Brody didn’t miss them too much over the weekend. Love the card. Wow!
Ann, This is beautiful. Love all the texture and color. I have the postage punch and haven’t even used it yet. You have inspired me to dig it out.
Congratulations to the Lady Boxers! Thank you for sharing all the sweet photos. You know your fan club it also their fan club and we love seeing what they are up to and hearing about their adventures. And Mr. Brody…well, I’m sure he needed a little R&R. It can’t be easy living with those two girls. : ) But I bet he was certainly excited to see them when you got home.
That’s a fascinating card – so many treasures to uncover with the eyes. And the babies – oh my!!!
Wonderful collage of stamped images on your travel card. I love all the texture and color!
Congrats to your girls! Muffy and Lexi did awesome and you have every right to be proud of both of them! Mr. sleepyhead looks adorable as well. Sounds like a super fun weekend, minus the heat. Thanks for sharing with us Ann!
Love what you did with this set. Especially how you worked your pearls in. I just ordered this set and am excited to get it.
Congrats to Lexi!
