It’s Thursday, and time to play at Pals Paper Arts! This week the Pals are hosting a color challenge featuring Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist and Real Red. My card is a bright and cheery confection featuring the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. Even though I journeyed outside of my comfort zone on this card, I must say I had fun on my “adventure into cuteness”! Enjoy!
The finished card measures 5-1/2″ wide by 4-1/4″ long.
- Patterns a-plenty! Strips of Marina Mist, Summer Starfruit and Real Red designer papers form a bright and cheery cacaphony of color and sets the tone for the entire card!
- Oops-a-Paper Daisy! Paper Daisies mounted atop Boho Blossoms in the required colors are sprinkled around the base of the canning jar. Mini-brads form the centers! Colorful blossoms inside the jar are muted through a layer of vellum.
- Friends go better with bling! Rhinestones accent the end of the “friends” banner, which has been mounted on Marina Mist Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper.
- A country touch! The Real Red covering of the jar takes on a country flair courtesy of a wee bit of Linen Thread!
I rarely do “cute” cards, but I did have fun with this one! What do you think? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? And of course, if you ever have any questions about the cards I create or the techniques I use, I am only an email away.
Speaking of cute, I am ending today’s post with a couple of pictures of Lexi which were taken yesterday. In the first one, she is sitting on top of her brother, Brody. It is one of her favorite places to rest in the entire house, but he has the patience of a saint with her.
The second one shows her with her “big girl” ears. You will probably remember from Muffy’s baby pictures that they do grow into their ears. Lexi will definitely melt any judge’s heart with that sweet, sweet look and little head tilt.
Lexi will be cheering on her sister, Muffy at a three-day show this weekend. This will be Muffy’s first trip out with her new handler, Rhonda. I expect it will be a learning experience for all involved.
As always, I hope that today’s card has inspired you in some little way…even if it is only to step outside your comfort zone. Until next time…

I really love this card Ann because it is so bright and cheery!! A really happy card in those colours and I love the flowers! Lexi is so cute – can’t resist that sweet look! We just lost one of our fur babies – very very sad.
Totally cute Ann. Love the vellum, colors and the daisies. Great job!
Ann, you excel at any style of card that you make! This is definitely cuteness personified! Love the bright, cheery colors and that tag is awesome! Love all the layers on it! Love the vellum on the jar too!
What a sweet picture of Brody and Lexi, I love how he is such a patient big brother! And her ears look fabulous! Good luck to Miss Muffy this weekend, I know she will steal the show!
Such a cute card Ann. I love the bright colours and the vellum jar is fabulous with its flowers.
Lexi is so cute and I am glad that there were no ill effects with her ears while you were at convention.
Good luck to Muffy
How much do I love the term you coined…”adventure into cuteness”? Seriously love that! And while I’m at it, I seriouly LOVE this fun and fabby card, too. Just makes me smile, tell ya!
I attempted to use vellum on my little canning the other day and it didn’t work out as well as your did at all. Hmmm!
Oh, those sweet boxers just melt my heart. Best of luck to Muffy (and to little Lexi on her big adventure) this weekend. Hugs! 🙂
Love this card! Very clever with the vellum over the jar! The doggies are way too cute, always love seeing them! 🙂

Fun card, Ann! Over the top!
Lovely card Anne…you do cute just as well as you do beautiful! Also have to say I love the pics and news about all of your boxers…Lexi is just a sweetie pie. Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations on your blog.
Very cute card indeed. Great bright color choices. I’m on vacation, actually two back to back. I’ll be in Houston tomorrow to visit with my dd and family. Can’t wait to see my little 3 year old gs again. Wishing Muffy a successful weekend. Lexi is such a heart stealer. Dar
You do cute almost as fantastically as you do vintage. Great card, love the vellum jar. It looks like a shaker card. Love seeing your emails in my inbox!
Everytone is going with the cute theme – well I will go with the Olympics. The card gets a perfect score with a gold medal as well as the photos of the fur babies! Brody actually gets an added point for just putting up with his litle sister sitting on him! We all know Muffy will rock and add to her collection of trophies and ribbons even with her new trainer. She is the crowning diva afterall!

Super card, Ann! I love the daisies your created.
Lexi looks adorable and can’t wait to see how she grows into those ears! She certainly has the best brother ever in Brody!
Best of luck to Muffy this weekend! My Lexi will have her paws crossed for Muffy!
Love this card with the jar set off with the linen thread! The daisies and the combination of the colors are perfect!

This is sooo cute and playful, Anne. I really like the Perfectly Preserved set and I love what you did with it! So funny because I did a home decor project with it last night for my stamp class. They loved it too.
You sure now how to do cute! This card is definitely cheery. Love the added flowers.
Such a cute Boxer family. Good luck to Miss Muffy this weekend.
I don’t know if the card is cuter or if Lexi’s face is cuter! Tough call!! 🙂
Cute, cute card, Ann! I had to smile, ’cause I just created something soooo similar for a DT project that won’t appear until next week. (shhhhh….)
Lexi is absolutely a darling. I’m glad Brody doesn’t mind her sitting on him!
Ann how cute is that! It just makes me want to go on a picnic! LOVE polka dots and they look fab as a background for the cutie patootie flowers! Love it.
Lexi is too funny sitting on her brother..hugs
Ann, you can pull of any style and this is no exception! What a great way to use this set! The Paper Daisies are terrific!!
Yes it is cute, but very tastefully cute. You never go overboard Ann, no matter what style you are using. Another winner!
Love this card Ann !! I am obsessed with this set, I use it all the time !! Keep trying to think of fun things to put in that jar !! Hahaha. TFS !!
OMGosh….this card is ADORABLE!!!! I just LOVE it!! Love all the colors and the vellum jar…FANTASTIC job!! And Lexi is just TOO cute!! Although (don’t hate me for saying this), I REALLY loved her floppy ears!! I know you can’t show her that way, but she was just too darned CUUTE!! She still has an adorable face though, so she’ll be breakin’ hearts all over that stage when she is ready to show!! 🙂
Oh my goodnes it IS fun!! And Lexi just melts my heart, as does her patient brother (and her sister too)
This is a really cute card, Ann! I didn’t order this set, but I’m thinking I’m going to need to do so! Love Lexi’s cute pics too!
Love all the colors and papers used on the card. Very fun and summery!
And tell Muffy we are hoping she will have a really good show with her new handler. Your “kids” are a good looking crew!!!
You’ve totally rocked the receipe of this card!!!
Love, love, love how your journey ended with this card. Nothing wrong with cute, adorable, fun. Perfect for the colors. Thanks for some pictures. Been wondering how the kids are. Much luck to Muffy this weekend.
I am in love with your card! I hope you don’t mind, I “pinned” it. The vellum is so adorable and I love the bright colors!
This is so adorable, I love the bright colors and the jar image. Too cute!
First of all, the card is gorgeous, I can’t wait to have the new in colours here in the UK (although I’m not at all tired of the old ones yet!) I am dying to have a stamp of a jar as well as I’ve seen so many fab ways of using it. Secondly, Lexi has grown into such a big girl, I can hardly believe it. The photo of her with Brody is lovely.
I love it! It just says “Summer” in so many ways, the colors, flowers, etc.
Hi Ann! All your card styles are wonderful and this is no exception! Love the mix of dsp and the vellum overlay. This is so charming and fits well with this stamp set. I’ve been wondering how much I’d use this set and I like it with the flowers. I haven’t seen any examples with those except yours and I love it! Lexi is growing into her ears. Such a sweetie! And Brody is so patient with her. My yellow lab likes to do that and he weighs 97 pounds! He likes to sit on my lap when I’m on the floor with them or his brother’s head. Gotta love life with dogs!!
I adore this card!
Love your adventure into cuteness Ann! Just goes to show that you make great cards in any style!
I think this is the best card I have seen so far using this stamp set. I too love the vellum idea over the jar. It adds a touch of softness. I personally love “cute”. I find your work to be fantastic! Thanks for sharing what you love.
Congratulation! Your project has been chosen for the Blog Finds of the Day on August 3. If you would like to see other projects chosen for blog finds, please visit http://blogfindsoftheday.blogspot.com
Cute, cute card!!! Lexi just melts my heart!!! Speaking of cute, she’s a cutie herself! 🙂 Her ears are looking great! Much success to Muffy this weekend!
Very colorful and cheerful card. Really shows us the versatility of this set — it goes well with fall colors also. The vellum paper is that touch of genius you always provide. Thanks Ann!
I love the mix of DSP, cheerful colors, mason jar with country lid and all the flowers! Great card, Ann!
And, thanks for the update on Lexi… she is adorable and very fortunate to have such a sweet bro’!
I’d say your adventure into cuteness was a huge success! Love all the little daisies outside the jar and the vellum layer. What a fun card!
This is adorable – as is that little Lexi Lou! Love that sweet jar and flowers – little bit country – I like it!
Love this, Ann! Bright and cheery!
I put this set together last night. Might have to try it out today.
I LOVE this card. It is so bright and cheery. I have this set but have yet to use it. You certainly inspired me here. Love the pictures of Lexi. Brody is patient. Of boxers are that. I remember my children crawling all over ours.
Ann, I LOVE this card! You always inspire me and make me KICK myself for having deleted something from an order not even 24 hours after doing so!!! I should have known better when I opted for Wonderfall and the Sizzix leaves die over this set! It’s going right back to the top of my “must have” list now!
Mary
Really like the card and pictures!
Super fun “cute” card, Ann! I love the vellum jar; I have that set and haven’t ventured into playing with the jar yet!!! I just love the paper daisies!
