It’s Sunday, and time to play with The Paper Players! This week the amazing LeAnne has a wonderful sketch for us. I decided to employ the Triple Time Stamping technique with a slight twist, using LeAnne’s sketch instead of the traditional stack of three layers. Since I have not made any fall cards yet, I pulled out one of my favorite sets for autumn…French Foliage. Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card, so I added a “With Sympathy” banner created with the Loving Thoughts set.
This finished card measures 4-1/4″ wide by 5-1/2″ long.
- A triple treat! The trick to Triple Time Stamping is stamping three layers at one time. I used Naturals Ivory card stock for the images and matted with Early Espresso card stock. I lightly adhered the Naturals Ivory pieces into position according to the sketch, and then randomly stamped the various Leaves images in Always Artichoke, More Mustard and Cajun Craze. To add a little texture, I zipped the stack through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Next, I just matted the stamped images onto Early Espresso card stock and rebuilt the stack.
- Bow-dacious bow! A unique ribbon treatment of loops of Always Artichoke Seam Binding and Victoria Crochet Lace create the “wow” factor on this card!
- Simple sentiment! “With Sympathy” from Loving Thoughts was inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto Naturals Ivory card stock. The edges were distressed with Crumb Cake ink, while the instant speckles were courtesy of the Color Spritzer Tool and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.
And I do want to share some awesome news with you! My son, Brady the Boy (not to be confused with Brody the Boxer), was named principal trumpet in the University of Missouri Orchestra. Now that classes have started, and he has met new friends, he seems to be settling into his new role as graduate assistant. He even called me yesterday and asked if I could bake a batch of cookies so he could share them with the tuba professor!
So what do you think of the Triple Time Stamping with a Twist? Won’t you let me know in today’s comment? Your comments are important to me, and I do read each and every one of them. As for me…I think I like the traditional stacked look better. But you know what, I would not have known that if I would not have experimented! Until next time…
Stamp Set: French Foliage, Loving Thoughts; Inks: Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker; Card Stock: Naturals Ivory, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze; Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Sponge Dauber, Color Spritzer Tool, Paper Snips; Glitz and Glam: Always Artichoke Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Linen Thread, Victoria Crochet Trim, Naturals Designer Buttons

I love this twist on triple stamping. Leave it to you, Ann, to incorporate the technique in a way I have not seen yet. Keep inspiring those of us who are far less creative.
This. Is. GORGEOUS!!! Ann, you have truly created a stunning card with a new twist on that stamping technique. (I really want to give it a try!) Every single detail on this one is perfection, I tell ya! Whew!
Congrats to Brady ! Sounds like he is settling in very well and I just have one question…a.re you going to share that cookie recipe with us?? 😉
What a beauty, Ann! As soon as I saw it on iPICKS I knew it was yours! Love the twist on the technique and pretty bow that’s your trademark.
Love the twist! Such a beautiful card. Fall colors are my favorite to wear and decorate with all year round. Great job with the bow-dacious ribbon too. You are so very creative. Dar
Ann, this is the most beautiful card I have seen using the Triple Time Stamping Technique!!! Thank you so much for sharing your art with us — you are very talented!! (I CASEd your card exactly with no changes, except running it through the Embossing Folder because I forgot. I will be posting on my blog next month with a link to your blog.)
What a fabulous card and a great variation on the technique. I absolutely love it.
well imho I think this take on the triple stamping technique definitely has a wow factor to it Ann-the ribbon treatment is gorgeous-and I love this fall stamp set
I love the triple stamping. And I think the technique on this card is what makes it unique. It’s a beautiful card. And kudos to Brady. So glad he’s settling in.
Love your twist on the triple time stamping!!! Your card is beautiful! Congrats to your son!!!
LOVE that stamp set and the unusual placement is great. Also love the embedded look with the embossing folder! Great Job. Good for your son! He must be very talented!
I LOVE the twist on triple time stamping! How creative yet simple. Fabulous card.
Nicely embedded images, Ann! And congrats to Brady – that is fabulous news. 🙂 Must make your momma heart so proud!
Wow! This is truly stunning!! The background is gorgeous and you have clearly spent time and care to embellish it perfectly.
I have a trumpet player too (but only middle school) – and a high school sax player – it’s such a wonderful activity. So glad to see your son is carrying through with it and so successfully!
Ann this is gorgeous and i just love this set. It looks fabulous in so many colors and this one is a LOVELY example.
French Foliage is one of the sets I will never part with.
Of course your bow treatment is a spotlight!
Congrats to Brady!
Hugs
Ann, this is stunning!! I love your twist idea on this triple time stamping and the texture you added along with button and ribbon. I have to try one of these. Congrats for Brady and glad to hear he is settling in. So now it seems you’ll be baking some cookies for them. Sounds yummy!! Your so creative!!
Sorry this comment won’t be longer, as I have to go into my craft room and recreate that super card! The little touches of button, bow and extra cut out leaves made this one over the top great! Thanks, Ann!
Ann, this card ROCKS! I love your clever use of the trip time stamping with LeAnne’s sketch. I dare say, it will become de rigeur for the technique. Your color choices are fabulous, as always, and I ADORE your big loopy bow. Big hugs to you and congrats to Brady the Boy!
Gorgeous card!!!
You go girl! Another Award Winning card. I am BLOWN away how so pretty this came out. You got my mojo going by pulling put my French Foliage set (a keeper).
Thanks a bunch! xo, Marian Garcia
What an honor for Brady! Congratulations to him. Your card is such a pretty card for Fall. It does make a lovely sympathy card with the colors you used.
What an awesome honor for Brady to be PRINCIPLE in his section. Quite an accomplishment. He probably got his talent from you, on he blows his and you stamps around with yours!
Great take on the Triple. This is the stamp set I received free when I went to the one and only convention! Brings back nice memories.
Woof – loud and demanding! I don’t think she knows what she wants.
Thanks for blessing my day. 🙂
Oh my goodness, this is to fabulous for words!! I like
your ‘twist’ on this technique better than the original – the sketch lent itself perfectly to this idea. The leaves together with the colour scheme and the texture looks so beautiful and your extra cut-out leaves, ribbon and button are just perfect finishing touches!
Oh, this is LOVELY….I so want to use this technique, and it is fabulous with these leaves! Too bad it had to be a sympathy card, but so glad you shared it with us. Just beautiful! Thanks for making my sketch look great!
Great idea to change it up a bit. Thanks for sharing!
Ann, this is exquisite! I do like your twist on the triple technique but mostly I’m lovin’ your embellishments! As always, they are spectacular and take your card up a few more notches!
Congrats to Brady! I know how those sons of ours warm our hearts in a special way!
Ann, this is gorgeous! I love your triple stamping with a twist – it is stunning and the addition of texture makes it even more beautiful. I’m definitely going to give this a try when I use this technique again.
Congrats to Brady on his achievements!
Ann, your variation is so pretty! It looks fantastic with French Foliage and the embossing too. Love your bow. As always, another inspiring card!
I love every detail of this beautiful card. Thank you so much for Sharing, and your instructions are so perfict.
Congrats to Brady! I like the triple stamping technique. I’ll have to try it this week. Very lovely card.
Ann I am so happy for Brady. It is such a great way to get recognized at University as well as a complete honor. I am glad he is making friends, no doubt, if it was like Jordan’s music MA, the group forms a really tight bond and gets to really deep friendship. He’s a T.A.? What a great experience. Does he want to be a music prof in University by any chance? What are his dreams? Hey, how did he feel about what you named your other son (Brody) – I have always meant to ask you. And my friend, we are missing some twin talk!!!! How are they doing? Is the whipper snapper getting into shape yet for showing. Gosh they grow so fast. And as for that card, I am so glad, again, that sympathy cards have become a celebration of life rather than this black dress and hat affair. It is somber enough for the family, and when they receive such beauty like this from you, it helps them to remember the beauty of the person they lost. I love that! Somber only helps bring forward somber and I really don’t like that…I always appreciated the Shiva process. Do you have a person in mind for this? Have you lost another friend? I hope not. And as for the cookies…that boy still thinks of his mom as his mommy. You did a stellar job Ann! xox He will always be “your boy”, no matter who comes into his life…I just have that sense. Please congratulate him from one of your friends. I know exactly how deeply this is a celebration having just come off going through this with Jordan and his music MA experience. It is like – if you haven’t experienced it (the T.A. experience and the lead etc. you can’t really know the self esteem it builds and how that effects the rest of their life with their gift of the instrument.) I hope he has no fear of his future. Spirit HAS a plan for him! He is too talented to miss out playing for the world. Have you ever encouraged him to put out an album? If he has or does, please tell me. I will be the first in Ontario to purchase or download it. Your friend, samara
My goodness, what a fantastic card! Love, love, love the stamping you have done here and the rich colours!
This is gorgeous! There are so many great things about this card from the triple stamping done a bit different (which is very eye catching) to the texture and that bow with the button! I love the simplicity of the sympathy sentiment (say that fast three times!). The colors are just perfect too. I am still putzing with my sympathy cards. One goes to a SU demonstrator so I want it perfect as well as the one to her sister-in-law.
Congrats to Brady. So, are you going to bake lots of cookies and then deliver them in person?
What are the fur babies up to?
Chris R. from Iowa
I really like your take on the Triple Layering technique, it’s refreshing to see a different layout and perfect with your stamp choice.
Fabulous looking & I love the little detail at the end of the banner so perfect!
Congrat’s to your son as well, nice achievement for him!

The twist of this is just amazing! What a cool new trick for me to try. I definitely need a lifetime of time to experiment with all the wonderful inspiration you give me! I am so proud of Brady. He will be great in his new endeavor.
I really like your card! I like both the traditional stack concept and yours here! I get the spritzer tool on the label. That’s typically how mine turns out, but how did you do the larger splotches? I would really like to know how to do that!!
Love the twist on triple time stamping and congrats to Brady!!
Pretty and creative take on the sketch!
Congratulations to Brady the Boy! So, what kind of cookies are you baking?
Fabulous twist on the triple stamping technique! Looks wonderful! And big congrats to Brady! Also wonderful!
Hi Ann,
Wow, that is a gorgeous card! I love how you did it and will certainly give that a try.
Congrats to Brady! I am happy to hear that he is settled in. Love the cookie care-package! Of course, it’s not for him *wink, wink*. I am sending my son off to college on Tuesday. I cry at just the thought of it. Any helpful hints?
Love this stamp set and especially love this card. The colors are fabulous and the bow is so cool. Thank you for sharing. I also appreciate the twist on this stamping technique!

Ann, I love your card and the variation of triple stamping. I tried it yesterday at a card class with my SU demo. Today I want to try your style. It is gorgeous!
Congrats to Brady in his new role at MIZZOU!
Oh I like your off set triple stamping! Adds more interest, in my opinion! It’s unique! The wonderful fall colours are beautiful! Love the embossing you did too!! Sorry that this had to be a sympathy card though 🙁 It is a very soothing card and perfect for it.
Congratulations to your son!!!!
Gorgeous Ann! I think I like your version better. ; ) Maybe just because it’s different and everyone is doing the traditional kind. I’m kinda like that though, want to be my own person and not follow the crowd. I love your Autumn card, beauitful color choices, and that fantastic loopy bow. I think the recepient of this card will receive great comfort with this beauty. Congrats to Brady! What a sweet mom to bake some cookies for the boys too! That’s awesome news for sure. Hope your Sunday is happy!
Ann, I just love your twist on Triple Time Stamping. It is so beautiful with the French Foliage images and the autumn tones.
Ann, I love this. I have used this technique before. In fact one of my stack classes tomorrow will be doing one but this is a different take and I love it. Can’t wait to do one myself. Perfect for this stamp set.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
Congratulations to Brady.
Oooooh! LOVE your take on Triple TIme Stamping! What a fun way to do it.
Congratulations to Brady to Boy, you must be SO proud!
Ann, I absolutely love this version of the triple time stamping. I am going to do this in my next class. congratulaions to Brady.
I love this set, too, Ann. I find I use it a lot. I love the technique used here. And the sketch has such a good flow to it. I really like the way you clustered the leaf, ribbon and lace…classy!
Congrats to your son!!! Isn’t it great to see one’s kids sprout wings and fly?
This is gorgeous, Ann! I have been thinking about doing the triple time technique with the traditional 3 layers, but maybe held more to one corner. I hadn’t thought of trying it with a different sketch, but it sure worked for you! Looks great!
I love triple time stamping in any way, shape or form and this is no exception! Love what you have done here. What a lovely Sympathy card, Ann.
Congrats to Brady the Boy!
Oh my goodness – I am actually jumping up and down in my chair, trying to catch my breath! This is fantastic!!! Fall colors are my favorite. I love the triple stamping and have been practicing it and now you’ve thrown me a new curve. WOW!! I have to go try this. Super congrats to Brady and the lovely people who raised them. Tuba professor? Who knew : )
Your card is gorgeous. I love the triple stamping effect.
Congratulations to Brady.
