In yesterday’s post, I mentioned that I wanted to switch out the Lucky Limeade Chevron mat on my Paper Players’ card for a Pool Party mat. Here is the before:

But I will admit that I still was not satisfied. So I carefully removed the stamped sentiment mat and switched out the Lucky Limeade stripes for Pool Party ones.

Funny how the addition of one color can make such a dramatic difference in your card. I like both cards but for some reason my eye is drawn to the green background. But, I truly would be happy to find either one of these beauties in my mailbox. 🙂
I Like them ALL! BUT – I think the last one with all pool party is my fav! Now that surprises me b/c I LOVE greens!!! go figure! Everything you do is great!!! Thanks for your inspiration! This would be a great idea to use for a Card Club …. ummmm ….
I’m somewhat obsessed with green of almost any shade, so your original version is my preference, but I do like the 2nd alternate version. Yes, somewhat retro. Reminds me of my childhood bedroom colors from the 60’s. Fun! TFS!

They are all pretty, but my favorite is the lucky limeade. Give your fur babies a pat for me!
My favorite is the Lucky Limeade but they are both beautiful. Didn’t think the LL & PP did much together but the Pool Party looked better when you changed both the chevron background and stripes. Perhaps I’m anal that way but I think your flowers really “pop” with the LL.
I actually liked the middle one best. Sort of a nice mixture of all the different colors. But all of them do look great!
Wow! That is such a surprising change, isn’t it? It had to grow on me, but now, I think I love it even more. As a child of the 60’s, it really does have that retro “feel” about it. 😉

I like the card with either all Limeade or all Pool Party better than the middle one with the mixture. As much as I like greens of all shades, for this one, my very favorite is the last one with all the Pool Party.

Crap, I can’t totally decide but I think I really like the original version the best. Then, I thought the last card was my 2nd choice but then I looked at the stripes and still like the green. Maybe I had better just stick with the first original card and be done with my choice before I go crazy!

I think it’s great to experiment with cards you’ve already completed. I would say I really love Pool Party, it’s one of my favorite colors… but I like your original card best. It would be fun to see/make a different kind of card with Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight 🙂 Thanks again for the chance to win some yummy blog candy!

Switching to the Pool Party striped paper made a big difference in the look of the card. It is a fun color combo.
I will vote on the 3rd card. In the first one, the colors are a little overpowering. In the second card, there are too many colors competing with each other, but the third card is just right, and the Pool Party cools down the vivid yellows and oranges. Thanks for showing a contrast.
This card caught my eye the first time you made it. It is just lovely, and I have been practicing the new (to me) technique of double stamping…Gotta master that one. For me I still like the original colors. The white touches on the flowers are so intriguing. Just amazing stamping!
Green is my favorite color, so I go with the original. It’s a beautiful card regardless of the colors.

While I like both cards, I REALLY like the first one with Lucky Limeade BEST!! I do love green, but I also think it just flows better with the Lucky Limeade. XO

I love the card with the pool party also. It does have a retro feel. Pool Party & Calypso Coral are 2 of my favorite colors together. Not sure which one I like best. They’re both very pretty.
Ann you never cease to amaze. I like them both, but must admit I would not have thought to add the pool party… how cool is that.
I DO feel it gives a retro feel, but I think that’s because in the 60’s there was that turquiose, yellow thing going on in our kitchen! Hugs.
Pool Party is such a wonderful shade of blue that it is another one of my favorite colors. I think your roses pop more against the blue shade. All 3 cards are stunning and sure to please the recipient. It is a great design. D

What a difference changing the background color makes! It got brighter and brighter and does have a bit of a retro feel.

I think the Lucky Limeade card is an in your face type of card. The Pool Party is more serene and relaxing. I would use the recipent’s personality in deciding which one to send. I Love the pool party one but thing the lucky limeade is beautiful…something about green…just makes it all pop. And the pearls…what a surprise…not! Just pretty.
Wow, what a difference color can make. The third card all with Pool Party is softer on the eyes and doesn’t pop as much as the 2nd card with both Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. So can’t say which one I like best since they feed different emotions. 🙂
Amazing what the change made, and the color swap really popped the colors in the card. Lucky Limade is one of my favorite colors, but Pool Party really makes the card look beautiful. Awesome card!

What a change the blue makes. I think I like it the best….but then shades of blue have always been my favorite.

I like both of the revised versions. The addition of Pool Party gives it less of an “in your face” vibe that all of the Lucky Limeade can sometimes do. Don’t get me wrong…I love Lucky Limeade and use it a lot. But in this instance, I really like the cooler addition of Pool Party. But, Ann, I love all of your creations!!
I think I like the lucky limeaid (green) background the best. The pool party isn’t bad and I would have loved it if I had not seen it in the green first, lol. I love how the green pops the flower. either way though, this card is fabulous!

Hi Ann! Gosh, this is hard. I like all three. I think the middle one with the contrast of blue and green makes the center panel pop though. They are all elegant and would make the recipent very happy to receive one. I loved this comparision Ann. Stretched my mind this morning before the coffee kicked in. lol!

I guess the saying “to each his own” holds true – you’ve already gotten votes for all three versions! 🙂 I like the changes you made, adding pool party to both places. The softer background color allows my eye to focus on the flowers and sentiment, rather than being overwhelmed by color. And not that it changed on the new card, but I love the stamped-off flower behind the sentiment! TFS! 🙂

As much as I love green and don’t love blue, I must say, the second and third tries ARE better than the first – imagine that. No wonder my grandmother always said to try it, you might like it. I like 2 and 3 equally, I think. There is some retro there for me because the colors remind me of Howard Johnsons.
Ann, WOW! All of the cards are gorgeous and love how you demonstrated the color change. It does change the card look with the Pool Party and hard to say which one I like more but would say the first one and second card for the contrast with Pool Party for the Chevrons.

I love your first card but I also love your third card with the Pool Party Chevron and Pool Party Stripes!! If I really had to choose one, I’d have to stick with the first one! As usual, GREAT job Ann!
I like the softness and contrast of Pool Party, although the Limeaid was nicely matching.

I like how you changed this up to use the Pool Party for the Chevrons and the mat. This allows me to focus more on the floral images and the sentiment. I agree that this looks a little bit retro. It’s a great card!

Although you prefer the Pool Party card, I prefer the Lucky Limeade card because it picks up the color in the leaves. Perhaps I am not as adventurous when it comes to the use of a variety of colors! Your flowers are gorgeous…I can see them on a background of Daffodil Delight, too.

I really think both cards look great but must say, I really do like what you had done in changing color of your card. The colors go so well together. Sure did make a big difference.
